There is no folder: "/Upload Here/Boogieman_nl/HyperSpeech v0.9" on the Hyperspin FTP server, could someone please upload it there again :)

I just checked and the folder was there along with a few previous releases.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem where the main menu bios are not spoken? HyperSpeech works for wheel changes and game bios, just not the main menu and I have tried the various troubleshooting and fixes in this thread. I am running 0.9 on HyperSpin 1.31 on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. HyperSpeech is in a folder C:\Arcade\HyperSpin\HyperSpeech and the Main Menu FLV is in the default location. I am running a fairly quick machine - a dual core Intel with 4 GB RAM and a 240GB SSD drive that has Windows and HyperSpin.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can recommend some troubleshooting steps? Thanks!

FIXED MY PROBLEM! Hope this helps someone else. I tried to run handle.exe at the CLI and it told me I needed to be an Administrator, so I thought to myself maybe that's what Boogie_NL's AHK script was having a problem with too. As a quick and dirty test I disabled UAC (User Account Control) within Windows 7 and rebooted. The system names are now being spoken properly and all is right with the world.

I realize UAC disabled makes Windows 7 about as secure as Windows XP, but for a gaming station not used for Internet browsing or normal computing tasks I should be fine. I will still try to find a way to enable UAC, but allow handle to run without being prompted.

This is an awesome add on, how do you add, other game bios to other systems, is there an easy way of doing that, or a simple process to add it?

Good that you've figured it out man!

What if you just right klick on the handle.exe and select properties->compatibility and select the option to run this exe as an administrator?

Tried that without success. I'm ok with no UAC. Btw - thank you for writing HyperSpeech. It impresses the hell out of people when I show them my cab.

Kudos on this very sexy add-on, Boogieman, but I have one issue I can't seem to shake that I hope you can shed some light on.

After installing the app on my Windows XP cab I found it worked as described until it came to choosing a system - it's at this point that an error pops up every time. It altogether reads "Error: 0x800401F3 - Invalid Class String. Line# 276: o :=ComObjCreate( "MSXML2.DOMDocument.6.0") Continue running the script?". Whether I click yes or no it does the same thing; ignores reading the games and stays quiet until I return to the main menu. I'm almost certain it concerns an issue with XML files, yet as far as I can tell they're all in place and working fine. The trial and error process has seen me going through the thread, updating runtimes and changing other little things but nothing has conquered it yet.

As XP support is pretty much brand new it may be that you've overlooked something, but I haven't a clue on my end. Any suggestions?

Hi JoeChin,

I think you should reinstall MSXML2 or re-register the MSXML2 dll

"regsvr32.exe msxml2.dll"

Good luck

Thanks for the response. I have a feeling what you suggested may have done the trick but I actually got rid of the problem by complete fluke! Some other app I was using required XP Service Pack 3 to be installed, and coming to the realization I was only on 2; I installed it. A while later I thought I'd re-enable Hyperspeech to give it another whack and the errors were gone! It's been working perfectly ever since.

There is one minor thing I'm curious about though - you mention using a "voice morpher" in the first post to achieve the results in the video, but I haven't really found any one setting (in windows or Loquendo) or program to pull this off. Could you give a bit more of an explanation regarding how you achieve the effect? Many thanks.

Just updated to the new RocketLauncher, and I think I broke my hyperspeech, it's not talking anymore, has anyone encountered this, and what did you do to fix it?

thanks

I'm running RL and HS 0.9 without issue. Do you have all your paths set right?

I would restart the setup of hyperspeech from the beginning. Hyperlaunch and hyperspeech have nothing to do with each other, so there should be nothing conflicting. Mine was still working last I checked, I just have it turned off atm.

It was my text to speech engine, reinstalled and everything is fine, Using Ivona text to speech engine UK Amy, it's pretty good, but gotta register

http://www.ivona.com/us/ Thank you for the help!

Has anyone found a way to code in game bios like the mame one? I tried several things like renaming the bios that come with hyperlaunch and putting it in the emulators path and renaming it to History.dat, and mapping it in the hyperspeech.ini but it doesn't work, is there something im missing?

I probably asked this question before, but wondered if anyone got it working somehow.

Folks

Is there a way to switch off speech in the main systems menu and only have it on within individual system wheels, like MAME?

Additional question to the one directly above. Can you use an absolute path for MAMEHistoryDatPath. I've tried and can't seem to get it to work that way.

Hi JoeChin,

I use 3rd party apps called Voxmorph Pro and Virtual Audio Cable, but there are other programs available that do the same trick.

You need to create a virtual cable called Line1, and in the SAPI Control Panel screen (under advanced) you can route the TTS voice output to Line1.

Set your voice changer app microphone input to the previously created Line1 and output to your normal audio outs.

Basically that should do the trick to route the TTS voice to the morpher and keep the HS sounds clean at the same time.

It will take a little tweaking of the settings...

Hi Undertow76,

The .dat file has tweaks for Loquendo US voices, be aware that if you use another TTS voice you probably have to adjust quite some stuff to make it sound optimal.

However Ivona voice are great voices, please let us know how these work out will you?

Game bios other than MAME are currently not supported because the lack of standard database files.

If you have game bios for certain systems in a database (or xml), then I might look into it someday.

Cheers!

There's no switch for that.

Funny, some folks had issues with the voice not speaking in the main wheel and it took quite some time to figure out the bugs.

You are actually the first to ask for this.

I will take this into consideration when I find the time to create a new build.
