relic Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 whats its basically doing is for example making a folder named point blank 3 even so the game i have is point blank not point blank 3 i check the renameof my point blank game and it seems to rename it as point blank 3 in other words its making duplicates of the same game but with diffrent names 100%
djvj Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Relic, if you want others to understand you, you must use punctuation. Otherwise, it looks like a computer just dumped out a bunch of words and meanings are entirely different when using punctuation vs not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punctuation "Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."RocketLauncher's Official Home If you appreciate my work:My Apps:Window LoggerIdle Volume AdjusterExplorerRestorerRom Folder CleanerModule UpdaterMy Guides:How To Mod Guncons with Aimtrak

emb Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 I still dont understand what you are saying relic. As djvj stated, please use punctuation. After you type your message, please proofread it. I dont read through your most of your posts because of the lack of punctuation and grammatical structure. The fragmented comments are simply too difficult to read. Please take it as constructive critizm and not a personal bash as I do know you have some innovative ideas. potts43 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hi, I've used the 4.2 version and it looks really good. Does this feature renaming the roms associated snaps and other related docs too? I'm fairly new to renaming so if I was to rename a set of roms to no-intro what would be the favoured method to have the roms media renamed to match? Thanks Jase
relic Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 if you like emb i could show you whats going on with it. just what im trying to tell you at the moment is that its renaming games incorrect and placing the wrong game in a folder as well as making doubles of each game and to show you whats going on i will post a snap of what it shows for 1 game repeats of slamcity SEGA CD -Slam City with Scottie Pippen (32X) (Disc1) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (32X) (Disc2) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (32X) (Disc3) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (32X) (Disc4) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (Disc1) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (Disc2) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (Disc3) (USA) Slam City with Scottie Pippen (Disc4) (USA) 7 SONY PLAYSTATION 1 - Point Blank 3 (USA) IS POINT BLANK 1 Tekken (USA) IS TEKKEN 3 so what it means is when it takes a guess on games for sega cd etc it grabs your games and renames them to a game you dont have while placing your orginal game in tekken 2 or point blank 3 so it takes a guess and places point blank 2.iso in point blank 3 when you run the game it detects as point blank rather then point blank 3. Thats all i can say for better words to make you understand if your still confused maybe its time someone from the project team view with me so i can show them whats up with it. thx regards relic 100%
emb Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Relic, Fuzzy matching is not 100 percent accurate. It is merely a best guess. If a game does not match, drag the correct file from the ROM list on the right table to the correct game on the left table. The next version will have an unmatch button too. Eg if there are 2000 + atari 2600 roms with matching snaps and vids and you want to rename them to nointro could there be an option to rename the matching snaps and vids at the same time? As they are already matching in the 'old' set would this be simple to implement ? Thanks for listening Jase
emb Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Unfortunately it would not be trivial to implement. It is kind of low on my priority list since HyperSync is such an awesome tool for artwork. I will consider adding in something like that at a later date if there is a demand for it. In the mean time, you will just have to do everything twice (or use HyperSync). potts43 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi Emb, no problem with the duplication I guess. However, I've ran into another query. I have 100% roms on audit but when I select the XML to corresponding wheel to make a list after scanning I am getting 0/number of roms in list. Any ideas? I have tried it on 3 different emus Atari 2600/mame and daphne and It reports I have artwork for certain roms but no next to rom name....thanks Jase

potts43 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi again, sorry if I wasn't clear. Hopefully this will explain. First I audit my roms in Hyperlaunch HQ This shows I have 646/648 roms listed in the Hyperlist Atari 2600 XML I then load your program and select the Atari 2600 wheel and select the downloaded database XML I then click scan and I get the table up showing that there are 648 roms in the XML but I have NO next to every rom If I try to filter the roms I have It says that I have 0/648. I don't know why it shows the artwork if it exists but no to games/roms. can you shed any light on what I may be doing wrong? thanks again. Jase
emb Posted August 18, 2013 Author Posted August 18, 2013 Ensure the correct rom path and correct file extensions are specified for that system. You can check that in hyperhq. The showing metric only tells you what is visible by the filter. I created a video tutorial on the list generator. I would suggest watching it. Click my signature for details. That should answer all your questions. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2 %5BSIGPIC%5D[/sIGPIC] Download HyperSpin Tools and check out my MAME cabinet

However, with ../ they are found in your program. So, I thank you for your help and advice but can't figure that out. ..\HyperSpin\Emulators\Atari - 2600\Roms\matched no intro\ thanks Jase
bondy Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Hi All, Don - brilliant tools. I've used List Generator and List Splitter ad both and simple and intuitive. I have a basic question that I haven't found an answer for via search. In List Generator it comes up with an error when I try and create the mamelist.xml. I'm using command line mame64 (ver 148) compiled by Jumpstile here (thanks!). This has no-nag, cave, hiscore etc. The mame executable isn't in the default emulator folder of hyperspin, but is pointed to the program correctly because when I move it it says 'executable can't be found' or similar. When it's in its exisiting folder, it comes up with a 'report code 1' error. I have also tried manually creating the XML file in cmd.exe but it says 'Access is denied'. There's a chance I'm not using cmd.exe properly - it's my first use of DOS in 15+ years Any help is appreciated, thanks guys

tastyratz Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Don I am curious on how that beta is going. Is it still closed or is 4.3 semiavailable to those interested in trying it?
emb Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Its still a private beta. There are so many corner cases to hash out; so many in fact that I even removed the private beta. I am very close to having a nice and robust beta build. It is just a matter of getting time to write the code and test it. EDIT: I forgot to mention, ill add you to the beta. tastyratz Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 cool sounds good. I am good at breaking beta software and finding holes where nobody thinks will break as Rain surely could attest. Whenever that is I'll try to break it.
potts43 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Hi Don, I've been configuring ZiNc and found a discrepancy in the naming of the roms. HS wants roms naming "aquarush.zip" to run but obviously they won't audit as the xml wants numbers also. List generator wants everything naming "63.zip". No artwork/media shows in HS unless its numbered so we end up with media being numbered and roms being letters. As your program uses the xml it wants numbers. So both HS and LG need both naming conventions which seems mad. Any thoughts.? I've ended up with media numbered 1-71 and roms named. Tricky!! Cheers
potts43 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Feature request.... Would it be possible to be able to see a preview of artwork available by hovering over individual cells? Would it be possible to be able to highlight a cell or cells and be able to enter information. Eg...highlight a group of roms and enter dates of release or name of company and then click save xml to update it? Thanks
potts43 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Looks like its all me today Don ;-) In my default theme it appears to look in my default folder and displays the video or still if no video available. But in artwork column it is empty. If I place a still in artwork 1-4 folder it goes green in artwork and also in corresponding artwork folder 1-4. But then doesn't display in HS on that particular rom. Is there a reason why artwork doesn't go green when there is a snap in the default video folder? The video cell is green but the artwork doesn't. In that folder selected in HyperHQ I have both still and video snaps. Thanks
owen70 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 is there any chance i can get the beta version to test out?
