Main Hack Wheel...

Recommended Posts

Once an idea, now a working system, if you guys wanted a dedicated Hacked Games Wheel, you can have it now.

Get medias here, it should have both medias for the Main Menu folder and the Hacked Games system itself.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1515hhd-AlANXZRUFJuRGdFNUk

Emulator - As a multi system, Hacked Games wheel uses games from NES to NDS, it has games from the 8-bit era to the 64 bit era, I tried making it as simple as it could, so, with RocketLauncher folks help, I managed to make Retroarch emulate everything, you won't have to config anything if you copy all rocket launcher files to their correct locations.

Settings (Put this ini inside the main settings folder under Hyperspin main folder)

Notes:

The media pack should have everything, from wheels to videos, all videos are located in subfolders by systems, but you should cut and place all them together like other systems, I just did that so I could arrange everything better, not letting any video be missing when I was recording them.

Thanks to Adam, Dime, Agent47, Gigapig, all rocket launcher guys and you.

Some more notes:

When gathering nice hacks, I couldn't just add everything since it would be an endless work, and even if I added everything, I also wanted something that had quality content, so I focused on the best hacks I could find, and I know that there are amazing hacks to be added and new are available everyday, but we have lots of enhancements, additions, simple hacks, funny hacks, most are really nice, tons of Sonic and Mario hacks to play, but we also have some obscure systems too, like PC Engine and Famicom Disk System hacks. Feel free to add new stuff.

I think it's a cool idea.

There's lots of custom artwork for these games through google image searches too.

I have a messy list of hack names I created a while ago for various systems. Ones I thought looked like the 'best'. It's by no means exhuastive but it's got a good amount. Mostly Sonic and Mario hacks, but such is the nature.

That's a start, if you could share these so we can work on collecting more stuff, it can turn into something really interesting and fun.

Don't worry, dealing with hacks shouldn't be that organized at all lol, that's a nice list to start with, do you have medias for this? I assume most wheels can use a template or something, do you have videos, and finally can you post your xmls via paste bin?

I remember that we have some enhancements for Mega Drive/Genesis, some guys fixed colors for some games, and even fixed the Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition hoarse voice overs, also for Super Street Fighter 2, he fixed the PCM driver and colors pallet to look like more of those Arcade versions, and he said that Capcom was lazy as Mega Drive/Genesis was perfectly capable of running a better game, with better sound and colors, what a guy! These are must have for our hacks aren't they?

I'm going to create some 16x9 themes to start with something.

Yeah hacks like that are great, there are TONS of arcade color restorations and color fixes in general on the Genesis.

I don't have any special XMLs created, I've only implemented a few hacks, and I've done so right in their system wheels.

As far as media, the only thing I have is a handful of genesis 2D boxes. I'd have to track them down in my system later tonight though. (I'm at work lol)

Also I have no idea what pastebin is lol.

Ah the magazine logo, can you post that? It's needed for the main menu changer app

I'm interested in people willing to help in this project, if this wheel will be useful for anything but that, does that mean there's a list of hacked games somewhere already?

Nah there isn't one yet. Knew life build a wheel changer so we can have wheels grouped by console, handheld etc. magazines are one of the genres and we need the wheel art. I see you have nice magazine art! Please post. Ur project is a good one and isn't around yet

Although I'm not planning on adding boxes and carts to this system, I'm getting Reprogen medias since it has most of these boxes for hacked games:

So I probably finished Genesis collection, at least the first choices, now I'm going to SNES.

Looking for things that worth playing, when we talk about hack we usually think that it's garbage or something like that, when, in fact, there's funny, interesting things and surprisingly things, that's the case of SNES MSU1 games which I just got to know, it seems to be a resource SNES had but was never used, so we can have and they exist, CD audio tracks for some of the greatest games SNES ever had, take a look at the DK2 video below:

And Chono Trigger

They'll be in our Hacked Games database.
