HyperSpeech being updated for HS1.4

Otherwise the proxy starts HyperSpeech, and it could be that it is trying to send the welcome message the TTS speech object before it is created.

Not sure if I did correctly, I set the path in HyperHQ to the Blinky in the Hyperspeech folder the set the Realblinky path in the Hyperspeech ini to the one in EDS and set use real blinky to true.

The is then repeated very often and then also stutters on sub wheel. I may have something wrong of course.

you may still have eds have setting for hyperspeechproxy to run, need to dusable or remove inside eds

just to mention eds is now updated to 0.8 1 and now can be used together with hyperspeech...

you have it in this order though

hs > eds > hyperspeechproxy
with hyperspeech relay to real ledblinky set to false.

just for note.
hs > hyperspeechproxy > eds
still have issue with button light up on game highlight

Hi everybody and THANKS for the HyperSpeech update.

Finally the system name works, but only if you upgrade to HyperSpin 1.4.

The 'welcome message' doesn't work but it worked with the last versions of HS 1.3 and HSpeech 0.9.

All settings are right, files renamed and no eds or realblinky here.

here the mini guide tofor hyperspeech to work with eds

SETUP FOR MAIN DISPATCHER AS EDS

HYPERHQ

1. Main Setting Tab > Tool Tab
2. LEDBLINKY ENTRY: Bubble in Enabled
3. Click "grey folder" icon then select the root folder of EDS (Event Dispatcher System)

2 click the button "..." select hyperspeechproxy.exe in the root folder of hyperspeech addon.
3.Fill areas as you exactly see below to make function with EDS

Increasing MainSpeechDelay from 1000 to 10000 without results, and tweaking HSStartSpeechDelay from 10 to 10000 without results too.

HSStartSpeechDelay=10
MainSpeechDelay=1000
GameSpeechDelay=0
SystemSpeechDelay=0

I am sorry to hear that, when I find the time I will look into it, but I'm working on an updated version that will better handle speech when going into genres.
Also busy with incorporating a feature to select sub-genres when in the genre wheel.
Won't be soon as I have tons of other thing going on in my life, but I will keep you guys informed.

Thanks for answer Boogie. With the 0.9 versión all is ok but without the system names and running HyperSpin 1.3.

With 1.0 beta versión and HyperSpin 1.4 the system name are ok but no welcome message.

Hi Guys, 

Just a quick question. I read thru the posts here and need to clarify something. I am running the newest Beta of HyperSpeech which is compatible with HyperSpin 1.4 etc. Speech works upon launching into HyperSpin, and also works fine when going thru the wheel and calling out the various system names on the wheel, MAME, Atari 2600, Commodore 64 etc. It also calls out each game within an emulator such as Pac-Man, DigDug Etc.

The only thing that is not working, is then I am back on the System Wheel and going thru the various systems, I do not get the speech for the Bio....? So for MAME, I am not hearing the "MAME, an acronym of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator is an emulator application designed to..."

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get that working?

This forum is awesome and really appreciate the help and effort you all do to add such cool features!

I have downloaded the latest version and launching with EDS as LEDBlinky,  but seems the BIOS still not working, only game names

Hi Giga,

I had this one on the shelves for a long time and I totally forgot about what I was working on.
Recently I freed up some time to fix my speech engines and my HS install, dig into the HyperSpeech code and continue what I was working on,  and to do some testing.
I ran into some issues with the Ivona speech engines I used which made me decide to switch over to Vocalizer Expressive TTS engines.
The downside of that was that I needed to check tons of game titles for correct speech and started finetuning the .dat file.
This still will take a lot of time,  so in the meantime I didn't want to let you guys wait any longer and decided to upload this stuff tonight.

Main menu speech is working, also the speech in the genre menu is fixed as well is some other speech issues.
I created an subgenre addon for the MAME genre menu as well, which I think is pretty cool.

This feature makes it possible to "filter" the genre menu on horizontal, vertical or default by pressing the genre button multiple times.
You will need to set up numerous MAME genre databases properly before you can use this.
There is a little bit of  info about this in the readme file, but I didn't have time to create a decent tutorial yet (sorry about that).
Maybe I can explain you guys a little more here...

First you need to set up the MAME genre databases, you need to have an xml for every genre, and a genres.xml.
To enable the subgenres in HyperSpeech, you need to create a file called "subgenres.xml" which contains:

  <subgenre name="Default"/>
  <subgenre name="Vertical"/>
  <subgenre name="Horizontal"/>
</menu>

(Keep in mind that the subgenre names above need to correspond to the 3 subfolders you previously created...)

For the subgenres to work you need to create a subfolder "Horizontal", "Vertical" and "Default" in the MAME database folder (Hyperspin\Databases\MAME). 
You copy your original genre xml's to the "Default" folder and in the other two folders you need to place the same list of xml's, but with only either vertical or horizontal  games in it.
You can do this manually, but I recommend to grab the MAME database collection zip (MAME 0.18x XML.zip) from http://retrofe.nl/download/ that corresponds with your MAME version (if possible).
Select the appropiate xml's in the folder MAME 0.18x\Genre, as you can see it has many sorted genre databases and also sorted genre database for both vertical and horizontal games.

The way this works is like this:
HyperSpeech copies the xml's from these 3 folders to the Hyperspin\Databases\MAME folder based on your selection by pressing the genre key multiple times.

Sweet! I have system bios for most every system, well at least the core 125 or so. Do you want a copy of that? What's this genre and subgenre bit? Can you attach a video of what you mean? Glad to see you back!
