Ok now that it's coming up there is a problem with how your hyper marquee is set up.

Can you post a pic of your event tab in the marquee settings, the artwork tab, and the folder your marquee is saved in?

Also is your media actually in a folder called arcade and not HyperSpin?

I see your still using hyperlaunch so means you are using file watcher its a little bit more complicated to set up. I am only familiar with Rocketlauncher set up without filewatcher. So I will do my best if not Antos or Sevenseal might have to jump in when they are not busy.

Also hit the Event tab for us on your Hypermarquee settings and grab a shot of that. Its your third screen shot I believe.

A little tip. To stop your computer from grabbing a screen shot of all your displays and windows if you click on the windows you want a screen shot of then press down and hold alt and hit your Print Screen key and it will grab a shot of only your active screen.

does the artwork display when you click the "TRY" on EDS?

I don't think this is a big deal but to clear confusion change those two files from notepad++ files back to XML. When i get home i will open up my marquee and eds and help figure this out. Just be patient and we will get it. If Antos reaches out to you on the filehelper side maybe that's your issue. Again I don't use the filechecker i have hyperspin 1.4. You would get rid of the head ache of having to set that up to allow this awesome program to work. You have set the path correctly to your marquee from eds correct? you don't have more than one instance of hypermarquee.exe anywhere?

Antos he explained that his hyper marquee now launches upon FE startup but no art work comes up my guess is a path to his art work somewhere is broken. 

I do have one question, I do not use filewatcher for i have the latest hyperspin and rocketlauncher along with he latest EDS but what was File watcher used for?

FileWatcher was mainly created to fix a limitation within HyperSpin. HyperSpin was not throwing any events in the main wheel so it was not possible to update HyperMarquee or any other third party applications other than in the sub game wheels. So to do the trick, file watcher was watching for any open videos into the Main Menu folder assuming that when HS was playing a particular video it was the selected System.

I'm going to update to update my hyperspin

 

That's good. Also one consideration and something else you can try:

1. Ignore the Try button not working in EDS for the moment I had a similar issue that may or may not be related but HM still worked outside of the EDS GUI (and you have now achieved that)

2. In your Artwork File path name change the path to: "D:\Arcade\Media\Mame\Images\[Filename].png   

 

My HM's would not work unless I specifically put the Mame directory rather than [system] in the path. I logged the issue here but it was dismissed as being something at my end. So not saying that it is your problem but it's worth a try and if nothing else it means the path is pointing exactly to your folder where your artwork is. Obviously this won't work longer term if you are using multiple emulators but it may help troubleshoot your issue.

I think it was dismissed because it is not something that happens to everybody. Without that wild card how are your other system marquees working? You would have to go in and do an instance for each and every system.

Guys, EDS and HM may be case sensitive when using wild cards i.e "[game]" & "[system]". I am saying 'may' because my code might not be 100% robust there. Please test "[game]" "[system]" with all lower case and let me know. Ok, I did some more test, and EDS do not seems to have any issues with case sensitivity what so ever. Let me know if that is not the case for you.

Last point this Thread belongs to EDS, not HM. So please try to keep EDS and HM separate since they are 2 completely different app. Thank you.

I'm on win 7 32bit just so you know.

Understand the EDS / HM split but there is inevitably crossover between the two so jumping back and forward between threads depending upon the direction of a particular diagnosis is less than optimal. If it's a specific question pertaining to one or the other then I agree with you. Roc's issue could be either at this stage so trying to maintain that across both threads could be difficult to follow and assist.

It worked when I left mame the instead of changing it to system. I checked open when front end start but it stayed close

OK, so you are saying it now works when you hardcode MAME in the path rather than use System? 

Are you also saying that even though it works in Hyper Marquee it now doesn't open from EDS when you have checked the "Open when front end starts" option in EDS?

 

Can you confirm you updated to the most recent Hyperspin 1.4?

Can you also confirm that you disabled HSFileWatcher in EDS (if you did update Hyperspin)?

Perhaps repost a screenshot of your EDS config so we know what is currently configured.
