Yeah sure it could be converted. The parts I used are: pololu simple motor controller http://www.pololu.com/product/1372 12v DC motor from eBay 4" lazy Susan bearing Mounting hub http://www.pololu.com/product/1083 Brackets http://www.pololu.com/product/1084 Regular microswitches to stop the rotation/motor. Agrajag Posted August 1, 2014 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I've been meaning to ask, does the monitor rotate into a perfectly horizontal / vertical orientation and lock into position and did it take a lot of trial and error to make it rotate by the right amount? I would love to build a cab with a rotating screen, but I'm not sure I have the skills to make it look as professional as yours, and it would drive me mad if the screen was always slightly wonky. connorsdad Posted August 1, 2014 Author Share Posted August 1, 2014 It rotates perfectly, it keeps going until it hits a limit switch (microswitch) which cuts the motor. The plane itself can be off if your monitor is heavier on 1 side, mine is off slightly but I need to pull it apart shortly so I'll either add a counter weight or castor underneath. In that video I did but eventually swapped it for a piece of wood slightly bigger than the vesa mount area to save on weight. I have an aluminium bar that runs the full length of the monitor attached to the piece of wood, this bar in turn hits the limit switches. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

connorsdad Posted October 18, 2014 Author Share Posted October 18, 2014 I've read that you should plug 1 gun in and calibrate, then remove that gun before plugging in and calibrating the 2nd gun. I then verified gun 1 was calibrated still, switched to the second one and calibrated it. Rebooted and verified both were calibrated. Not sure why, but the reboots seemed to help because I did have a bear of a time calibrating them at first. I have not had a problem since using them together or separate. The one issue I have is that they change names/designations in MAME every time I boot up, although they never loose their calibration. Meaning when I use them one time, they are gun1 and gun2. The next time I boot up they are gun4 and gun3. The time after that, gun2 and gun4. etc etc etc. Not a HUGE deal, as I just set them in the global settings. it is a little annoying but only takes a minute. The 1 out of 5/6 boot ups where the id has changed, simply reboot and they will be back as they were. I needed them to stick as Sega model 2 and 3 required it. Keeping my vpin and sega rally 2 plus I'm just about to take delivery of a sit down racer.
