Are you using a database that only contains the parent and not the clones?

Rocketlauncher launcher has to pull clone  description info from a database.

I don't know if it pulls info from the database in Hyperspin/Database or RocketlauncherUI database while HS is running (probably HS since it us active plugin)

I always keep identical databases in both folders. I know it will use RocketlauncherUI database info because it will also work without Hyperspin running.

No, I am using Romano's full MAME (ALL GAMES) xml

Strangely, on my merged set, every game that has MORE than 1 clone works fine, but any that has just 1 doesn't work unless I manually create a clone for it.

So it just comes down to the appropriate settings for use with each different rom set.

This is the kind of discussion I was hoping for. We need some kind of chart to map this out.

This thread might be the most detailed information on RM that can be found.

That should work I have tested it.

Can you make sure both HyperSpin and RocketlauncherUI have the same database?

Yes, what settings are you using on your main settings screen ? (skip checks etc) ?

Is there anything unusual there ?

Yes, they are both the same

I have skip checks set to false

Your zero team rom map menu shows ten games but all rom names are identical. What happens if you try to launch any game after the first entry?

Also, still getting an error when only 1 clone exists when using a merged romset, so it looks like non merged is the way to go if you want to use rom mapping.

But you had merged working orginally and were posting screenshots showing it?

You posted your settings previously and they were working?

They should both work, just with different RM settings and skip checks changed back to Roms Only.

Sorry, the merged set works on all games that have more than 1 clone, but do not work on games that only have 1 clone (and there are a lot of those)

Comes up with this error.

I was experiencing that error when I accidentally left spaces after the clone names in my ini file

Romano's ini is generated and can't have that "human error"

I assume you have

launchmenu

Show all roms "true"

The only thing I could think of is testing "First Match Extension" on true or false to see if it changes behavior.

If I copy the parent and rename it as the clone and put back with the parent, it will load as normal and show both games correctly on rom mapping screen, but that literally means creating 100's of clones as I found when it started checking them all and testing.

Yes, that's way too frustrating to deal with!

There might be some combination of Rom Mapping and Launch Menu options that will allow a clone list of "one" to work.

I was always testing parents with multiple clones. It seemed more obvious to test functionality of large clone lists.

I don't know if I tested a parent with only one clone before I switched to non-merged.

I thought I saw all the proof I needed that merged was fully functional. Your previous posts about merged set working was also reinforcing that assumption.

For now, it seems that non-merged is a bit more functional than merged.

Thank you for the troubleshooting discussion.

Yes, I tried that and no luck

Now, with these settings I have NES working, but with only 1 other game working. Any more games than 2 (1 x parent and 1 x other and it won't load.

It shows it can do it and it doesn't even need to have any clone info on the xml

Yes, that's true but if including <cloneof> info becomes a standardized process for all systems we can use automated tools like Romano created to make ini.

The next time I make/upload a full system setup I might include rom mapping to test functionality on a non-arcade system.

For now, I feel like we've explored all the rom mapping functionality with MAME.

Let me know if any further issue pops up with your non-merged setup.

As there is no way to generate xml's with the clone info automatically (as far as I know) then this is a no go from the start.

Nobody is going to go through 1,000's of names on an xml and try to work out every permutation of clones on it.

The way to go is to create an xml from just the rom names.

I will leave this now, as you seem focused on just MAME rather than rom mapping, though now MAME is sorted there is not much to comment on.

Sorry, but any new game on the monthly updates require the latest version of MAME.

Ok I will update. Do you know if this the 2019 version or the new cps2 version from 2022? Thanks and happy new year.

Happy New Year!

I actually don't know anything about the Final Fight 30th anniversary hack.

I found this info:

Final Fight 30th Anniversary Edition is a modification to Final Fight World, ffight.zip in mame, that enhances the game in the following ways:

  • Three Players
  • Selectable Palettes
  • Unlocked Character Selection
  • More Health for Enemies/Bosses with three players
  • Uncensored Intro / No Region Warning

Every system in the game has been reworked to support three players and enhancements that would improve this experience have been implemented.

It is originally compatible with CPS1 hardware but I don't know if it's the updated version.

Looks interesting.

This game deserves a better theme than the one I uploaded with a quick logo swap.

Hi thanks. I ever play to this cps1 version but the new cps2 revision seem to bring better things from initial revision. I hope they could add this revision soon.

I don't kwow if we could request for game at mame devs.  regards

Hello
Happy new year to all!!!

I have been reviewing and I have found some videos that I had in better quality. I hope they are worth to improve the project.
I made a detailed listing of the changes.
It occupies about 500MB, uploading them to the web is a bit complicated, tell me how I can send them to you.

Absolutely, that is a great improvement!

I believe most of that list is from progettosnaps. I converted them and kept the original resolution.

I thought I got all the higher quality files from EmuMovies before searching progetto.

I suggest uploading them in a multipart zip file. Maybe 4 parts at 150mb each.

Thank you!

I have uploaded it to MEGA, at the moment I have free space.

I'm away from my PC for a few days but I will download as soon as I can.

Thank you for all your help with MAME media! I really appreciate it!
