If you pay attention to Nintendo's Switch trailer you'll notice there isn't a child or family anywhere, it's all aimed at young, good looking trendy Americans. So I'm out, Agent47 is in.

I don't realy see what specs have to do with it.. what sort of specs would turn you off?..

the fact that it's getting a real new Zelda game is almost enough reason to buy it outright.. all it needs is a new Metroid game and I'll be camping.

I suppose I have a softspot for nintendo, eventhough I never owned a GBC, GBA, Wii U or 3ds/2ds I wouldn't call my self a fanboy, yet what I appreciate nintendo for is that they WANT to make consoles that are different, and for that reason I always thought XBOX and PLaystations have always been dull and un imaginative. I guess I have a softspot for creativity and nintendo franchises..

I'm waiting for the specs so I know there not going to lose dev support again like the wii u.

But things are looking good they have more support this time then with the wii u.

Is the switch android base???

Has this been confirmed somewhere???

I mean it would make since android is a good portable OS.

I am good looking (American modesty there) but I'm an old man, just turned 30 yesterday. I'm basically ancient.

I'm old enough to be your dad or uncle giga. Perhaps I am and you were taken at birth to be trained as an assassin.

Happy birthday

Trust me, VR will fail. In the very end it will get a very little market like eye toy and kinect. Many perople say VR is the "next big thing" but they forgot it failed BADLY in the 90's. Now the technology is much better but it's still too heavy and big. Damn, even 3D glasses didn't become the "standard" of living room entertainment. Moreover VR is heading to something too similar to modern "FMV". VR would need "GAMES", not "EXPERIENCES". And making a good VR games would mean having a dedicated setup where you can move move 360°... without seing what's surrounding you, so you can hurt someone or get hurt in the process. A very good idea BUT it will fail: too pricey, technology still not that good and generally uncomfortable to play with.

Consoles today are a HUGE FREAKING mess. In most cases they can't even do rock solid v-sync'ed 1080p 30fps. Honestly... have you ever seen v-sync turned off on ps2? I did, only in ford vs chevy and that was really a BAD game. If you want 1080p 60fps in VR (so 120fps) you need something like a gtx1070, ps4 and xbox1 are based on low-end APU. Optimization and os environment help a lot BUT they can't do miracles.

The switch... well, once it get hacked it might be a good choice for portable emulation but honestly the first thing i've tought has been "oh, an nvidia shield with a docking station". The problem with latest nintendo's consoles is really simple: great games from nintendo (if you like those games) and nothing more. Nintendo won't die as their products will always have a niche market and economically the society is rock solid (they don't spend money for stupid things or make bad investments) but if they don't get third parties help they wont' be competitive with sony (it will probably fail before nintendo BTW lol) and microsoft even with the best hardware. They say they have 3rd parties support... we'll see. The real "problem" to me is this thing is someway competiting with 3ds itself... I really haven't understand this move. It might help to sell the console but it might even put at a stake the leadership on handheld market....

All you guys saying you haven't bought a nintendo system since N64... how in the world did you not buy a wii?!?!?!?! I can understand gamecube... even though it was awesome and you totally missed out.  But the Wii?!?! really? It was so CHEAP! and could play both wii games and gamecube games...  Plus it was so easy to hack lol!  Then it really did have some awesome games.  Yes it had a lot of crap games because the thing was so popular any jerk off developer looking to make a buck made some god awful bargain bin games.  However, all the nintendo games were spectacular!  I bought mine as soon as it game out, had to tackle an old lady at target to get mine so I could play twilight princess.  Completely worth killing that woman and ruining her kids Christmas for it.

As far as the switch goes... I will admit I haven't bought a wii U and the switch scares me just as much... honestly I think this entire generation is crap.  Mobil has ruined video games in my opinion with all this in purchase crap, DLC addons, and online only play.... and consoles trying to jump on the same bandwagon while also charging you $60 a pop if not more.  Then scorpio / ps4 pro??? WHAT?!?! so now if you want the real experience of the games or you all know eventually if you want to continue playing newer games... you have to upgrade your console!?!?! LOL what a mess!! A horrible, horrible MESS and I'm so glad I'm not involved.  If I was truly a "gamer" still I would be furious if I had made an investment in either system.  I owned every system last generation a PS3, 360, and a wii... this generation... or are we in the next generation now? Who knows... I don't think any of them deserve our money for how much they have ruined games.  They all need to fail so something better can rise up from the ashes.  They need to make GAMES again instead of this weird interactive pay as you go bull crap.  Nintendo it seems made a few... a very small few.... quality games for the wii u but its not worth paying $300 for a system you knew was going to die.

Nice dude!

I too was pretty hyped for the wii when it came out and probably killed a few people getting 2 consoles on lunch. It was cool at first but got old after I beat zelda and mario.

yeah well I bought a pc and guess what - I'm playing wii and wii u games in it. who needs a Nintendo console?

The same can be said for all other past consoles lol and if everyone felt that way there wouldn't be any console games

Though both Zelda games and the many mario games were the best... There was obviously others smash bros., Some fun rail shooters, pikmin is incredible! Especially on the Wii, punch out, Megroid prime series!, DK returns,

Also I think Nintendo is trying to hide the low frame rate while you play on the small screen judging by the fact that they will not release anymore videos regarding the new console.

Lol dumbest statement ever... it was a 3 min teaser video they will have an entire direct with details and more upcoming videos about it as it's still 6 months out. Not sure how you managed to think they won't come out with any more videos as it's simple marketing, release bits of info at a time to keep everyone interested since it's not coming out for the holidays.

Crazy isn't, every time a new console is announced there so much negativity about it, what a sad race we are.

Really it's quite simple, if it plays games you love then go buy it, if not go break out your crayons and stop whining.

That statement is not aimed at anyone here of course.

Yeah it doesn't really make sense. It literally was just announced yesterday so of course there aren't going to be more than just the announcement/teaser video. They will continue to release more videos and info as time goes by.

I think the idea is fantastic and the best idea to hit gaming in a long time. I'm sold.

-Finally a home console & handheld system that don't have a fractured ecosystem, but can play the exact same games.

-Power and graphics wise it should fall between the 360/PS3 & the Xbox One which means for the first time ever we will have amazing visuals on a handheld.

-Devs can make a single game, but benefit from sales to both the home and handheld gaming camps which should help make it attractive to 3rd parties..

-While away from home or at work I can prop it up and play it as if it's a console hooked to a small TV instead of having to hold it like a handheld. the split-remote multiplayer is a great touch.

I can't think of any cons to having a setup as versatile as this.

Didn't really like the Wii and never bought, played or even considered the Wii U, but I am really excited to see where this new one goes. If it hit before Christmas instead of March I can think of 2 other people I'give it as a gift to as well.

Did anyone else get one?

Got mine on launch night and have played the Shit out of it. Never bothered with the Wii U or 3DS, but this system is pretty awesome.

Battery is more than enough. I'm getting between 3 hours 15 & 3 hours 42 playing Zelda (on default brightness, volume at 11 to max-15, WiFi on). Blaster Master can pull 6+ hours on a single charge. Since launch I've managed to play it at work 9 out of 10 working days and killed the battery each time. So far I haven't left the house without taking it with me. The Joycons are great when attached and great feeling in the controller grip, but a bit fiddly to use individually so I'm using it more as a handheld then with the screen propped up on my desk like I thought I would. Volume is damn loud. Screen get's damn bright (so I leave it at default instead of max). The new rumble is cool, but not as cool as I was hoping. System feels pretty solid overall.

Zelda is an incredible game and runs really smooth 99% of the time, but I have found a few areas where it can really stutter for a second or two. Still that has been about 7 times in 80+ hours played so far so it's basically a non-issue. Fast RMX is badass, crazy fast, looks beautiful and runs at a rock solid 60fps. Blaster Master looks like an NES game, but is fun.

Really happy with it so far. My brother came down and checked it out and immediately waqs sold. Went shopping for one, but they are sold out everywhere and tough to find.

Well that's damn good to hear, thanks for the mini review.

One thing I'm curious about, this "new rumble feature".

It's basically more detailed rumble that gives almost analog feedback and a bit of positioning. So in Fast RMX you can sort of feel how hard and where you hit your ship on a wall. There's a section in Blaster Master with wave water hitting you and you can feel it coming, then wash across you from left to right to fade out again. It's pretty cool and a nice improvement to standard rumble that hasn't changed in decades, but it isn't anything mind blowing.
