Sorry I mean for the mapping the one button. I got the PS3 controller working but not sure on the power button map. Maybe I just doenload the file?

Yeah, pretty much. Be sure to use this version for full functionality:

button_on_guide2_v6

Modify the INI file to map the button to whatever key you want. You can even hold down the button for an alternate keymap and even modify the duration you want to have to hold the button to activate the alternate keymap. I use this functionality to open HyperPause with just a tap of the button or exit if I hold the button in for a second or more.

The INI file is well worded with plain English instructions on how each variable works.

For the decimal VKEY translations (don't worry it will become obvious when you read the INI) just refer to this table:

Virtual-Key Codes

EDIT: To make sure this program is always on just add a shortcut to your "Startup" folder found at C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

This "Startup" folder is also found in the Start menu. Just drag the button_on_guide2.exe file into into it and you're done.

Hope this helps.

I've never had to use an extra program to be able to map my xbox 360 guide button. AntiMicro and Pinnacle Game Profiler can both do it by default.

Are either of those supported by RocketLauncher like Xpadder is?

Thanks. In terms of the startup folder, couldn't I just add the app to the hyperspin startup script which is amazing btw so it launches behind hyperspin at launch?

I haven't tried it but I can't think of reason why not. I have it startup on Windows startup because my default Xpadder+button_on_guide2 profile enables me to use my gamepad as a mouse as well as operate XBMC/Kodi and my other programs through key presses.

I used to use this... or at least an older version.  It was great but found it gave me issues for certain controls.  Example, I couldnt use it with the startup script.  Dolphin acted wierd for controls, some other Emus had smaller issues.

All of these bugs may have been sorted in later build... all this was aaaaaages ago :)

This app runs in a minimized windows, I managed to minimize it to tray using a portable program called RBTray, but I have to minimize the button on guide window to do it.

Does anyone know if there's a way to minimize button on guide window to tray without any third app?

I wish Xpadder would incorporate native Xbox 360 Controller guide button support like some of the other remapping software.  It's kind of a pain to have to run my "Button On Guide" proggie separately.

Got this working only prob i have is it brings up RetroArch as well

You can remap the guide button in Retroarch in the config file so that it doesn't activate the Retroarch GUI when you press it.  In fact, I had a major problem that I just solved today when I remapped the guide button to ESC using the software program that was the subject of this topic and Retroarch wanted to bring up its GUI too.  Result?  My Hyperspin wheel would lock up when I went to escape a game.  Had to close then reopen HS to fix it.  So make sure to deactivate that Retroarch GUI 360 guide button if you've remapped it to something else.
