  1. I thought I'd post an update on my racing cabinet progress. After long consideration, I've decided I'm going to scale the build back to include only arcade-style racers. As fun as including every racer in existence that I want is... the experience is very uneven and chaotic. Many of the newer racers also take an age to load even with the SSD, and that really dents the fun factor. I've whittled the selections down to 200, and I may pare it down even more if I encounter deal-breaking issues with some games. I think this approach is going to result in a very tight, very fun setup. Addition by subtraction!

  4. For everyone's convenience, we've compiled all of the HyperSpin Official system databases in one zip file, which you can find in the Downloads section here. The only exception is MAME - the included 0.236 database is the most current one available and is far more complete than the official one. If we've somehow missed including any official databases in this archive, please let us know. Thank you! ProTip: These don't cover all of the systems you'll find here on the site, and there are many unofficial databases available here as well.

  6. That appears to be across all browsers, not just those two. I will discuss with the other admins and see what's going on there. Thanks for letting us know!
  7. At the moment, yes, though it's being worked on. I don't have an estimate on when it will return.
  8. An alternative way to accomplish this is to put a check in "Use Last System" in HyperHQ and then set "Last_System=" in Settings.ini to the system you want to start on. After that, set Settings.ini to read-only.
  9. OK, the entire Downloads section is now tidy and all of the item counts are accurate. If something looks out of place, please let us know. Enjoy!
  10. I should mention a few things here... 1) If you're not seeing something you're looking for, check the Media section for that system. Many systems have all-in-one media packs that also include Main Menu and System Default themes, among lots of other handy items. 2) Also check the Other and HyperSpin Cinematic sections. There's tons of multi-system and general-use items there. 3) Many of the subsections show a zero item count at the moment. This may or may not be correct. It's due to the Downloads section restoration, and I'm currently correcting the counts.
  11. OK, you can actually read the quicksearch drop-down options now. Hehe.
  12. I'll see what I can do!
  13. OK, the Downloads section is now about 99% organized. That went a lot faster than expected. Hurray! If you spot anything that's not where it ought to be, please let us know. Thanks for your patience!
  14. The Upload Here section is finally back to 0 items! On to the rest of the Downloads section. You've probably already noticed significant changes and additions to it - many more to come!
  15. Thanks for the vote of confidence! I can't wait for y'all to see what the (near) future holds!
  16. As I'm tidying up, I'm noticing that many content creators aren't including platform info and aspect ratio with their creations. Please make sure you state what platform(s) the upload is for and what screen format it's for. Having to look up the platform info slows down the process and having to guess at the aspect ratio could cause the files to end up somewhere other than where they're intended to be. Thanks for all you do, everyone!
  17. You might've noticed today that things are starting to find their way from Upload Here into their proper places. That's because I've started picking away at it. At the rate I'm going, it should be more or less complete in about a month or two. I also plan on reviewing every subsection for misplaced items, and I'll be putting those where they belong as well. Please be patient, as I'm doing this a bit each weekday as I have free time. It's a process. We're getting there!
  18. I have Dell/Harman-Kardon 2.1 computer speaker setups in all 3 of my cabinets. They sound very close to the original equipment (thanks to their bass and treble controls), and they were all stupid-cheap garage sale finds. I don't have $20 USD in all 3 together. Gotta love that.
  19. I imagine development for both will continue on, but underground. It's not like the judgment will stop either one from being available, anyway.
  20. Probably because a port of it is on the Switch, I'd guess. It's not an official port, though.
  21. The end of emulation for current systems, maybe. I've always felt that current-system emulator developers are a little suicidal. I admire their work, but holy jeez, they court disaster.
  22. You can use HyperHQ to create as many different wheels as you want, and then use a different XML for each.
  23. That section is down at the moment. It'll be back when the Downloads section returns. Thanks for your patience.
  24. Speaking from personal experience... it's a deep, deep rabbit hole you're headed down. Hehe. It certainly can be done - depending on how complete you're thinking - but no "all in one" package you find is going to be totally satisfying. Everyone has different wants and needs, and wherever you start, there will be a lot of work involved to tailor it to your liking. That's not to discourage you at all. Just saying... prepare yourself. You're in this for the long haul. (And that's not a bad thing!) <eyeballs his twin 12TB internal hard drives - and multiple USB hard drives - and sighs with happiness>
  25. From what I recall, the site it was originally on was taken down before they could complete it. They had nothing to do with us, and that was quite awhile ago, though. Once the files return here, you'll be able to get far more than was ever included in that project.
