Hey guys, Retro here!

I decided to make a thread so that I can post what I'm working on and I will be able to update everyone on the completed themes.

The second use of this thread is so I can get feedback of all of my current projects.

 

Oh and I am also taking request.

I am mostly working on the Capcom arcade games currently but feel free to make requests.

These look fantastic! Albeit, much to fancy for my personal taste. They look really good though. The opening transitions are phenomenal.

I'm particularly fond of the one that starts of the Master System theme. (TV static is something I'm trying to implement whenever possible in my build)

The reason i started doing this is mainly due to the fact that my pc has a living room, on the couch experience rather than the arcade cabinets.

I just wanted to have a little bit of "flash" to it rather than the "arcade" look.

 

I definitely got inspiration from a guy on here named James baker.

I almost fell out of my seat when I saw what he was doing and it pushed me to start doing some of my own.

These look really good, but I'd remove the trademark ® from the Capcom logo in the Street Fighter 3rd Strike theme.

I'm in the finishing stages of another theme but after this one, I'll use the logo without the Trademark.

I'm not sure why but I like the trademark for some reason.

 

Edit: I'm currently re-rendering everything without the Trademark and then I'll edit my upload.

This includes the SFIII, Vhunt2, and Vsav2.

I think its great! Since you will be working on it again, please fix Earthworm Jim's shadow. If you look closely, It is on top of the main video (the large one in the middle). When it probably should be behind the video.

Awesome work.  Personally I prefer the themes that have more artwork...the game themes 3rd Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom and Vampire Hunter 2.  The Sega Master System and Sega CD seem plain by comparison, though great...

Personally I'm only interested in cinematic themes for my main menu (and only for arcade systems/manufacturers), but it's awesome to see someone else making them in this style.

Yeah, the Main Menu themes are a little boring.  I will most likely end up redoing them at some point.

It's kind of hard to figure out what to do with the main menu.  I give a lot of respect to those who can pull it off.

Yeah. Originally I wanted to only have the cinematic themes for the main menu as well.

The thing that makes me hesitant to use them for game themes is that there aren't enough cinematic themes for it.

 

I think it looks odd if I only have a few here and there with the more traditional themes. 

I plan on, hopefully, creating a theme for the entire wheel.  Surely it will take awhile though. 

Right now, the plan is Capcom Classics themes.

I really enjoy that theme also. 

The Street fighter series is by far one of my favorites in the fighting game genre.

I had to do it some justice lol.

Haha that's so funny! We both are doing big screen couch experiences but went in completely different directions. I felt like the arcades were too flashy and I wanted simplified for a console experience. You should check out the video in my signature.

Right now most hyperspin setups are inconsistent since all of the art is done by many different people with different ideas and approaches.

 

My biggest concern was the lack of 16:9 when navigating the menu's.  I use 4:3 resolutions when gaming and I have overlays for the black bars which match for every console.

The biggest thing I needed was a more consistent look.  I had to get rid of most of the box art and cart art due to some systems missing artwork and what not.

Yeah some of the gaps in artwork were tough to swallow. For me it meant getting rid of title art and cartridges.

I've made a lot of boxart and cleaned a ton up as well. In particularly the ones I have made for the romhacks.

Normally I'm all for 16:9 stretch whenever possible... But the boxset being stretched is starting to bother me.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Also, if you remember I gave some advice about transparency.....Sorry about that -- In your master system theme the colors of the characters looked transparent my bad.

Hello Everyone! It is that time once again!

I am back with two new themes for Hyperspin's Capcom Classics!

 

Today I'm bringing a new theme for Marvel Super Heroes and a theme for Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter!

I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do!

 

I hope to finish a few more today or tomorrow so keep an eye out for more this weekend!

I tried moving the videos down before I adjusted them upward,

It looks a little bit goofy since there is a lot of extra space in the tops of the videos.

 

 

I also thought I could just make the logo smaller and the videos would be centered but then I had a huge gap in between the videos and the logo.

I have a tendency to overthink it and it was probably fine lol.

Oh well, I really appreciate the feedback!

I mostly just talk a lot, but that translates poorly onto forum posts. I don't like talking to my monitor either, it just keeps looking back at me with it's schmuck face not saying anything.

I end up deleting half the stuff that I say just because I type/talk too much lol.

 

If your monitor doesn't have much to contribute to the convo then it sounds like you need a new monitor.

lol, I'm sure if you listen to the song "turning Japanese" long enough, you'll get adopted and could consider yourself Japanese.

 

The hardest part about doing these themes is finding good tunes lol. 

Prior to tech, my favorite thing to do is music. 

Been involved in it for 12 years.
