Simple System Wheel Creator

Currently at work. Just tried it here on a Windows 7 system and same result. It asks for the Hyperspin folder and the Imagamagick folder and than nothing. Could it be looking for a specific file such as a dll is not finding it?

Or could some software be interfering with it?

I tried it in safe mode. Same result, however when I tried to shut down windows I got a pop up message with the following:

.NET-BroadcastEventWindow.4.0.0.0.2bf8098.0:WheelCreator.exe-Application error

The exception unknown software exception (0xe0434352) occured in the application at location 0x75e8c42d

Styphelus, I had this same problem last night. I banged out like 3 wheel sets then it just stopped working. What remedied it for me was deleting the wheel creator folder in app data and changing the name of the folder the wheel creator was in. I'm on windows 8.1 x64 BTW. Restarted the app, selected directories and all was fine.

Another bug I found out is the app does NOT like when you turn shadow off. If you do, it processes the wheels but doesn't output anything, but it's easily remedied by leaving shadow on and just turning the level down to 1.

A question: Does anyone know how to force the program to bang out the wheels in all Capitals? I'm making a PSP & PS2 Wheel set with the official PS2 font, and the wheels would look alot better if they were drawn in Caps instead of Caps then lowercase.

Since the program reads the xml, I tried converting the database XML text to all caps in Notepad++, but the app throws an error when I do that. So right now I'm trying to find the correct syntax to find and replace text in the game name quotes ONLY, but I can't nail it.

Could add option for that but for the time being you could try a font that is capitals only.

Well, yeah it should work like this to. Changing just the descriptions to CAPS?

I had pondered putting this into the other app. That is using hyperspin media now, it may be worth doing and should solve those dodgy issues.

Anybody? I really want to get this working.

Thanks in advance.

You are running the wrong exe Craig. Run the other one in the folder and it should boot.

Yes, I have .net version 4.5.1 and ImageMagick. I got it to start up twice but it asks to select a folder (what folder would that be?). Than it asks to pick the hyperspin folder and than asks to pick the imagemagick folder and when I click the ok button it disappears. It doesn't start again unless I restart the computer. I've tried on Windows 8.1 64bit and Windows 7 32bit. Same exact result.

Edit: Never mind - Got it working. This is great for my DOS games. Thanks.

how did u get it working

when i click on .exe...nothing

i have net and imagemagick things installed

thanks

so far so good?

so what is the agreed upon size for wheels?

400 x 175?

thanks

this thing is awesome!

thanks

Just a side note on this, it's easy to assume that having only one of these ratios in line is ok. The correct way to size the wheels is this.

1. Image/trim

2. Image/image size(keeping aspect, most of the time only one dimension will fall in line)

3. Pad the image with empty pixels using image/canvas size) so that you are left with an image with EXACTLY 400x175 dimensions.

Couldn't get it to start either, tried 32 & 64 bit versions of imageshack, Renamed the Simple Wheel folder, deleted this settings; nothing.

But I must have had an old version in my Apps folder, I tried it and it worked.

It made the Amiga Demo wheels I wanted (and worked with no shadow) but the damn Amiga Demo names are too bloody long, LOL. AbsoluteInebriationv11Fairlight&VirtualDreams

Some are OK.

Glad you got it to work. One day this program stopped working and that was it. I've never been able to get this to work again. I would remove the (USA, Europe) from the name and create several different versions with colours and fonts and than mix them all up for variety.

Strange, I can see you have the "regions" in , with the wheel name on the image.

There's a filter that removes any regions from the description, well it's supposed too, first time I've seen that.

I'm almost done fixing into the the HLM-Check program. This shadow problem has been addressed now, someone did mention about this before a while back.
