SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I had a look at some of the latest emulators to see how they stood up... pretty damn well to be honest guys. Here is the Top 5 in terms of stability, what they emulate and how much they make me smile Simply Austin's YouTube

NewYears1978 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 lol..Funny that I saw several videos today with people ranting about Pokemon..yours then Ashens got some pokemon crap in a loot crate. zomboided Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Dude, you don't half waffle but "your Dad's laptop" is a great benchmark I've been out of the PC emulation scene for some time so this is just dead interesting. Thanks for sharing man! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 haha, I do waffle and I do like to put things into context with the every day stuff. Half of the time I have no idea what I have just said in my hour of waffles until I come to edit the gameplay etc hehe. However... update... PS3 emulation now has the next release and many games flawless. Cemu is now on 1.30 and games such as Mario etc are fully playable at around 90% speed! Trying to download my Xenia now to test more hehehe Simply Austin's YouTube
j5350 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I'm really impressed with the current emulation scene. Although that means I'll have to break down and get an expansion unit for my Synology NAS. And even though I've got an Xbox, 360, PS3... it's just so damn cool to play the games through an emulator and especially incorporated into a frontend.
rastan Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I'm gonna wait for these to develop more... always good to see progress going on! I will say with the WiiU... I don't know how that's gonna go in the long run because those games are HUGE! but definitely good for the FEW games people actually play... I can't see anyone having a WiiU set like something like a PS1 or PS2 set but hey that's just me.

rastan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 so i got my hands on super mario 3d and tried to run it with Cemu.... the screen goes black and it's loading then crashes. I'm using my old laptop which isn't the best but still handles but other than that I'm just wondering if that game works with CEMU? I assume I had the correct (stuff I'm sure we shouldn't talk about).
THK Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Subscribed ..........................back with a vengeance........................

I assume I had the correct (stuff I'm sure we shouldn't talk about). I couldnt say to be honest mate, I have not tried that game. But all the games so far I have tried boot up but various results in terms of performance. I dont think you going to get much out of a laptop unless its very high end. Again though I couldnt comment. I do know that this is much more stable on modern intel chips, its requirements like all the emus here are versy fussy. Compatibility is not as important to the devs at the moment as performance is. Its like learning this all over again with new emulators hehehe Simply Austin's YouTube
rastan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 yeah, I didn't expect much in performance... using a first gen i3, would have been happy to just see it run even if unplayable. definitely gonna add it to my higher end emulation computer when development really gets going.
