Antos Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 Hi Antos and Sevenseal , recently one small problem whenever I launch HS hypermarquee runs fine but after I left the machine in attract mode and come back the hypermarquee won't respond not showing the wheels name or anything. I don't know what is wrong screen is fine not in power saving or anything. Can see the wall paper. I can get marquees to display in the game wheels but not the main system wheel. Upgrading to HS 1.4 made marquees also display in the system wheel, but going to 1.4 screwed everything else up (rocketlauncher issues, etc.), so I had to go back to HS 1.3. Is there a way to make the system wheel marquees work with HS 1.3?

I'm running my marquee on multiple led modules and so far I've managed to get it operational. One bit of trouble I'm having is with themes. How do you display them? Can I use the themes from HS? I have all my artwork displaying, but I'm obviously missing something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks again.

scoodidabop Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 So I've been diving into trying to make Hyperspin more stable over long periods of time. There's that known bug you guys talked about that causes Hyperspin to crash after a while if you leave it alone. It's related to Flash and Hyperspin's dependence on .swf and Flash files. I tested deleting all of the .flv flash transitions to gain more stability. It helped a little but Hyperspin will still crash after a while since all the themes and such use Flash. At any rate it seems that HyperMarquee also gets effected by crash. While testing HyperMarquee I found that the Hyperspin Flash Crash basically killed EDS and my UserSettings.xml file in EDS. I reinstalled everything and turned off "Attract Mode" to see if things would remain stable. Well, I'm happy to report that HyperSpin has been running for over 18 hours with no crash along with HyperMarquee. With Attract Mode off the menu stays on only one game of course so there's a little bit of a tradeoff. I'll take stability over the Attract Mode though. I'll continue testing this over the next few days and report back. One other I'm having is the mouse pointer is snapping back on top of the HM window causing the display to flash the operating window every time the marquee changes. What else am I doing wrong? Had that issue myself at one point. I think File Watcher was causing the problem.

Thanks for your patience. - Ps: I will update EDS to let users choose if they want or don't want to sent the mouse at the left corner when starting. This is to avoid HS loosing focus when using multiple display. According to my finding, HS does a mouse click on left top most display at starting... Not sure why, but that cause HS loosing focus if an application is there... Anyway, I will give you the option, just a simple update. HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System

When HM is active and launches with HS, HS always loses focus when exiting an emulator but only on the first exit. If i play another game after that and exit its usually ok. Its infuriated me for about a week now and all i can do is send a mouse click to the frontend after the first exit. (or wait for Antos to fix HM) not the end of the world but when my own findings don't jibe with Antos' explanation it got me going into test mode. Any other info on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
