Has anyone had any luck getting the Main Menu and bios working via EDS? All fine without EDS but not with it. Been testing the new version but I still only get sub wheel speech and bio.

Thank you.

Sweet! I have system bios for most every system, well at least the core 125 or so. Do you want a copy of that? What's this genre and subgenre bit? Can you attach a video of what you mean? Glad to see you back!

Hi mate,

I allready grabbed this ini file of yours, and will look into it.
Maybe with next package I will include it.
Thanks for sharing it :good:

Is Vocalizer Expressive TTS free and could you post a link to what we need to download?

Vocalizer Expressive is being discontinued, but...
I found out you can grab a trial of all the Nuance and Ivona voices from harposoftware.com.
There are different multipacks available per voice brand with Speech2Go included like:

Salli, Justin, Eric, Joey, Kimberly - 5 US English voices pack with Speech2Go
http://dnld.harposoftware.com/6oj4uhk7pn8gmjing/104_S2G+5_American_English_Voices.exe

Salli, Joey, Brian, Amy, Russell - 5 English voices pack (2 American voices, 2 British, Australian voice) with Speech2Go:
http://dnld.harposoftware.com/6oj4uhk7pn8gmjing/102_S2G+5_English_Voices.exe

6 Various English Nuance Voices (OLIVER, MOIRA, FIONA, TESSA, TOM, KAREN)
(English – GB, English – Ireland, English – Scotland, English – South Africa, English – US, English – Australia Speech2Go included :
http://dnld.harposoftware.com/6oj4uhk7pn8gmjing/1409_6_english.exe

6 American English Nuance Voices (ALLISON, AVA, NATHAN, SAMANTHA, SUSAN, TOM), Speech2Go included:
http://dnld.harposoftware.com/6oj4uhk7pn8gmjing/1407_6_englishUS.exe

Next you need to obtain a serial code for each voice and enter it in the registration tool.
You can either buy these voices or try your luck with a different solution like a torrent file or magnet link on the Internet,  like "Nuance Speech2Go" or "Ivona Speech2Go".

Have you solved this problem ?

This is the same issue as my old version.

Why is this a problem with HyperSpeech?
If you remove EDS it works fine with the parameters HS sends to LEDBlinky .

HyperSpeech was build around the way HS sends parameters to LEDBlinky.
The proxy (or LEDBlinky) starts and closes on each parameter change.
EDS did this in earlier builds as well, but that has changed.

I tried several different settings in EDS, but I could not find an option to make EDS behave the exact way with parsing the parameters to HyperSpeech.
The only way to get HyperSpeech to work for now is to place HyperSpeech in front of EDS and let HyperSpeech parse the parameters to EDS
by editing the followin two entries in the HyperSpeech.ini file:

RealLedBlinkyActive=true
RealLedBlinkyPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\AntosSoft\EDS Installer Setup\

Please note: if you had EDS configured to run HyperSpeech, delete or disable that entry, otherwise you will end up in a loop!
This is a workaround that seems to work for me. Give it a try...
When I have the time I try to look for another solution...

Thank you again Boogie for the above information, now for the results.

So following the guide above and checking this post from @sevenseal ,what happens now is this.

Hyperspeech is working but now EDS/Hypermarquee is only showing the main menu marquee, nothing happens on the sub wheel; I get no marquee image or HitToText.

So basically which ever way around you do it, either Hyperspeech has no intro or main menu bio speech or no sub wheel from Hypermarquee.

EDIT: Just noticed that the Marquee image does finally appear but only when I start the game.

Hi Giga,

I tried all EDS settings and the found that the [ledblinky] parameter should be the one that should work.

Unfortunately with this setting EDS doesn't send the "Main Menu" parameter with event 9 while in the HS main menu which is crucial for HyperSpeech to work.

When you view the HS log.txt you can see that HS sends that to LEDBlinky with event 9 while in main menu.

If EDS fixes that or has a dedicated parameter setting for HyperSpeech like [hyperspeech] that sends the "Main Menu" system parameter things should work properly.

For this we (or I) need to get in contact with Antos to try to fix...

I will incorporate it

Hi Guys,

This is an easy one. This was fixed by BBB within HS version 1.4.15. See below the message from BBB.

HS version 1.4.15

  • Added can now use default theme for main menu. Whats different about having a default theme as some may now is that they don't get reloaded when going from one item to next that don't have themes. This allows for a cleaner experience vs reloading individual copies of default themes.
  • Added if a theme doesn't have a background in the zip file then it was only attempting to load a png background, from the backgrounds folder of the item name. Now it can load swf and also default.png and default.swf.
  • Added Shortcut key F6 to toggle fullscreen and windowed. For windowed to work resolution must be set to resolution lower than fullscreen.
  • Added Ledblinky 9 for main menu and Ledblinky 8 for switching menus (not sure if this one is even needed)
  • Fixed - HyperSpin not shutting down sometimes.

Cheers,

JY

EDIT: So EDS is now picking up any menus/wheel. HyperSpeech should work perfectly by being launched by EDS instead.

Hi Antos,

Thanks for the reply and for mentioning that HS 1.4.15 offers the event 9 Main Menu option for LEDBLinky.
This is exactly what I am referring to and it is a crucial parameter for HyperSpeech to run.
I did some tests with EDS and it looks like the [ledblinky] parameter does not parse the "Main Menu" parameter with event 9.
I created a 2 new CLI applications with a voice program called say.exe. The first one I configured the [ledblinky] parameter (only) and
the second one I configured  [event] "[game]" "[system]".

Now... when I enable the first one and run HyperSpeech and while turning the main menu wheel, the application (say.exe) speaks only the [event] and "[game]" parameter, but not "[system]".
When I enable the other application, all 3 parameters are then being spoken, but unfortunately  not all events seem to be corerctly send which crashes HyperSpeech.

HyperSpeech needs the exact same parameters that HS sends, can you make a 1 on 1 passthrough or maybe fix the 9 "game""Main Menu" parameters?
I've included the say.exe for this test purpose itselve.

Cheers,

Boogieman

I might have a workaround for the Main Menu speech in HyperSpeech when you trigger HyperSpeech from EDS:

Create both applications for the HyperSpeech LEDBlinky (or HyperSpeechProxy) as below:
59cab826757af_HyperSpeechwithEDS.png.6fa62404a553b7db58c19a00b0326cbe.png
the first one only works for Main Menu, the second one works for all the rest ;-P
For the time being it is either this or trigger EDS from HyperSpeech's LEDBlinky..

Hope you guys can work with this solution for now...

Glad that it worked. Yes Boogie, within EDS you can pass any params that HS sends.

One question, why don't you call HyperSpeech directly from EDS instead of LedBlinky?

I.e HyperSpeech ~ CLI  ~  [event] "[game]" "[system]"

Antos,

HyperSpeech is an AHK script that remains in memory and is feeded by OnMessage posts from the HyperSpeechProxy (aka LEDBlinky). It doesn't use named pipes like HyperMarquee. If you can help me understand how that works with AHK or if you can send me some line of AHK sample codes I can start re-coding HyperSpeech for IPC for optimal integration with EDS.

So I posted a workaround, but it still isn't fixed... for the real fix I would like to ask you to please make an EDS parameter profile [hyperspeech ] for us HyperSpeech users, that is a copy of [ledblinky] but which  can send the "Main Menu" text with event 9 while in the Main Menu. The [ledblinky] parameter does not do that.

Fixing the [ledblinky] parameter should also do the trick.

Hope you can help us out here.

Regards,

BóÒgieman

I wil have a look at it. Still looks like HyperSpeech works best atm when triggered from HS.

I get messages when I hit start and when closing a game back to to wheel.  I had removed the text from the ini for returning back to the wheel but added it back in.

That's strange potts43... it similar to the behaviour I have when a load error occurs with an emulator.
Do you use RockerLauncher?

Regards,

BóÒgieman

I will be happy to look at it at one point of time 'cause you did a great job with that tool. It's just that I am crazy busy on developing a new frontend for the community since the last 2 years. Glad that you found a work around in the mean time. You are one of the most clever person around here.
