  1. The key here is that it’s hyperspin is now actively developed….

I to believe “bring your own media” needs a proper conversation here BUT flash is dead which will render a large proportion of the existing artwork useless AS it did when the original artwork was all squashed and encoded to swf.

The new HyperTheme system looks awesome.

Please listen to the last 2mins of the live stream and Frosty’s requests

Hyperspin 2 is a bigger rebuild than most were expecting (including myself) but I’m willing to see if we can build back the community better than it has been the last 5yrs

So do i need a membership to get all this?

@dark13 would have to comment on the themes current hosting.

It was/is hosted on the ftp for ease of collaborating so that would need a membership yes. I'm not sure how updated the ftp is it if someone has the theme files online offsite.

Great guide, thanks. Quick question...I think I already know the answer but wanted to confirm...

Ideally for me (Shield TV 2017 with external USB drive attached for ROMs & Media), the Hyperspin folder would be located on my USB drive in the NVIDIA_SHIELD folder so that I can directly edit *.ini files, etc from my PC. However when I put the Hyperspin folder there I get the "can't find Hyperspin folder" message. If I move the folder to the root of the USB drive then the Hyperspin app sees it and boots in fine. I know it was stated that for ROMs/Media on a NAS drive need to be in the root of the NAS drive but is the same true for external USB drives? Is there any way to change that or is it just baked in that way?

    Thanks...Piper

Unfortunately those locations are fixed. The app would need updating and afaik theres no dev maintaining it currently.

Hi I'm learning to setup Hyperspin on PC now and it seems to work. My goal is to have it eventually on my Nvidia Shield. But since you say both versions can live together, I can't figure out how I could "export" my pc configuration easily to an android version?

Do I have to do it manually by editing all the ini and xml files or is there an easier way like using rocketlauncher? E.g. Where you need to give the path to the emulator, you could just download the apk and point it to the apk?

Its all manual im afraid. There is a collection of settings files in the downloads section iirc.

  5. Sort out controls. And build those to fit the draw.

The idea is to go modular so I dont have a massive CP to work around daily as 90% of the time its gonna be 1 player.

I am going to house the inteface in player 1 arcade stick then use D shape connectors and cables to extend to 2 player and extra controls.

So long as I have the whole plan figured out then I can start small then add to it as funds become availiable

  6. Project Status = Nearly Started
Expected Completion = Xmas 2021or Before

    Intro
I have been a member here for a few years, its been a journey :) Started on HTPC build but didn't enjoy that then moved over to Android and the Shield TV which I managed to get a pretty solid build from but ultimately it does not fullfill my needs and those needs have changed over time. Building work at home has hampered me but also allowed me to create a Desk/Cab space for the project below

    Concept

Well I have been waiting a long ass time to make this post and .......well I can't wait anymore!!!  Although I have not really got a start date I have enough parts to post but not enough to really get going ANYWAY.

So the concept is an unassuming desk with everything I need to enjoy the games I have nerver played yet. I really want to Pimp my desk and MAME setup, leaning toward Gun, Driving, old arcade games and consoles up to PS2 ish, but also do the general stuff I enjoy other than being a HyperSpin forum whore ;)

    Goals

    • Wife Friendly STEALTH cab
    • AimTraks (50% complete)
    • NAS (100% complete)
    • Motorised rotating Monitor
    • PlayStation 2 hookup
    • Modular Arcade controls
    • Emulation up to PS2 and early 2000's Arcade
    • Multiple Frontends with RocketLauncher (Probably not gonna achieve this)
    • Some PS2 game storage
    • Removable Joysticks for storage (bit of limit this one)

Chosen housing = Antique Bureau desk

    IMG_3602.JPG

    Current Specs

    Intel i5-4690T CPU @3.50Ghz
    Asus Z97M Motherboard
16GB Kingston RAm (salvaged from a CCTV system or 2)
    MSi Geforce GTX 750Ti
    Win7 64-bit
    SSD
    Shitty case (to be changed)

Current BDC Task  =  researching/deciding on controls (iPac, U-HID, Spinner+Wheel addon, button layout, RGB or not, Bliss-Box or wireless controller and Joysticks with removable shaft)

Current BDC Prevention = Kitchen revamp & limited funds

    IMG_3627.JPG

    Shopping List before project start

    • PC Case and PSU
    • Player 1 CP controls (Buttons, Joystick, Interface)
    • Trackball & Spinner Undecided
    • Driving game Controls

Random shots of my DIRTY current setup and what I'm working with

Oooooo those wires kill me everyday lololo

  7. @JackOfOwls as explained by @agent47 here and at the rocketlauncher forums, your question is not really relate to this topic. I would suggest making a new topic dedicated to your question of disk swapping with the Vice emulator.

It would be more visible for now and people in the future with a decent title.

Thanks for the update Diskmach. I wish you well in your new art corner.

if I was you I would create a little thread for your new location...you made a ton of art for this community and I’m sure many who may miss this post would like keep updated.

Thanks to @ Honosuseri for sharing his settings.

The first post needs amending to include

exe=org.dolphinemu.dolphinemu/org.dolphinemu.ui.main.MainActivity (no ui on the first post)

most of the downloads don't include this either.

I also noticed the play store version does seem to have a .free in it, I haven't tested this version with a new exe yet and will try to tomorrow and report back

Let me know how the testing goes.

I can amend the OP unless @reznnate has any additional info to add.
