manicshere Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 - Working title - Hello everybody Who here can honestly say they put in as many hours playing games than they spend setting up systems, collecting and creating artwork, coding and so on? It's time we have ourselves a Recess. A break from the norm so to speak. What is "the Hyperspin Recess"? To be honest it's too early to say what this will evolve into, but here are my initial thoughts: The Hyperspin Recess is a break from the tiresome and time-consuming work it can sometimes be to work with the Hyperspin FE. It's a place to get your mind of things and what better way to do this than through our common interest, video games. We'll be able to get to know each other and discuss Hyperspin and other game-related stuff as well completely different subjects. It's all about having some fun and if we can get this thing going we can possibly host competitions sometime in the future. It will most likely be streamed to twitch so other members can take part in the fun as well. It's not going to be anything like the "let's plays" and such that you're familiar with, and it's not trying to be. It's all about having a fun time and getting to know Hyperspin members across of states and even continents. Can I join in on the fun? Sure! This is for the community, by the community. Although it would be preferred that you have a microphone so we can get ourselves a nice chat while playing. What games will we be playing? Everything! From the old-school retro games, indie games to new releases. Your choice! When? How? I'm trying to figure this part out, but it depends on other participating parts so this will be decided at some later time. Hopefully we can have scheduled game sessions in the future, but for now keep follow the development in this thread and I will announce our first session. If you would be interested in participating or even just watching let me know in this thread so we can get this thing started. More specific details will be added to this thread in the future. Logo and title are subject to change.

zerojay Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Eh.. maybe I'll do one tonight. First stream since the RL beta, so some stuff just isn't going to work. Maybe I'll do a little preview of some of my upcoming modules too.
gigapig Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Interesting....didn't know it was possible, but as I've learnt from being here, anything is. I would loose.

Interesting....didn't know it was possible, but as I've learnt from being here, anything is.I would loose. Playing multiplayer games not possible? haha You must be referring to doing it through emulators. Some support online play and in other cases there has been PC releases of these classics. It's not about winning or loosing. It's about having fun. Besides I am horrible at most arcade games
zero dreams Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Great idea!! I spend 99.8% testing and arranging and never really just relax and play anymore. Since this is recess I'm going with XS Junior League Dodgeball. It looks like Gigapig is already ready for some Knockout Kings (USA). I have no idea about streaming, twitch, or even have a microphone but this thread is subscribed. HyperLaunch | HyperWiki | HyperSearch | Intro | Evolution | FadeProject | Checker | Steam Wheel
djvj Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I'm up for losing a bit. Great idea! Rain Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I call Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition a game in which I cannot loose.
manicshere Posted July 6, 2013 Author Posted July 6, 2013 Thank all of you for taking interest in this little project. Without members taking part this simply won't be possible. I'm currently in the process of planning and making arrangements.
brolly Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Interesting, I'll be following this. But wait we are supposed to actually play games in HS too? I thought the idea was to keep tweaking it forever.

This sounds like a challenge just to setup. Some of my clan have trouble setting up BF3 on a regular basis.

zerojay Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Doing a test stream of random stuff. Some stuff won't work since I haven't streamed since the HL2 days. http://twitch.tv/zerojayzero

I thought the idea was to keep tweaking it forever. lmao this was great just made me really laugh......the idea I thought was you tweak it till you feel its perfect and the day after that happens the next version of hyperspin is out and you start over
daithi1101 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I heard that..... Once upon a time I used to be pretty good at sf2..... now I'm a genious at tweaking but I play like a five year old Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

gigapig Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I've been waiting for 3 months for you to login. I'm starting to look thin.
Fromlostdays Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Just putting it up here, I'm in. And please note that while most of you savants were busy CREATING all of this awesomeness, I've been busy brushing up on my D-Pad techniques. These thumbs are unbeatable. Except in Starcraft 2. I've been playing for 3 years and I suck at Starcraft 2. Walter:beerglass:
jackhammersalm Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Announcement to be made shortly The Hyperspin Report writer/editor
resident grouch, Hyperspin facebook modorator
for those who want to read my work
http://thehyperspinreport.blogspot.co.uk
jackhammersalm Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Well me and manicshere tested a stream and we came to conclusion we need a major league computer to run a gaming stream at the moment. my laptop within xsplit slows down measurably under the strain of gameplay and render streaming nearly killed my laptop. and system don't run on my XP system (might have to install of a previous version) The Hyperspin Report writer/editor
resident grouch, Hyperspin facebook modorator
for those who want to read my work
http://thehyperspinreport.blogspot.co.uk
unkelo Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Hi, I didnt understand what you are want streaming. Music / Voice or live game content @ fullhd? At which Frames or which resolution. It must be converted live into small streaming packets to an streaming server, and depends on hardware and uploadrate. PS.: @jackhammersalm the hyperspinreport is really nice. how about sometimes on weekend stream/podcast 1-2 hours gamemusic /news or interviews from the scene cuz your are talking about streaming ,-) you dont need really big equipment for that only software. Greetings uNkeLo
jackhammersalm Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 first off thanks for the feedback. I ran mamehub with xsplit on an i3 laptop. the results were disappointing. need to improve my system for that Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 The Hyperspin Report writer/editor
resident grouch, Hyperspin facebook modorator
for those who want to read my work
http://thehyperspinreport.blogspot.co.uk
damageinc86 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'm confused, are you talking about netplay and then streaming video at the same time for recess? Or just streaming yourself playing the same game as someone else and competing with others casually?
manicshere Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 @damageinc86 - Possibly. This thing wasn't further developed due limitations on my internet connection. Good news: This will still be realized one day and explained in more details. Bad news: Still gonna be a while. I get upgraded around the beginning of next year. While this specific project is not live, I do still encourage others to start a similar thing. A high score competition wouldn't require anything more than one thread and some interested people.
