  1. Hey everyone! First off, a huge thank you to everyone who reported bugs, shared comments, and threw in suggestions over the past week. I’m doing my best to keep up, but it’s clear we’ve got an amazing group of testers who are leaving no stone unturned. You all rock! So, it’s been a week—where’s the next beta?! Well, here’s the scoop: we went back to the drawing board on the cache system. Based on your feedback and the discussions here, we realized we needed something more robust and foolproof. The good news? The updated cache system is in internal testing right now. During the final round, we uncovered a few extra things that need fixing before it’s ready to roll out. While we expect a few hiccups here and there, our goal is to have fewer issues than the current build. That’s why we’re holding off until next week. Here’s what you can expect in the new beta: No more _cache folder—saving you time and disk space. No waiting for cache rebuilds in the wheel manager. Faster cache rebuilds—our early metrics show it’s taking about 2 seconds per system. Smaller, more efficient cache files with better performance. Full support for overrides in the cache. We’re aiming for a Friday release! I’ll be out of town for a work event (yes, I’d rather be here with you all, but bills don’t pay themselves). While I’m away, the team will be wrapping up some final bugs in both HQ and HyperSpin. Here’s a short list of what’s on their plate: Wheel images show instead of text where possible in the system view. Custom system support: bypass match-making and add whatever you want. Name your system during the setup wizard. Steam updates to support more media. Fixed the default themes download bug. Auto-login added for EmuMovies when you get logged out. Option to remove collections in the manager. HQ update dialog no longer gets blocked by downloads. Bugfix for the plugin system to improve HyperSpin updates. Bezel project patch applied for smoother functionality. And let’s not forget our incredible content creators—they’ve been absolutely crushing it. If you haven’t already, check out @RetroHumanoid's latest themes—they’re amazing! And a massive shoutout to @baddeolvfor his work on the default HyperSpin set. He’s been tirelessly covering almost every core system we support, and the results speak for themselves. Plus, we’ve got a few new artists jumping in and experimenting with the updated toolset. The feedback and the flood of stunning new themes are a joy to see! After the next release, we’re diving into updates for the theme builder, focusing on bug fixes and workflow enhancements to make it even smoother. Future releases of the theme builder will introduce support for shaders, groups, and so much more. I can’t wait to get started! As always, thanks for all your support, feedback, and enthusiasm—it’s what keeps us going. Can’t wait to see what’s next! Stay awesome, -fr0stbyt3

  2. Hey yall! Welcome to our new Hyperspin! For anyone who used/uses Launchbox,I am sure you might have heard of the theme I created back in 2018 called Unified Refried. It is currently the 2nd highest downloaded theme for LB,only sitting under City Hunter 2,which was released over a full year before it,at a time where custom themes were not rampant. Refried covers over 220+ systems, each with HQ artwork, creating a unified and colorful look across all platforms, while also looking professional. Despite how long this is going to take me (and it will) I have decided to bring that theme over to Hyperspin! I will gradually be adding more and more to it in HyperTheme during this beta period, and hope that users will download, and enjoy using it in their setups. Any and all constructive criticism,or suggestions is always welcome. Hyperspin Refried Main Menu Theme - Hyperspin Refried Game Theme -

  3. First off, a huge thank you to everyone who’s been testing, reporting bugs, and sharing feedback. Your input has been invaluable, and I really appreciate the patience as we work through everything. I know we didn’t have a launch last week, and I wanted to address that. Some core systems—especially the cache system and UI updates—needed more work before they were ready. Rather than pushing out something unfinished, we took the extra time to make sure things were in a better state before releasing. It’s still a beta, so expect some rough edges, but we feel this build is in a much better place than it would have been last week. Over the past two weeks, we’ve overhauled the UI in all settings pages, made system setup smoother, optimized downloads, and added MUGEN support. You can now add multiple systems at once, pick multiple folders when selecting game directories, and we’ve made major improvements to cache handling, controller support, and error logging. Here’s what’s new: HyperHQ RetroArch Core Selector – No more manual typing! Select the core from a dropdown, and we’ll handle the command. For customization, click Advanced. System Setup Improvements – Automatically creates all override folders when adding new systems. New System Support – Added support for systems without a complete game list. Media Sounds Bug Fixed – Prevented duplicate downloads. Download Improvements EmuMovies video downloads are now optimized. Fixed issue where new downloads were not set as active. ROM Management Fix – Deleted games will no longer reappear. New Refresh Option – Added the ability to refresh overrides. MUGEN Support Added – Clear your system cache in the cache menu for the best experience. Updated System Add Component – Now supports adding multiple systems at the same time. Updated LED Blinky Support. Fixed Launching Error Logs. Multiple Folder Selection – Now possible when selecting game folders. Cache & Log System Improvements Updated Cache Service – Dozens of tweaks to fix corruption and errors. Updated Log System – More logs added for cache tracking. Updated UI for Cache Page – Improved settings menu for better navigation. UI Updates Updated UI for All Settings Pages – Improved design, layout, and usability across all settings menus. Updated UI for Intro & Outro Videos – Enhanced layout and functionality. Updated Plugin Page UI – Improved design and usability. HyperSpin Controller Fixes – Resolved issues where the main menu wasn’t responding to controllers. HyperTheme ThemeBuilder Fix – Fixed a double-select error. Profile Management Fix – Resolved errors when deleting a client. Collection Theme Errors Fixed – Various improvements for a smoother experience. In the Works: Revamped Controller Support One of the biggest things we’re working on right now is revamped controller support with direct HID input control. The goal is to eliminate the remaining controller issues and provide a more seamless, native experience. This is still in development, but early testing looks promising. More details soon! Thanks again for all your support, testing, and feedback. I know waiting an extra week for this one wasn’t ideal, but we wanted to make sure things were in a better place before pushing it out. As always, let me know if you run into anything, and we’ll keep making it better. Happy gaming!

    164,073 downloads

HyperSpin 1.5.1 NOTE: IF DOWNLOAD IS FAILING PLEASE DISABLE ANTIVIRUS 1.5.1 Support for Windows 10 v1083 Added support for animated wheels (http://hyperspin-fe.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=62249) Added sxs.dll as a separate download for Windows 10/11 users. Put this file in the same folder as HyperSpin.exe. See below. 1.4.16 Added video smoothing 1.4.15 Added can now use default theme for main menu. Whats different about having a default theme as some may now is that they don't get reloaded when going from one item to next that don't have themes. This allows for a cleaner experience vs reloading individual copies of default themes. Added if a theme doesn't have a background in the zip file then it was only attempting to load a png background, from the backgrounds folder of the item name. Now it can load swf and also default.png and default.swf. Added Shortcut key F6 to toggle fullscreen and windowed. For windowed to work resolution must be set to resolution lower than fullscreen. Added Ledblinky 9 for main menu and Ledblinky 8 for switching menus (not sure if this one is even needed) Fixed - HyperSpin not shutting down sometimes. 1.4.14 Fixed issue when launching certain software/emulators and HS taking focus. Fixed background music not working. Put music in Media\System\Sound\Background Music\Name.mp3 1.4.13 Fixed mp4 looping causing stuttering or black video Fixed returning from emu causing moving 1 wheel item when spinner is enabled Added Horizontal Wide wheel style for widescreen themes that can fit more wheel items 1.4.12 Fixed spinner and trackball only working in 1 direction Changed more fixes to joy controls. 1.4.11 Changed made some changes to joystick behavior, POV was interferring with analog and vice versa Fixed joystick not being able to stop intro video Fixed returning to HS from certain emulators causes HS to be squished. Fixed main menu always returning to last_system used when starting even though last_game is off. 1.4.10 Fixed no speakers bug, no speakers or headphones plugged in would crash HS Fixed HL relative path issue(i think) 1.4.9 Fixed strobe animation not working. I had to slow it down, due to the speed up of the new HS, i had to slow it down by a factor of 4 to get it to even work. So if it doesn't match up with HyperTheme, you know why. Fixed themes freezing when exiting theme. Fixed joystick support (i think) 1.4.8 Fixed skip up and skip down number not working Fixed letter wheel using wrong direction per wheel style Fix pin style was backwards, moves left to right now Added ability to use mp4 as intro video 1.4.7 Fixed % in filename issue when playing videos. Changed the behavior of pin and horizontal wheels due to a lot of complaints. Left and Right move the wheel and Up and Down select the letter wheel. The directions are fixed and should behave as expected now. 1.4.6 Added smoothing to letter images. Changed path to HScript, delete your old HScript.ahk and autohotkey.dll, Unzip now the script is in \Scripts\HScript\HScript.ahk, this allows the autohotkey.dll not to interfere with the one other programs use in the main root, sorry to those that got their old autohotkey.dll overwritten. 1.4.5 Release to private beta 1.4.4 Changed - See above Fixed - HyperLaunch error, hopefully. 1.4.3 Added - Allow relative path to launcher i.e ( .\Folder\HyperLaunch.exe") where the dot represents the HyperSpin directory. Doesn't do relative double dots though for going up a folder. Added - Disable item in main menu i.e ( <game name="MAME" enabled = "0"/>, just add enabled ="0" to any system and it will disable it. if there is no enabled attribute or you have it set to 1 then the game will show. Added - Disable item in sub menu , same as above. 1.4.2 Added - Smoothing to special artwork png's Added - HyperLaunch not forced as launcher. You can now set the full path to the launcher in the ini. Has to be fullpath\launcher.exe in the ini file. If your hyperlaunch isn't working then you must add hyperlaunch.exe to your hyperlaunch path in the ini. Added - Can run a script everytime you land on a wheel item to allow scripters to add interactive features to HS. The script is located in a new scripts folder called "Scripts". sxs.dll

Emulation is still rough and most of the selection are homebrew titles but NUON is now playable enough to justify! This is a combined effort with @brudibru (Media/Module/Bezel/Fade). Without his help, showing me current NUANCE compatibility and the homebrew games, I wouldn't have considered the system. The existing module did not work well with homebrew games, so we are using a modified version of PC Launcher. Freefall 3050 A.D. and Iron Solider 3 are still not playable.

Look, I finally did something!! Audio is still not emulated and it's not running at full speed. Still people want it, so here you go! Scanning the IntelliCards (HyperScan playing cards) through Mame File Manager is very frustrating. MAME software list named each card with only a number. I renamed each card assuming they were numbered in correct sequence. For the most part it seems to be correct when selecting Character cards. This system is barely playable. Even if the audio and speed issues were solved, the card scanning component will not work unless you can actually see the cards you are selecting.

  14. Hey everyone! This week’s focus has been all about refining HyperTheme—both the web UI and the ThemeBuilder itself. We've polished controls, introduced powerful new tools for theme creation, and rolled out more visual upgrades across the board. Plus, thanks to some shader wizardry from @yaron and his team, we’ve added a whole new batch of effects to play with. Let’s dive in! ThemeBuilder Updates We’ve continued to improve the control system we introduced earlier, giving users more flexibility in how they build and style themes. One of the biggest additions this week: 12 new shaders. New Shader Effects Stripes Stripes 2 Blur Circle Rays Swipe Reveal Left / Right / Top / Bottom Pixelate Flag 2 Big thanks again to Yaron and his team for the insights—they made this possible, and there’s even more on the way. Layer Grouping (Now Live!) You can now group layers together, making it easy to apply animations or effects to multiple elements at once. This is the first major step toward our next-gen theme-building experience. It also lays the groundwork for linked positioning—think wheels that automatically move with a car layer. You’ll start seeing more of this type of control in upcoming builds. UI Upgrades Across HyperTheme We’ve quietly been refreshing more of the HyperTheme site. You might’ve already noticed updates to: Login screen (with animated background) Media details pages Project creation screen (with animated background) ThemeBuilder UI We’re not done yet—expect more visual polish and consistency improvements over the next few weeks. HyperHQ Updates Updated EmuMovies support Emulator UI fixes What’s Next Work on the new controller base code is still moving forward. HyperTheme has been the main focus lately, but we’re ready to shift gears a bit and give the controller system the attention it deserves—starting next week. More soon! — fr0stbyt3 Theme Credit: @rondar Crazy_Ride_revised.mp4 Elevator_Action_Invasion_REVISED.mp4

  15. Hey everyone! We’ve got a solid round of updates to share across HyperSpin, ThemeBuilder, and HyperHQ—with big improvements to performance, visuals, and workflow. Most notably: 3D Perspective support is in, themes now load faster, and a bunch of long-standing bugs have been squashed thanks to your reports. Let’s break it down: Theme Engine Updates The latest ThemeBuilder beta includes: 3D Perspective Mode – Bring depth and dimension to your themes Improved UI Controls – Smoother workflows and better precision. New Flag Shader – Adds ripple motion for more dynamic effects Updated Spritesheet Handling – More responsive and accurate Save Project Fixes – No more corrupted saves or lost work These updates also speed up theme loading in HyperSpin itself—everything feels snappier and more responsive. Coming Soon We’re working on even more tools to boost creativity and streamline theme building: Element Grouping – Easily organize and manage related elements Group-Based Animations – Animate multiple elements together Expanded Shader Support – More ways to enhance your themes These features are already in development and coming soon. HyperHQ Beta (v2.0.59) The latest HyperHQ beta is now available: Sync Settings – Sync ui updates - more updates to come Dropdown UI Fixes – Cleaned up behavior across the board Download Safeguard – Prevents accidental overwrites Emulator Overrides – Back online and functioning as expected Please give it a spin and let us know if anything still feels off. Wrapping Up We’ve got a few more updates coming out as they’re completed, but we’ll be shifting to a bi-weekly release cycle very soon. That schedule should give us a good rhythm—enough time to focus on bigger features while still staying responsive to your feedback. As always, huge thanks to everyone building themes, testing builds, and sharing ideas—it’s been awesome seeing the community come alive again, and your input is driving everything we’re doing. To make it clear right away, I have not found or written a Pippin emulator out of the blue. To my knowledge, the Pippin system remains largely unemulated. I have been able to create this setup because most of the Pippin library of games was compatible or had a version for Mac PPC's. So I have been able to use the Emulator Sheepshaver which works quite well with those games. That means that, despite the Pippin opening splash screen and sound, it doesn't really acts like a Pippin console as it starts in a Mac OS environment and we have to use a mouse to browse through folders and start games (and sometimes browse through multiple folders). Talking about games, they are mostly kiddie FMV stuff, a lot of them from Bandai, interactive videos or educational. Only a few games stand out but the keyboard and mouse controls are not always great compared to today's standards. So why bother ? The Pippin ended up an abject failure but is still an important part of the videogames history as it was the first and only attempt from Apple to make a gaming device. It had a very limited success in the US and fared just a little better in Japan, thanks to Bandai's lineup of games for the young ones. Back then, Apple probably thought that the CD player and FMV capability, and their name, would be enough to appeal to everybody but obviously it was not (same happened to the CDTV and many other CD based consoles of course). The setup is prepared for what we have to call Hyperspin 1 now. I don't know about a Sheepshaver module for Rocketlauncher so I have used the capabilities of PCLauncher and each games are launched via .bat files (Instructions in the downloads). I have included a Pippin.txt file with all the lines you have to copy/paste to your own PCLauncher.ini. If you don't do that, you will have to point out each games manually in the PCLauncher settings in Rocketlauncher. I don't know about the compatibility with HS2. It can probably launch bat files too but I have not tried myself. I had this system unfinished for a long time and Floatingyeti helped and motivated me to finish it. Floatingyeti also created the main and default themes (and a beautiful pointer) and was generally a great help to refine my project. The boxes have been created from a standard cd case and real covers and cd images from a template. Hope you will enjoy it. PIPPIN main.mp4 Pippin Default.mp4

  17. Hyperspin 2.0 is not Hyperspin anymore. By tying it all up behind encryption, no xmls , all having to use the same themes, can’t backup your files , it’s not portable and on and on is the reason why I want Hyperspin 1.5 updated instead. At best it will just be another Launchbox and that has a 7 year head start on Hyperspin 2. I bet if you had asked all your members what they wanted before you started Hyperspin 2 as it is , 90% would have said to rewrite Hyperspin 1.5 and keep it all as it was with improved resolution etc To not just upgrade Hyperspin 1.5 (which still to this day is THE GOAT of front ends) and go in another direction instead is just unbelievable. I have been a member for over a decade and have all fronts including Launchbox. None come close to Hyperspin. I hope I am proved wrong and Hyperspin 2 surpasses 1.5 , but I can already see it won’t. ps, Thanks for the reply

  23. Hey everyone, Yeah… it’s been a while. What was supposed to be a few quick weeks of patching turned into a full-blown overhaul of how we handle media, assets, and everything in between. Thanks for sticking with us through the chaos — let’s dive in. Media Migration & Folder Structure When you launch HyperHQ for the first time after updating, it will automatically attempt to migrate your existing media to the new structure. That said, this update is a massive shift in how media is organized and referenced. We strongly recommend starting fresh — delete your existing media and redownload it using the new system. You’ll thank yourself later. All media now lives under a unified data\Media directory, and we’ve standardized folder names across the board — Overrides for example: [system name]/Backgrounds - Game/ [system name]/Backgrounds - System/ [system name]/Boxes - 2.5D/ [system name]/Boxes - 2D/ [system name]/Boxes - 3D/ [system name]/Boxes - Back/ [system name]/Boxes - Texture/ [system name]/Game Media - 2D/ [system name]/Game Media - 3D/ There is an additional _hsm folder in the media directory. This is HyperSpin managed media and will be managed through HQ. Everything is cleaner, easier to browse, and fully compatible with future updates. ThemeBuilder Gets a Major Upgrade ThemeBuilder also got a serious glow-up. You’ll notice: More asset types supported (backgrounds, alternate wheels, overlays, marquees, and more) Media Previews right inside the editor Smarter editing tools — autosave, multi-undo, improved drag-and-drop, and faster imports Better performance with smoother playback, real-time updates, and 4K-ready scaling Building and testing your themes now feels modern, fast, and fun — exactly how it should. New timeline with live scrubbing: 2025-08-16 20-06-26.mp4 Grid system (Thanks @yaron ) 2025-08-13_10-04-26.mp4 Alignment locking: 2025-08-13_09-05-06.mp4 Handle settings: 2025-08-04_15-40-56.mp4 More grids!: 2025-08-04_20-15-16.mp4 Themebuilder now supports video previews! @rondar and @baddeolv vid-previews.mp4 HyperHQ Updates v2.0.76 – July 15, 2025 Added “Import ROMs Only” option to MAME Wizard Faster, lighter download engine Fixed blank screen and import issues v2.0.78 – August 2, 2025 Added support for systems without emulators Integrated latest MAME builds Added loading animations for reauthorization Fixed import logic issues v2.0.81 – August 11, 2025 Huge performance boost for ROM browsing Fixed Windows startup and crash issues Improved inter-process communication v2.0.82 – August 15, 2025 Added drag-and-drop system import Virtual scrolling for smoother large lists Refined ROM details layout Added UAC elevation support v2.0.84–85 – August 21, 2025 Enhanced search + new media audit tools Added EXIF metadata support Fixed Windows shortcut detection Build patch (thanks @thatman84!) v2.0.86 – August 26, 2025 Complete media page makeover with glass-morphism UI Fixed MAME game detection Fixed login and auto-auth issues Faster animations and smoother loading v2.0.89 – September 2, 2025 Added game version tracking AutoHotkey syntax highlighting Enhanced process monitoring UI cleanup and bug fixes v2.0.91 – September 25, 2025 Complete Media Folder Migration! The cache bugs, the folder debates, the sleepless nights — it all led to this point. The foundation we’ve built now will carry HyperSpin into its next era. The Enterprise is a Zilog Z80-based home computer first produced in 1985. It was developed by British company Intelligent Software and marketed by Enterprise Computers. Its two variants are the Enterprise 64, with 64 kilobytes (kB) of Random Access Memory (RAM), and the Enterprise 128, with 128 kB of RAM. This setup was a collaboration with @brudibru These are the only the 96 commercially released games (compilations split for a total of 99). There are hundreds of hobbyist ports from ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Videotron due to the Enterprise's similar hardware being able to run them natively. We left them out because it would be a huge amount of redundant games from those systems. 27. We’re back! Thank you all for your patience while we finalized the new cache system this week. After a long week of travel, testing, and refinements, we’ve made significant improvements, fixed some stubborn bugs, and introduced new features based on your feedback. A few of you already spotted the early release, but here’s what to expect: Cache System Improvements The _cache folder is gone—freeing up space and eliminating unnecessary files. No more waiting for cache rebuilds in the wheel manager! Full cache rebuilds now take about 20 seconds per system. Smaller, more optimized cache files for better performance. Full support for overrides in the cache system. After updating, opening HyperHQ will automatically start the cache build process. The initial build takes about 20 seconds per system, but don’t worry—this is a one-time process. It won’t repeat every time you open the app. Once the cache is fully built, the blue message box will turn green, indicating everything is ready to go. From that point on, any newly added systems will build their cache dynamically in just a second or so, ensuring a smoother and faster experience. New Features & Fixes Custom system support – bypass match-making and add whatever you want. The setup wizard now lets you name your system—useful for managing multiple setups. Steam updates now support more media types. Fixed the default theme downloads bug. Auto-login for EmuMovies when you get logged out. Ability to remove collections in the manager. The HQ update dialog is no longer blocked by downloads. Fixed a plugin system bug for smoother HyperSpin updates. Applied a Bezel Project patch for better functionality. Increased download speeds across the board. We’re still working through a few remaining issues from internal testing. For example, cart and disk artwork isn’t displaying correctly in some themes—we expect to have this resolved early next week. @RetroHumanoid is at it again this week! Here is just a small sample of the awesome work I've been testing. This weekend, we’re focusing on polishing any remaining community-reported issues in HQ and implementing a few additional quality-of-life improvements. Thanks again for all the feedback—keep it coming, and enjoy the update!

  28. Hey everyone! I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to all our amazing beta testers for an awesome first week. We’re already 6 builds in with 12 new features and over 80 fixes—talk about a busy week! None of this would’ve been possible without you all taking the time to test and give feedback. Over the next few weeks, we’ve got a bunch of big changes planned for our backend systems—starting with our caching. Right now, we cache a lot of data to keep HyperSpin running fast, but rebuilding that cache whenever something changes isn’t as speedy as we’d like. Thanks to your input, we’ve gone back to the drawing board and completely redesigned it! By the end of next week, we’ll have a new setup that’s quicker, smarter, and doesn’t rely on the old _cache folder. This should squash a bunch of issues you’ve been seeing, like missing or default-reverting themes and wheel images that just won’t update. In the meantime, if you want to test HyperSpin after making changes, the best trick is to open the wheel manager, move a wheel (or make any small tweak), and let the cache rebuild. Depending on how big your setup is, it might take a few minutes. We also heard your feedback loud and clear after our first livestream—you wanted media overrides, and now you’ve got ‘em! We delayed them at first to focus on our new media distribution system, but I’m excited to say you can now override wheels, boxes, carts, and more. We’ve even added video marquees and video themes. For the main menu, just name the file after the system; for games, use the same name as the ROM. After the cache rebuilds, all your overrides should be good to go. One more thing: a big shoutout to the content creators making amazing themes this week— @RetroHumanoid, @baddeolv, John, and @yaron. You guys have made some truly stunning artwork. I’m using themes that are sometimes only a few hours old, and it really brings everything together in a big way! A quick note on video themes: they do use more memory. A typical theme might be around 10MB, while some video themes can hit 1GB. I’ll share more details on performance and trade-offs in another post. For now, here’s a quick demo to show them off in action! 2025-01-17 16-22-07.mp4 Thanks again for all your support, everyone. Your feedback is what keeps us going, and we can’t wait to show you all the cool stuff that’s still in the pipeline. I’ll be taking it easy this weekend to rest up before another big week ahead—stay tuned!

I just had to make a proper theme for one of my favorite arcade games of all time. A 4-player absolutely adorable competitive Pac-Man with dinosaurs, cavemen, power-ups and so much more? What's not to love about that concept? Also, this game's cabinet artwork is just phenomenal and lends itself so well to a HyperSpin theme. See? I just had to. Oh, and a proper wheel is in the theme zip, because of course it is.

I think any "updated" video I capture for those systems will be obsolete in a month, so I didn't bother making new videos yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MAME Project Uploads: 01: MAME Project Upload 02: 0.250 Update 03: Clone Media Update 04: 0.251 Update 05: January Mame Media Update 06: 0.252 Update 07: 0.253 Update 08: 0.254 Update 09: 0.255 Update 10: 0.256 Update 11 : 0.257 Update 12: 0.258 Update 13: 0.259 Update 14: 0.260 Update 15: 0.261 - 0.264 Update 16: 0.265 Update 17: 226 MAME Missing Themes - Clone Themes for Clone Games (Brudibru) 18: 0.266 Update 19: 0.267 Update 20: 0.268 Update 21: 0.269 Update 22: 0.270 Update 23: 0.271 Update 22: 0.272 Update 23: 0.273 Update 24: 0.274 Update 25: 0.275 Update 26: 0.276 Update 27: 0.277 Update 28: 0.278 Update

  35. Hey everyone! It’s been a few weeks since our last update, and we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes—especially on the Theme Engine, which has been our primary focus. Thanks to all the amazing feedback from the artist community, we’ve made huge strides toward what we think will be the most fun and flexible theme-building experience yet. Theme Engine Updates The latest build includes several major enhancements: New and improved UI controls A brand-new 3D Perspective Mode Faster load times in HyperSpin Better performance loading and rendering themes Coming Soon We’re continuing to build on this momentum with exciting new features that will roll out shortly: Shader support Element grouping Group-based animations If everything stays on schedule, HyperSpin and the next version of ThemeBuilder are expected to release next Friday. HyperHQ Improvements We’ve also been making important updates to HyperHQ, many of which were driven by user reports: Fixed bezel-related issues in the download process Updated EmuMovies login handling Bug fixes and improvements for Steam integration Resolved a startup hang issue reported by several users We’re also laying the groundwork for our next big milestone: a brand-new controller system for HyperSpin and HQ. Once the current HS update wraps, controller improvements will begin rolling out—bringing support to more device types and improving compatibility overall. Looking Ahead We’re moving to a bi-weekly release cycle, which will give us enough breathing room between builds to focus on bigger and more impactful updates as we head into summer. Final Thoughts A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey—whether you’re testing, building themes, or sharing feedback. Your input has been instrumental in shaping HyperSpin’s next chapter. Even the critiques have been helpful, and it’s genuinely made this project exciting again. Hats off to all of you. Stay tuned—more updates are right around the corner! 2025-04-04_10-35-08.mp4

  39. HQ System - view type persists Videos - videos were downloading to the wrong directory in some configurations Plugins - HS should update on startup UI - don't allow user to launch HS until its installed Wheel Manager - when setting something to not visible, the UI didn't persist MAME - refresh disabled for now until custom system can be made specifically for MAME Media Overrides - You can now override media for most media types. You can find the new overrides in [installDir]\media\Systems\_overrides Using items in these folders take priority over the media in the HS managed directories. In a future update, this will also allow video marquee and video themes. HS Media override support Bug fixes for Menu Keyboard service fixes

Deep within the bowels of MAME Sofware List I found this barely playable crap. A computer you've never heard of, and one you should immediately forget! I'll try to find a better system next time. [Electronics Today International Magazine, Australia 1981] Developed in New Zealand (by Hug 1802) and upgraded by ETI as project 660, this simple state-of-the-art computer kit allows the hobbyist to get into micro-processors at minimal cost. *Added MAME config (control mapping) put in RetroArch->saves->mame->cfg eti660.cfg

I felt that this great shoot-em-up deserved a quality theme, so I made one. The matching wheel image is in the theme zip, as usual. Enjoy!

Here's one that's been bugging me for a really long time. The only existing theme (as far as I know) before now had the car graphic mirrored and the wrong manufacturer logo on its wing. So, here's a proper theme for this great game. A proper wheel image is in the theme zip as well.

Thought I'd create one using this game's neat newspaper-themed flyer. The background spins in newsflash-style, then the video fades in as the logo settles into place while the basketball arcs in from top-left to bottom-right from time to time. I've included a matching wheel image in the theme zip.

This very obscure Namco classic deserved a cool theme to show off its outstanding flyer artwork, so here you go! I included a version of the wheel image that has a white outline so it looks good on dark and light backgrounds alike.

I'm such a sucker for video pinball games... well, pinball in general if I'm honest. Hehe. I've included the slightly revised wheel image to match the theme as well.

I thought I'd make a good theme for this fun shoot-em-up in the style of the game's flyer. The matching wheel is in the theme zip. Enjoy!
