I don't think I'm a dummy. I've been using Apple products for years and years. They just work. Never have issues. I've got better things to do with my time than to mess around with my phone not working. I had switched to a Samsung Galaxy S4 at one point, but it just couldn't hold a candle to the reliability of my iPhone.

No, they don't just work. Apple products have tons of issues, from laptops overheating to the point of melting, to severe issues with their motherboards completely failing. Apple computers are well known for crashing and giving you the spinning beach ball. Recently one of their updates was wiping out people iPads and iPhones completely. Don't even get me started on iTunes. That thing is like a virus spreading files all over the hard drive. I had a well organized music collection with 500x500 covers for every album. iTunes decided to re-organize everything and give me low res covers and rename all my albums to Greatest Hits. Good thing I had a backup. And why does it have to wipe out my iPod every time I sync the thing? My iPod and my wife's Mini as well, crash periodically. And why can't I customize my equalizer? Apple infuriated me to the point of giving up on it. Sold my iPad and the MacPro is nothing more than a facebook machine at my house. Still have the iPods which I use when going to the gym but I also have a Cowon J3 and that thing sounds amazing. From my experience they are machines for dummies. Great for people who don't know how to use a PC but for for anyone who does, the restrictions and awkwardness of how they expect you to do things are enough to drive someone nuts.

I always look down on people who purchase stuff as a status symbol. I think they are terrible, self centered and selfish people in need of attention.

Having said that, and being someone who hates Apple products (I have 2 - don't ask), I wouldn't mind an Apple version of Hyperspin. Would have saved me a year of my life that I spent configuring this thing.

That's the whole reason I hacked my original iphone. It was a cool "base" ... but it wasn't customizable the way I wanted. This was pre-themes, pre-appstore, etc. I like Apple's style for somethings and I'm not a hater, I just like the option to do anything. And I don't mind spending time messing with electronics or hardware. I actually hear that a bit around here, and can attest to myself, once I get a system setup 100% to my liking, a lot of the time I don't even game right afterwards. (That may just because some of us are "old" and have jobs, families, etc) However, I have fun problem solving and perfecting things. I also know, that when I do want to play, it will be EXACTLY the way I want it to be, when I do.

Actually, they do just work. Not Apple's fault if people use substandard third party chargers that overheat and damage batteries. Please tell me how Apple computers crash more than Windows PC's? You sound like an Android fanboy with an agenda, and not a lot of real experience, as I do.

The problem is basically everything that has software and hardware can (and will) crash. Damn, even my nokia 3330 crashed once or twice.

What's driving crazy many non-apple users is the fact that many apple's users proudly state their device NEVER crash. OSX is more stable than windows and has a better memory managment BUT if you avoid to fill a windows os with "junk" it will more stable than you can ever imagine. I remember people saying that earlier symbian os phone were too much unstable... just because tons of people were randomly deleting system's files with Fexplorer. The result? Nokia locked system folder to avoid people messing with their phones. It's ok to have a "protection" for non-techie people but a SERIOUS product should include "unlock code" for power users.

Another problem: many people tends to compare macpro to intel core i... mac pro uses more realible XEON processors, you should compare it to a xeon workstation.

And yes... imac tends to almost "melt down" while used "seriously" (es emulation, as it will constantly push cpu to 100%). They're designed to be "cool" (lol) and made for "light" tasks, they just can't stand somthing like 10 hours rendering or other stuff like that.

I don't have a smartphone and I have never used Android. My phone is still a flip phone that makes calls and receives calls which is all I want from a phone.

It's not the 3rd party charges that causes overheating, it's their lack of proper airflow internally, especially on their laptops. It's a well documented design flaw. Their faulty motherboards due to exploding capacitors is another well documented flaw and it's happened to at least 2 people I know (they thought their Macs had rust-LOL!). As for their updates wiping peoples iPhones and iPad, had quite a few people in the office complaining about it just a few weeks ago. Google is your friend.

I don't have an agenda, just telling you of my experiences with the Apple hardware I have and have used and own. Windows PCs crash mostly due to 3rd party software or cheap hardware. Macs however are supposed to "just work" and have this well build "closed garden system" but they crash just as much as windows PCs full of 3rd party software and hardware used for a multitude of strenuous tasks. Apple's software is neat and well integrated but again, not very customizable and doesn't give the user a lot back in terms of freedom. It's the Apple way or no way! Believe me, I've tried liking it. I've tried finding a use for my Mac (it's my wife's actually). I've tried finding a use for the iPad I had (sold it because it was collecting dust). I still use my iPod on a regular basis but again, it a play/stop music player. Can't do much else with it.

You have your opinion and I have mine. I like being in control of my machines and gadgets, not the other way around.

This is a thread about the iPhone, and you don't even have a smartphone. Maybe stick to the topic then instead of spreading misleading info. I've got no room in my life for haters of anything.

What an immature comment. Just because someone does not like the products from a particular brand that you are obviously in love with, and has explained why they don't like them with more than valid reasons, does not make them haters.

Also, if no one complained or criticized anything, nothing would ever change or improve. The reason everything keeps improving is because companies will listen to these so called haters that you hate so much (oh the irony) and change their products accordingly. You should be grateful that there are people out there with opinions. Otherwise you would still be living in a cave because by your logic, everyone should be happy with it. Can you believe that someone actually hated a cave and decided to build a house? Grow up.

I trashed Apple products based on my experience with my wife's MacBook Pro, my ex-iPad and my current iPod along with their software, namely iTunes that I still have installed on my wife's MacBook and had installed on my old PC but have since replaced with Media Monkey which is by a far a much superior product. So yes, I have plenty of experience with their other products other than their iPhone. I never mentioned the iPhone did I? I also work with plenty of people who are Apple fans and hear them discussing their horror stories, and a quick search on the net confirms they are not alone.

Apple is just a brand, a huge corporation that like many others abuses it's employees in China, charges a premium for their products to offset their huge advertising costs and funnels it's profits through Ireland to avoid paying taxes in the USA. So why do you get all up in arms over them?

I have no brand loyalties. I just go for what fits my needs and buy based on need, specs and reviews. Yes, I bought an iPod once based on hype and I learned my lesson.

Sadly nearly all mobiles right now are built by "hey we have in-house suicides records" foxconn

I red a very interesting articles about steve jobs and obama, obama was asking jobs why he moved iphone's production in china, he answered "well, expenses is not the real problem. The problem is in china I can build a new factory with 5k workers in a week, in USA I can't". No concern for environment and modern slavery: here's "what" usa and europe citizens has to compete with...

I have recently had the chance to work with apple on their new apple pay, as I am a software engineer for the largest US bank and we helped bring apple pay out hence our card on all the ad's. :) It was great working with them while they are crazy demanding I have always bought from them because I have yet to have an apple product fail. I also have windows machines and other platforms but their stuff just works. You can like who you like but I spend money on quality items, dont care about the rest and dont give into "sides"
