I came across a post over at XDA the other day about an Android version of openBOR. I sideloaded the app and it works great, except on the shield TV it recognizes the remote but the keys aren't mapped properly. I hooked up a keyboard and was able to play that way. I could not find out how to remap keys and couldn't find any info if it can load a specific game instead of going to the GUI. Across my googles, it seems the most recent version I can find is here: https://sites.google.com/site/nickypbor/ In setting: pcgame=true Database is: game name="org.openbor.engine"

Unfortunately, the ANDROID buildbot on retroarch is unstable at the moment and my favorite wheel/core has been suffering. For those not familiar, Retroarch's nomenclature is essentially: MAME2003 core is Mame v78 MAME2010 core is Mame v139 MAME2014 core is Mame v159 MAME core is Mame GIT which should be the latest/greatest and inclues MESS GIT as well The MAME version matters due to ROM set version AND the newer versions of MAME require more and more CPU performance to achieve the same gaming performance. At the moment, MAME GIT is available and works (although cps3/svt-v games don't work for me and it's crashing on exit). I was able to get…

(edited with workarounds!) Retroarch is the most capable emulator available and so it includes a number of powerful features. This complexity can be a turn-off for those with a short-attention span (Me!) but once you figure it out, you'll find it's an amazing, free piece of software. I truly love it. Kudos to all the emulator core authors and Retroarch team for their efforts in 2015. I can't wait to see what they do next in 2016. I've donated support when possible and I urge any power users here to do the same. These guys invest CRAZY amounts of their time in this hobby (for no compensation). Going into 2016, I wanted to share some of my test results …

Hi all! I´m trying to set up Hyperspin to work with my Nvidia Shield Tablet and a Joypad that the tablet recognises like a Keyboard but only works the joystick and the Exit (Esc Key). I modified the P1 Controls with the keyboard codes of the buttons and disabling the P1 Joystick in settings.ini file but I did not have success. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

My Top 5 Android emulation highlights for May 2015 The Android emulation scene is vibrant. There has been a lot of great activity this month. 1. Glide64 plugin updated for Mupen64 upgraded substantially and coming soon on Android (Retroarch and Mupen64AE+ will be first) 2. 64bit CPU support -- Dolphin and PPSSPP are being optimized with nightly builds showing subtantial performance improvements. All games are now playable on PPSSPP. 3. Retroarch nightly -- lots of new cores -- 7800, 3DO, FBA, Jaguar, full MAME v160, FBA, MESS, UME, Vectrex, Wonderswan, and many more. 4. Arcade machine friendly -- all emulators are being updated so you can naviga…

RETROARCH The nightly build (8-25) and latest Prosystem core finally works on Android! This is great so that you can avoid MESS, and just use the official Atari 7800 Hyperspin media and dbase. btw - the mame GIT core is currently broken, use MAME 2003 (v78), MAME 2010 (v139) or MAME 2014 (v159). DOLPHIN The latest nightly build adds a number of cpu optimizations and the performance is noticeably better. In the past 2 months, compatibility has doubled, performance has doubled, and they added a new Android TV GUI. All of this comes at the expensive of requiring full GL drivers and 64b CPUs in the Shield Android TV.

I recently sideloaded Ducktales Remastered to my shield tv. I've been trying to get it to launch from hyperspin's main menu but after choosing the game HS crashes to the dashboard. this is what my exe command looks like: I also tried a version without the activity added: Neither of these seem to work, is there something I'm doing wrong?

I was told from a friend of mine that the Nexus 7 2013 aka 2nd gen can run Hyperspin for mame. I went to googles play store and I was let down when I saw this image. Is there away to get Hyperspin on my tablet? Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after. Henry David Thoreau

http://kotaku.com/gamecube-games-now-running-on-one-android-device-1715286270 copy/paste from youtube demo video -- Armed with a new device and several big updates to the ARM CPU Core, we demonstrate just how well some games run on the new NVIDIA Shield powered by the Tegra X1. The results are what we've been waiting for: finally some games can run full speed. This video demonstrates a few games for people to get an idea of how things are running. This video was included as part of our monthly Progress Report. For more details on Dolphin's continued Android development, check June's Progress Report at https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2015/07/...
