floatingyeti Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Just wanted to share a project I've been working on for the last few days. Just uploaded FM Towns XML (all 52 English playable games I could find). with full wheels, video, system intro, system/default theme, and genre xmls I consider this a WIP and if anyone would like to help me touch up the artwork i'd appreciate it. artwork: hyperspin FTP videos: emumovies FTP both under floatingyeti
brolly Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Nice work, this is a great system that is overlooked by many. I think the database can probably be expanded to include a few more games, but this is a very good start. Did you make the videos yourself, if so I hope you kept the source files and upload them to Emumovies too.
floatingyeti Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Thank you. No I didn't make the videos, I captured and edited gameplay videos from youtube. what other games would you include? I wanted to include more but only added games that I could find roms for. I know that there is much room for improvement. I just wanted to provide a good launching point for this system.
brolly Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Ah too bad, was hoping for a good quality video set. I don't know from the top of my head, Lemmings 2 or Alltynex for instance, but there are plenty more games available and surely quite a few will be playable.
floatingyeti Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 well hopefully this will inspire someone to make a higher quality video set. the quality is good enough for me and I hope it will be of some use to the community here. My next project will have higher quality videos.
floatingyeti Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 I don't know from the top of my head, Lemmings 2 or Alltynex for instance, but there are plenty more games available and surely quite a few will be playable. have you seen these for download?. I'd love to ad them. When I was making the xml I was limiting myself to the games I could obtain. If anyone could pm with links to any games that I could add or let me know which english friendly games to include let me know. I am aware of the two roms sites that come up with "fm towns rom" google search. I have found no other sources.
sky0sea Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Thank. Your work. I Find FM Towns Data. EMU - Movie .. Check.. O.K... HyperSpin - XML,Themes ... Where it? Your Folder... No Data...

RayzzorBlack Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Awesome work. My wheel is like 7 deep for FM Towns based on this exact reason! Thanks
Deadly Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Just a friendly FYI: The best/easiest way to obtain this whole set is at PD. Search for Fujitsu and select the one labeled as [FREE] Fujitsu FM-Towns v0.5 (2007-07-31). Save yourself the wait and bandwidth by manually selecting the games on this XML for download. If you download the latest version of FM Towns the file names are a freaking mess. Trust me you don't want that one. Once downloaded perform a HLHQ audit. will show 9 games missing. You'll need to rename them by simply renaming the zip and not the contents. For whatever odd reason, the contents are actually properly named to coincide with the XML. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fujitsu FM Towns ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Missing List: ----------------------------- Kyukyoku Tiger (aka Twin Cobra) (1994)(Ving)(Jp-En)[mp3 source] Queen Of Duellist, The (199x)(Agumix)(Jp-En) Samurai Spirits (1995)(Ving)(Jp-En)[mp3 source] Secret of the Monkey Island (1992)(LucasFilm)(Jp-En) Strike Commander Plus (1994)(Origin)(Jp-En) Ultima Trilogy 1-3 (1990)(Origins)(Jp-En) Ultima V - Warriors of Destiny (1988)(Origins)(Jp-En) Ultima VI - The False Prophet (1990)(Origins)(Jp-En) Wing Commander+Secret Missions (1990)(Origin)(Jp-En) Any files that have [+UserDisk] or [+BootDisk] in the name - remove it. The only "one off" is Secret of the Monkey Island (1992)(LucasFilm)(Jp-En) Rename this one by removing ,The Should have a full clean audit now.

Cr3tyl Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 What emulator is recommended? I think Unz is the only emu that can handle FM Towns properly.
zerojay Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Anyone know where the movies went? Can't find them on emumovies.
zerojay Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I made a quick and dirty intro video available in my FTP folder, just a quick edit of a longish Youtube video. Good enough for me until Emumovies hits it.

craiganderson Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 You couldn't check PD?73GB I was about to say I am not a member of PD. But I forgot that I was a member in the past. I'm on the poop list cuz I couldnt figure out how to get my router to upload faster or whatever.........young whippersnappers!! not real interested in having my computer connected 24 hours a day anyway.... something just doesnt sound wise about that...................... http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
floatingyeti Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 just google "fm towns roms" I actually downloaded the whole set before I used pd. I downloaded a plugin to firefox to queue multiple downloads. Go to a rom site and spend 10-15 minutes clicking on the individual download links to queue up the entire set and don't worry about upload ratios.
craiganderson Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Thanks. That's what I do! Sent from my Droid Mini. http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
