Here you go. I actually got the marquee to display only when testing it with the HyperSpinEventIntegrator. When I run HS nothing shows. If it matters I am using RocketLauncher with HS.

did you go into hyperspin and open up hyperhq and enable ledblinky in the last tab of hyperhq?

in eds, if you setup ledblinky.., it should be pointed to real ledblinky if you use that program. you should not point eds itself.

HyperMarquee settings are in the settings folder... copy the file in there and leave the filename as is please when you upload it

you can run rocketlauncher alongside with hypermarquee+eds with no issue at all

Got it working figured out what I was doing wrong. I had set HyperHQ in settings to ledblinky.exe when it should of been just the EDS folder.

My next ? would be how do I display a marquee when in HS to display system names when scrolling the wheel thru the systems then when I enter the system it will display the marquee for each game.

well in eds, i would then disable ledblinky, hsfilewatcher, and hi2text.

only leave the one with marquee.

so far looking at your setting it seem to setup right once you disable the above.

one thing to double check is see if extensions of files are hidden on your OS is on. it could be label as ledblinky.exe.exe when it ahould be just ledblinky.exe. hidden extensions is enable by default by Windows. so it is hard to caught if you dont check it

First of all thank you very much for developing this great program. I regret why not study for programming 10yrs back,  :wallbash:

Now is time start learning this little software before my machine arrive. I have few questions to get me started.

 

1)Where do I need to place the Hyper Marquee folder with all the files? (In HS or RL folder)

2)Can I setup each system to launch the artwork  or game theme and the game title based on HS XML when launching a game without setting each game?

 

Point 2 is my most concern as a beginner to start from simple setup to learn deep slowly.

Having a bit of trouble setting this up, I've followed the video tut and read the user pdf but all I'm getting is a blank screen on HM :unhappy: . One step on the setup video shown at the end shows a dir address being clicked on but disappears on the  "1st Alternate Artwork" box but I only get the right click options when ever I click on the box ? is this extra box dir address needed ? I have my marquee images in my "Emulators\mame\marquee" directory within Hyperspin.

1. anywhere is fine. no restriction of location

2. using the wildcards offer in hypermarquee, it can launch any system/game/or any other artwork at any given event rrigger

Why do need them since we already have all the artworks , themes, covers for all systems in hyperspin?

Question 1: Yes

Question 2: Thanks for asking. Wildcards are simply a way to specify to file to display dynamically. Without the wild cards, the system wouldn't know which file to display according to the Front End selection. Is this making sense?  A wildcard is simply a variable.

Thank you Antos this clear my doubt.

We use wild cards when we right click , as your video remove Mame and change use wildcard to change to SYSTEM which can read all the systems when I spin the wheel am I right?

Tying to setup some more fields on HM but my Hyperspin directory lacks some of the folders highlighted in the Hyper Marquee PDF,

On Hyper Marquee's Database tab there are 2 fields that ask for Game info (ini) and Hyperlist (xml), both files point towards a data folder which isn't in my HS folder structure.

I've found the game info folder in my Rocket Launcher folder so have pointed HM towards that >"HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Data\Game Info\[system].ini"

I don't have a Hyperlist folder on my install and the only .xml files I have are in my Databases folder but if I point HM to them I get an error when trying to run the Hiscore pipe, So I downloaded a mame.xml list from the website and pointed HM to it and here is the error log>

gameinfo = inside rocketlauncher folder if you use it

hyperlist = database folder in hyperspin, only support official database. custom database run at your own risk

every system is in it own folder just to note that so using a [system] wildcard help

Yes I have all the folders correctly set up I think and am using the [system] wild card but the HiToText dos box just opens and closes when launched through HS, These are my settings as above>

HyperMarquee is still beta and those errors within your log file are not real errors. So no worries.

 

Now, within your log file, I can see 1 important problem (maybe 2) from your side;

 

1- "17:02:14 | P2 - Marquee Style: HiToText": You are trying to display some Mame Game HiScores. For that, you do not need GameInfo and HyperList. You can still point to them, but they are useless to display highscore.

 

2- "17:03:11 | P4 - Game: HyperMarquee": This speaks to you. It tells you that you are telling HM that you like to display the highscore of a game named 'HyperMarquee'?! It is obvious that your calling parameters are wrong. If you are using EDS, your parameters are not adequate. Please review and/or show us your EDS params.

Is there an option to turn off the dark clear art on Hyper marquee at all ? I want to display hight score data over art without the dark filter.

did you change the opacity of the background, located on the general tab, inside that tab you will see a button that just a "B", slide it 99% and dont do 100% or you will run into issues which long breathe to discuss
