I know I'm a little late to the game, but I was testing some games and ran across Chrono Cross, and watched the opening cinema. It's got an AMAZING theme, and I looked up lots of versions, but this one is my favorite:

This one's actually because every time I go to my local arcade (Galloping Ghost), the Arkanoid 2 machine is one of the loudest in the place and has some really loud bass too. The intro tune is so catchy, sometimes I'll play games surrounding it just to hear the tune. Honestly the video does it no justice, without the bass it's just not the same.

Another song that holds a special place in my heart, it's easily my favorite tune of the 8-bit era. I loved it so much, I made it my girlfriends ringtone, so that every time she called I could hear it. And then we broke up... and it kinda ruined the song for a while for me. I'm a bit sad to see only 16 posts on a 2 year old thread but I enjoyed every bit of it.

Here are some of my favorites in no particular order and damn was it hard to keep it only to 10 entries. There are so many games and good music.

Some are extended versions cause the tune is so damn catchy, I never want it to stop.

 

Off course there has got to be megaman in this list
