Well looks like it takes the users Hyperspin and does what is should be doing. Nice to see some devs working and advancing things. Should be a snazzy little thing to try out. 

 

Hats off to them if it does what it says on the tin, although my French is terrible :( anyone translate ??

 

 

I have also been told scrapers are being made too. Sooo much good news right now :)

Most of all I learn come from others interested in sharing with genuine people, or those asking for answers themselves.

 

I love New ideas and would always support anyone who would help others. 

 

This program looks awesome. Soo many features that should have been standard soo many years ago.  I love where emulation is going right now

Ditto. I tried to translate hyper free spin and it doesn't look like there is a place to download yet. Seems like it takes the same ideas from hyperspin only it's in active dev for new features

As always, pretty interesting and promising, however the overall atmosphere on these forums tend to put me off for a reason I can't really explain... Just... there's something I find weird and... argh!

 

Anyway, competition is always good, let's hope Hyperspin continues evolving :3

Yeah mate, keep us all up to date. I don't understand anything on the site so I couldn't comment. But the setup is cool! 

 

Always good to have options and strive for improvements.

I'm not even sure what the vid was showing me. It seemed like a mod for Hyperspin that adds some features?

Or is it a RocketLauncher replacement?

Really? I thought it was a direct copy of HS with extra features as that site likes to rip off this site.

 

It's good to have competition of course, but would be good if it was different.

That's true. I didn't realize that. Looked to me like they had open source or something and adds some features but if they are calling it their own and it's not then well.... Ya.

That's the main gripe I have with that kind of 'fork'.

 

I used to work a lot with open source projects, and forks did happen, and were generally encouraged, alas I'm not sharing this opinion. Forks are useful when there is a big difference in the direction you are going with the original project. It's much more productive to collaborate together on the same project instead of having two separate ones, separate the community, and multiply the work needed to get the same features.

 

Why reinvent the wheel ? :)

 

I'm sure Hyperspin would benefit from a git/svn repository where we all could help Bill add features, offer new code and fix bugs, just like Rocketlauncher is doing.

 

Alas that is up to the original author to free the code or not.

Looks like they have HyperSpin running in some sorta separate enviroment or something. I like the multiOS support and the multi level wheels. This is an instance where it would be nice if whoever created that would come and work together with Bill in adding that stuff to HS.

 

Their latest video shows it running a dummy executable in its place and it works just the same. I'm assuming you can load hyperspin to access some sort of other features. If i had to guess, I'd suspect it is to have increased HS theme support, likely to access Flash ActionScript.

I think it's greatwhat they are doing. Anything that brings new life to this front end is amazing. I wish BBB could open it up and work with others, but I respect his decision not to. 

 

It's amazing people can get things like this to work and by the looks of it, it brings much to the party. 

 

I hope it lives up to the hype... Get the pun?? Hehe

That, and the many emulators which don't have a non-Windows version. 

 

If you want to get a fairly complete and functionnal emulation box, Windows is what you should use (as much as I love Linux and OSX, I have to admit that I can't do without Windows for games :P)

I disagree. There are not many front end choices for osx or linux. So this could be a great option. Not everyone needs rl or wants it. A decent front end and retro arch on Linux gets most people what they need for gaming it up.

I love having more choices....

I m all for it ... but auto upscaling will not deliver what you expect. Best results are always brought by manual edit.

It's plain and simple: if the artwork is made for 1024x768 (16:9 stretch or not) will be resized to 1920x1080p.  Open a image of 1024x768 size in image editor and make it 1920x1080. You will see what I mean.

I will use it just for the 1080p space to work on :D (if it's real and not just 1024x768 16:9st)

why you guys complain? bbb didn't gave sign of live for years so don't be surprised another "team" try to make there own frontend, and when you see how much theme there are for hyperspin, i think it's the best road to take to have hyperspin theme compatible with that new frontend, i only see benefits.
