Is there no way to have the module read the roms as aquarush.zip but send ZiNc 63.zip?

Using hyperlaunch 's rom mapping feature you can.

What do you mean by the rom renamed doesn't touch the artwork?

I misread your post earlier. I meant to say that the rom mamager cannot rename artwork.

With that, you have two options:

1) use the rom remapper feature in hyperlaunch

2) manually bind each game in the rom renamer to be named back to 1.zip 2.zip, etc... You can manually bind a game by dragging the rom from the right table to the game on the left.

I've used your program successfully to do artwork...

Selected artwork as if it was rom folder and used the xml file as the correct naming feature. However, what I would like to do is to be able to select only the ones I want to rename by having a ticky box next to each one...same for renaming roms too....

Eg lets say there are 500 roms named in the xml but only 250 roms physically on the hardrive there are always errors in the fuzzy matches. However, 90% may be spot on. I would like to be able to say yes to the 90% and disable the 10% by removing the tick next to them. Other fuzzy matching progs allow this but they aren't as good as yours on the whole...you are left with matching all including errors. There are filters I know but sometimes the good and bad are within the guessed parameter.

Hope this makes sense.

I've seen the remapping roms option but looks long winded...guess that zinc issue will remain unless the HS team can revisit how HS interprets Zinc rom names v numbers.

Great prog emb, like us all just needs tweaking lol!

Thanks for the help, I've heard of it but not sure how to do that. Can you offer a place to read about it and ill give it a go?

It's a feature of hyperlaunch, assuming you are on the latest version (3). There is a tab that allows you to enable / configure it at a emulator level.

Djvj,

Just found a one liner in the HTML manual actually quoting the zinc naming issue for rom mapping! I might actually Suss this now.

Thank you

Are the Parent/Clone DAT files in the same format convention as a standard dat? If not, that would explain why it doesn't work. I'll add it to the backlog since cd image support is my #1 priority right now. It will be relatively low in terms of priority unless more people voice their need for it.

Potts43, the latest beta does have the checkboxes in it. Its coming close to being testable. It is just a matter of finding time to work on the tools.

I have not been on the forums much as I have been working hard on some well needed ROM renamer enhancements. With that, the next beta will have:

-ACCURATE fuzzy scanner (I rewrote my own, has roman numerals, region, tosec, and goodmerge support)

-CD renaming support

-Enhancements to binding and unbinding, ability to choose what games to rename (and not to rename)

And more

Hopefully I will have it out within the next day or two. I really feel this new beta may blow your mind!

I have another private beta ready for testing; unfortunately I am out of town and cannot distribute the private copies until monday. I will add you to the list. I think you will be happy (and so will the other beta testers). ;)

Monday hey? Great...btw your tips sure helped me yesterday. Looking good for the new v150 mame now. Beta .12 going well. One issue is the refresh/scroll rate can be delayed is that due to size of mame xml's?

Hey everyone, I LOVE this tool, but I'm having one issue, which I'm sure can be solved easily by someone who knows this better than I (which isn't hard to do :P)

I can generate a list and play the games just fine in Hypserspin, however a few games are not in the list (Example Marvel Vs Capcom 2) and I belive the issue is that the games are not on the original/source/master XML list I import into the utility. I found a link to download a full XML list on, I think from http://honerbrink.com/ or another Don's tools forum, and same problem. I then tried to generate my own master xml list from the mame command prompt, which then shows Marvel vs Capcom 2 in the XML file, but its a VERY large xml file and Don's tool just seems to hang when trying to import it. Any suggestions?

Thanks everyone!!

~John

The full mame xml is over 147mb. Depending on your pc this appears to make it hang...be patient it will read it and carry on but the program is sluggish at best. I have mentioned it to emb!

I have done the Xmls for mame v150 they are on my FTP under potts43 and were done with dons stuff.

Hide columns that you do not need, this will speed things up a little. I'll see if there any more opportunities for virtualization in the spreadsheet.

Is it possible to still get in on the beta? Been messing around with some mame and hbmame xml's and I think this could help.
