Version=WinUAE 2.7.0 (2013.12.05) is the version I am currently running Ron. Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. Bank Holiday weekend over here and there was far too many beverages being passed around to say no :D

As for the command line Im not sure when it comes to this thing. I cut and pasted into the CMD Prompt but it just comes back saying its not a batch file?

Hhhmmmm..

Is the emulator located in "P:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Commodore Amiga\WinUAE\winuae.exe"?

Is HyperSpin located in "P:\Hyperspin"?

Can you post a screenshot of that command line and the error?

Thanks,

Ron

Yes that is all correct? WinUAE loads fin if I run it out of HS and through HLHQ.... well it still waits for HLHQ to run the error and then kicks in... but yes it does run?

Well I did it!!!! Its ok everyone, you can all sleep easy tonight as I used the vision of the Golden Eagle to get me through this quest. The diagnosis was simple in the end. Just delete everything and start again :( Maybe the emu does not like to be cut and pasted, maybe I missed something in the setup when I moved it, although I did check the paths like a thousand times, did audits and everything. Seems it just did not like to focus from a cut and paste.

Well now it working and its better than EVER!!! Well I have fade working so yeah, its brilliant.

Thanks again guys for your input. Im just sorry Im such a noob when it comes to HS and HL

MANY THANKS ALL!!

This is very strange.... its happening again. I have not changed anything to do with this setup at all. Yet it seems to be doing the exact same thing again??

It waits until the fade goes or until the module error pops up and then that spit second it loads the game right up. It then means I cant esc out of it to brinng back HS. It makes no dif how long I set fade to it just keeps on doing it?

Any Ideas guys?

I still don't get why people are using WinUAELoader, completely unneeded besides will limit the amount of games you can play.

Hey can anyone please help a noob here...spent two nights with this to no avail... can't get the damn thing to work... First the games don't load in winuaeloader I have the complete rom set i've downloaded from isozone.... They are all in zipped format... and then when I try to configure it in hypelaunch hq..."clicking audit all games" it don't do anything... I've followed this guide... I made the xml list with don's hyperspin tools.. everything seems to be in order but still the damn thing won't find any of my zipped rom games... ???

You quoted brolly and I agree with his quote, your better off in the long run just using WinUAE and Rons other guide. you'll also be able to use it for CD32 and Amiga Demos as well.

So you also have a full WHDLoad Rom set?

i was going to apply amiga to my cab! changed my mind. too complex plus remember double dragon on the amiga?. when your got mame arcade. who cares about the amiga! play arcade! lol

plus some games require a keyboard like last ninja 1/2/3 games are buggy as guru meditation errors, etc amiga games were a mess!. i was amazed the Amiga Evan worked to begin with! rotflmao!. i wish they had sold the sharp x68000 instead of the Amiga would have had better quality games.

better to use computer emulators on a computer than a cab which is an arcade machine!

what i could recollect way back in 1987 when i owned an amiga 500 most of the games i loved were about the arcade

double dragon, bobble bobble, 1943, silk worm, dragon ninja, tiger road. the games on the amiga sucked never looked like the arcade. just poor generic reproductions off! now days we have mame the real arcade! just think about that.. think real deep! way back when you first played dragon ninja on the amiga! or robocop with a small window with border because the system was limited or programmer was cutting corners to sell a game by it's name, in a short time to make a quick buck!

if your making an arcade cab stay clear of computer emulation only adds headaches and bugs and more bugs to your cabinet. if your going to run amiga use cd32 console! the smart way to emulate! commodore c64 use carts not disks.

something console not computer. less bugs more responsive.

hopes this helps ya!

(Midlife crisis) some have hot rods, some have gold chains, I have arcade machine with hyperspin.

Although I kind of agree that running computer based systems can be a pain on a cab, but most games used a joystick and 1 or 2 buttons; other controls could be mapped to a cab.

However I do disagree on your statement about the Amiga not having quality games, far from it; although I didn't play arcade ports. There were tons of classic games which are fondly remembered, Project X, Alien Breed, Shadow of the Beast, Speedball 2, Sensible Soccer, Moonstone, Pinball Dreams and an massive demo scene.

We have different tastes, of course.

Amiga doesn't have quality games? LOL you're funny.

the best part of the amiga days was hacking games making intros sending them to friends,

making trainers using the action replay mk3. and allot of assembly coding.

the commodore c64 was the best of all! the hacking i did with that! g'day "roadrunner!" if he is still around!

Like andyco40 (above), I was also having problems with games running too fast - specifically Barbarian - The Ultimate Warrior - and was just about to reply with a frustrated list of all the different things I'd tried.

However, I solved it!

Modify the last setting in C:\Hyperspin\Emulators\WinUAELoader\Data\WHDLoad.xml

only cycle_exact needs to be changed to true and not the others (I checked).

Andy,

In the last section of the guide is a header "Troubleshooting". Did you try that?

Modify the last setting in C:\Hyperspin\Emulators\WinUAELoader\Data\WHDLoad.xml

<Game Name="Barbarian - The Ultimate Warrior" FileName="WHDLoad\Barbarian_v1.0_Palace_1784.zip" ScrnshotFilename="B/Barbarian_-_The_Ultimate_Warrior_.png" UseMouse="False" PalNTSC="0" Cd="dh1:BarbarianPalace;" WHDLoad="BarbarianPalace.slave PRELOAD;" UAEConfig="collision_level=playfields|cpu_speed=real|immediate_blits=false|cpu_compatible=false|cpu_cycle_exact=false|blitter_cycle_exact=false|cycle_exact=true" />

only cycle_exact needs to be changed to false and not the others (I checked).

Do you mean to say "only cycle_exact needs to be changed to true and not the others (I checked)."?

I'll check that setting for sure. ;)

Thanks,

Ron

Dammit, yes I did (now edited and fixed).

;)

You have no idea how many times I have edited my posts because of that type of thing. lol

Digging into it some more I found the following:

For some games, setting cycle_exact=true fixed many of them.

For some games, setting cpu_cycle_exact=true fixed others.

So, should I set them both to true for all games?

Just looking for input from as many people have run into this and the gurus out there.

In the WinUAE module, it set's cycle_exact=true. Maybe that one is good enough??

Has anyone out there ran into the problem where the above is not?

Thanks,

Ron

cycle_exact=false is the same as cpu_cycle_exact=false + blitter_cycle_exact=false.

If there's a lot of games that need fine grained customization I can add separate options for these, personally I just set the full CLI in options if I need to use custom settings for a game.

Brolly, I feel as though I'm missing something here. It sounds like there's a simple way to set individual settings for games - how?

What Brolly is talking about is the individual rom settings in the WinUAE module, not the WinUAE Loader setup.

For WinUAE Loader, you have to edit the ...\{Emulator Directory}\Data\WHDLoad.xml

For WinUAE it's all done in the module settings:

Click Commodore Amiga on the left.

Then Modules on top.

Select WinUAE.ahk and hit the "Edit System Specific Module Settings" button.

In the window that opens, click the Rom Settings tab.

There are lots of settings for the individual games.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi, what is need to edit in WHDLoad.xml? Set cycle_exact=false is the same as cpu_cycle_exact=false + blitter_cycle_exact=false all to =true?

thanks, Nexus23

cycle_exact=true should do it. Not sure of the effect of the blitter setting.

Thanks,
