Some dos Project in the works

Hi guys so me and sji plus drill is gonna be doing a dos project

im handling a way of how the box artwork is gonna be done maybe even discs or cds if we get that far

drill is making wheel art right now

and sji is gonna help with the box artwork we hope to have the orginal mint type boxes dos had in the old school times but for now im doing cd type cases heres an example of 3 they need a lil polishing up but tell me what you think of it.

we might plan having both types made up and avalible

thanks to one of the hyperspin members ive found a good use of covers to use im gonna start doing them in alhabetical order as well has anyone got a old dos box template i could use to produce a group of the old school boxes everyone fundly grew up with.

i will start putting more into production soon and thx for all your support

Actually mate later on they put cd cases with cds in the actual boxes i know before that they contained disks but in all honesty the diskettes would look ugly cause they had no cover just plain lables so i dont see the point of making those avalible but i may do that as well.

well drillu said he had a database of his own so i might go by that one also bad news guys im afraid the torrent i found of covers alot of them have moby games logo on them so we may have to redraw quite a few of them =( i hate how moby games have done that pisses me off

Yes, that's one of the lists, there are 5, one for each genre/torrent. Huge? Yes of course, it's DOS. You started this thread after-all, did you think it was going to be small?

Relic, the scans will require some touching up, especially in making the colors more vibrant (they seem very bland).....I would help you on this in PS but have a few projects on my plate. You will have to find that sweet spot in PS.

Google some tutorials on these:

Image > Adjustments > Levels: Often the better way to adjust brightness & contrast

Image > Adjustments > Vibrance: Adjust vibrance & saturation

Filter > Noise > Reduce Noise: Reduce (color) noise (I prefer this over Surface Blur, also don't overdo it)

Edit > Fill (Content-Aware): Fill a selection and PS will guesstimate what should've been there and fill the selection with that. Great for clearing objects, text etc from larger surfaces like skies or grass

Tools > Healing / Patch / Clone Stamp Tool: Very handy for cleaning away lines, text, all sorts of things from box art for example

I know we've still got a ways to go in unifying what's in the thread, particularly with the XML, etc. Honestly, we should probably leave out Windows games like Diablo and such for another thread, since this has DOS right in the title, but anyway...
