Hi guys, I'm looking for some databases that are a bit more obscure.  I already did a search on the FTP and got quite a few that people had squirreled away, I just couldn't find any of the ones listed below.  Let me know if you have any of these, I appreciate the help.  Thanks in advance!

Never even heard of most of those. You have the goodies for them?

I've created or gathered Main Menu wheels and themes for most of it, Yes.  When I complete the set I'll post.

Apple Macintosh 68k is the main family group for Apple Macintosh Plus and Apple Macintosh PowerPC. It would be the same as splitting up the different generations of PC CPU's  (286, 386, 486, Pentium, ....) . A little redundant imo.

There's a thread somewhere hidden on the forums which contains a DooM database and has about 200ish  game entries, can't seem to find it right now. (I posted it below)

 

Doujin Soft from what I understand is the Japanese Indie development scene, good luck with trying to make/find  a database for that one. 

Sega-Mega-CD is essentially the Japanese and/or European Sega CD.

 

So those are some systems which you can combine or just leave out all together.

 

Just a quick question tho, how many systems do you already have and do you have the intention of ever playing any of the games listed from those obscure systems?

I'd like to collect too, but if it's only going to take up a couple 1's and 0's on my harddrive then I can't be bothered.

Apple Macintosh 68k is the main family group for Apple Macintosh Plus and Apple Macintosh PowerPC. It would be the same as splitting up the different generations of PC CPU's  (286, 386, 486, Pentium, ....) . A little redundant imo.

There's a thread somewhere hidden on the forums which contains a DooM database and has about 200ish  game entries, can't seem to find it right now. (I posted it below)

 

Doujin Soft from what I understand is the Japanese Indie development scene, good luck with trying to make/find  a database for that one. 

Sega-Mega-CD is essentially the Japanese and/or European Sega CD.

 

So those are some systems which you can combine or just leave out all together.

 

Just a quick question tho, how many systems do you already have and do you have the intention of ever playing any of the games listed from those obscure systems?

I'd like to collect too, but if it's only going to take up a couple 1's and 0's on my harddrive then I can't be bothered.

 

Thanks for the reply and the Doom database, appreciated.  I'm more of a collector and preservationist than a player so I do have a lot of unnecessarily redundant systems, but I don't mind supplying the disk and it provides great conversation over beers.  A stamp collector isn't ever going to mail all of his stamps, and I won't be playing the vast majority of what is taking me years to setup & configure.

 

Thank you for the input on the Apple systems, I may rethink this one.  For Doujin Soft I was hoping it may have some likewise-indie database someone generated sorta like MUGEN for example before that one got cleaned up and made into the HyperList official, but maybe I'm wrong and it's more obscure.

 

I do want to collect Sega Mega-CD, and it will have a slightly different database than the Sega CD (with a lot of admitted overlap).  I already have Sega Mark III and Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis, and a couple of other multi-regional releases of the same thing.  Sister Systems I call them (car terminology).

I have setup the Atari Xegs, Casio PV2000 and some others but I have just created an automatic database from the file names.
Otherwise I have tried unsuccessfully to setup many of the other systems you are talking about, mainly because of a lack of a working module (and because I am so bad at trying to write one myself) so I will follow your project with great interest!

I don't have a wheel named "handheld remakes" but instead one called "electronic games" with probably about the same games.

Relic, those databases are completely unofficial and, from what I know, not endorsed at all by Brolly and the other people in charge so I am really not sure if they can be added to the downloads section.

You can add anything you want to the downloads section.  I'm sure many of the official databases on HyperList started their life as an upload from a community contributor.  Share baby!

Quite good actually with Demul 0.70 !! not perfect but much better...
