greatstone
Ok, we are nearly 2 years after the last message Months are running at an incredible speed! I found some time to add 38 new games (again with contributions from T. Busse), 170 new clones, rework java and C# sources to be more closer to each other, slightly update the engine (check xml documentation for byte-trunc instruction), and greatly improved an internal function to try to automatically found the encoding algorithm of a specific hiscore file. So, yes, the project is still alive! Games: R2D Tank, Radar Scope, Guardian, Prehistoric Isle in 1930, Prehistoric Isle 2, Wild Western, The Three Stooges In Brides Is Brides, Black Widow, Gravitar, Space Duel, Eggs, Eliminator, Exed Exes, Loco-Motion, Pac & Pal, Start Trek, Tac/Scan, Warlords, Zektor, Snap Jack, Son Son, Demolition Derby, Espial, Kozmik Kroozr, Omega Race, Rampage, Satan's Hollow, Solar Fox, Spy Hunter, Time Pilot '84, Two Tigers, Wacko, Fire Truck, The Ninja Warriors, Gradius III, Lode Runner, Rainbow Island, Viewpoint, Youjyudn. all games from mame 0.1 to 0.28 are supported clones aligned to mame 0.212 hiscore.dat Everything is here: http://greatstone.free.fr/hi2txt/index.html

ninja2bceen
I’m wondering if there is a community hi folder saved somewhere. I only have like 179 hi files and I don’t have a mame version that auto generates them. It would be awesome if someone could post these files from you mame folder if you have a large collection. Note the hi files are needed for hyperspin to display the high scoresSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
slizzap
I've had Hi2Txt working for some time, but I've just recently noticed that it's not working for some games that I would expect it to work for. After digging further it appears that it's not working for games that store high scores in NVRAM. Here are 2 examples: In HS when I select Rush'n Attack on the wheel, HiToText kicks in and displays the score as expected (this game stores in "hi" file), but in HS when I select Tapper (rom = "tapper") on the wheel, HiToText does not kick in (game stores in "nvram" file). From the command line, I can switch to the HS folder and do "HiToText.exe -r <PathToTapperNVRAM>\nvram" and it displays the scores properly. I'm running MAME v0.180. The "hi2txt.zip" file is also located in the root of the HS folder. I've downloaded the latest version of HiToText, but that did not help. I also tried downloading the latest hiscore.dat, but that did not change anything either. Not even sure I can take the newest written for the current version of MAME and dump it into v0.180, but I figured it was worth a shot...doesn't work either way. I did notice that based on the stats page, it shows Tapper as of version 0.198. Thinking this might be factor since I'm on v0.180, I performed the same test on Root Beer Tapper (rom = "rbtapper"), which is listed as version 0.30. Same applies to this game...HiToText in HS does not display the score, but it does if I run the command from command prompt. Root Beer Tapper also stores the high score in NVRAM. Any ideas? Thanks. thrilhouse19
So I'm having a weird issue.... I am migrating to a new machine for HyperSpin / MAME (now running 224, "upgrading" from 154) and I'd like to save my old hiscores if possible. I have all new roms for 224 and copied a hiscore.dat file from the old mame folder to the new one. I also did the same for the .hi files in /hi and /nvram folders. In HyperSpin, Hitotext shows me the correct old scores and generally works fine (I am using a new exe and xml I downloaded from sourceforge). But when I actually run a game, the highscores are NOT the ones from my old installation and don't match what Hitotext shows in HyperSpin. So any idea where the data siconnect is coming from? Thanks. There was a change to the hiscore function of MAME somewhere between your old and new version. Give this a read...should give you some insight or at least point you in the right direction: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=156579.

slizzap
Mr. Do's Castle (docastle) also not working with HiToText. It generates a "hi" file just like Mr. Do, which works just fine. In game high score table is also working fine for both. Both games on the supported list. Any input on this?
