Pyramid_Head Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 No problem man. Thanks for your interest in these! Here is a quick mock up for Megaman. (Megaman walks continuous as Windows is loading) Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to add or any images you'd like me use as a background. Sadly we're only allowed one animated gif to use as the animation

BladeZX Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Would be cool if there was a way to randomize the boot screens. richie_jones Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 A mini game whilst loading would be proper retro!!
Pyramid_Head Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 True, though I'm not sure that is possible
Hyperion Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 What program did you use to replace the windows animation? I tried Windows 7 Boot Updater but I concluded that my computer was one of the few that just don't work with the program. I spent a full day animating but had now way of putting them to use. My first cocktail cab: The Hyper Arcade Entertainment System Win 7 64bit | i5 3570K Overclocked to 4.2GHz | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | GTX 970 Strix | Samsung 250GB 840 Evo SSD + 8x4TB green drives in RAID 5 for XBMC/KODI
Hyperion Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Oh and I'm a big Earthworm Jim fan too. From about mid 2003 to 2004 I watched Earthworm Jim on VHS before falling to sleep on a lounge just a few feet away from a perfectly good bed. Good times. I only had four episodes and I ran those VHS cassettes into the ground. In the end half the screen was green garbage but the sound was still good. One of my friends recently bought me the series on DVD and the kids love them. Hyperion Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 A mini game whilst loading would be proper retro!! I had this same idea as well the other day! Except it was for the startup program for HS. I thought a Mugen style bout with my own comic characters would be cool. It'd be kind of like the password for the cab ie if you can't beat the opponent you're locked out until you do. Trnzaddict Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Hunk, I have a request. A while ago a noob here made a bootscreen that had the hyperspin logo outer rainbow border glowing. It was a cool bootskin but he made the damn HS logo so small it looks weird. Can you something like that with the HS logo the same size as the EarthwormJim one used ?? I am......Machine
Pyramid_Head Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 @Hyperion Hmm not sure why it isn't working for you man, sometimes it seems to be a hit or miss with this program. You might be able to ask on the site. Nice to meet another EWJ fan!! The series is so awesome!! Sucks it's only two seasons. You lucky guys over there got it like a year ago on DVD. We were suppose to get it in July but it got postponed for an unknown reason I have shitty TV rips of it LOL. @Trnzaddict Sure man I can see what I can do. I can't promise anything though as I've never really done any animating before The images used in my bootscreens were pre animated gifs. I used Jascs Animation Shop to edit the gifs to work with Windows7Bootupdater.
Pyramid_Head Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Ok here are the request I have so far.. Star Wars Vader Various systems (arcade and consoles) Megaman HS logo glowing effect am I missing any?
jpac716 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 If it is not to much can I make one more request. Maybe a Simpsons theme. I really like your work so far especially with the pong one wish I could figure out how to use photoshop this well.
Pyramid_Head Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 Sure I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks! Nah, it's not anything special really. I used both PS and Animation Shop.
Pyramid_Head Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Just wanted to let you guys know, that I haven't forgotten about you. We had a power outage a week ago and it did something to my motherboard were it wouldn't post. ( I believe it messed up the bios) I got another better mobo off ebay and I'm expecting it tomorrow. Right now I'm, using my old AM2 motherboard out of my Mame cab it kinda sucks for the tasks I do in Photoshop etc.. even with my ssd LOL. can't wait to have my Q8200 back up and running. I know I know, it's not an i5 or i7 but I love it and I can't afford a newer mobo like that
jpac716 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Well best of luck with your problem and thanks for updating us.
johnodon Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I plan on doing a Day of the Tentacle theme for my pedestal cabinet. I would love a matching boot screen! John "There are some who call me.......Tim."
keno21176 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I apologize if this is consider a hijack or threadcrap, but has anyone gotten these (or any boot screens) to work on a low-res VGA CRT? my neimann crt maxes at 640x480x60hz and i can't for the life of me figure out a way to force win7 to properly show a boot screen. i just get a trippy colored flashing line and a tick tick tick sound once i get past BIOS POST until windows welcome screen. can it be done??? K
Pyramid_Head Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 @johnodon sure thing! I'll see if I can find some gifs to use and maybe a background. Thanks for your interest Is that a Dos game btw? I don't think I've ever heard of it. But it looks sweet! @keno honestly man I'm not really sure. You might have better look asking here http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/restoring_winload/ I don't have access to a low res monitor/arcade monitor. I really wish I did. Anyway good luck with that! Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question. Either in this thread or on the site I linked. If you figure it out, please let us know
