dompau Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 just add timestamp to the default log name and there you go. ( _Now() UDF in Autoit for instance, gotta rework it a bit to look nice and to be used in a file name though)
emb Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 I considered adding timestamps, but then I was paranoid about the logs accumulating. In the short term, I will add timestamping and think later down the road for a long term solution. dompau Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I'd add a checkbox to disable logging. About logs accumulation it's the user's responsibility to take care of it in my opinion, not the software. But maybe there's another way of thinking it.

I would just assume if the log file was empty, it simply wouldnt use it. Im just going to timestamp them for now. Deadly Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Wow - PS1 Redump renaming process now running for 68 hours on 1362 images. Almost done with letter G games. Wow - this is seriously going to take MORE than a whole freaking week! lol Let me know when you get the option added to change the temp directory. I'll GLADLY grab it
emb Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 Yea, it takes forever to simply uncompress part of a file, edit the file, and recompress it (especially at those file sizes). If you have the hd space and you extract the files beforehand, the app will be very quick This is why I love the concept of rom mapping. No need to rename files. You simply map them in hyperlaunch. potts43 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Emb, Fast update! In a future update could you give consideration to having an option of being able to load an xml without having to select a HS wheel. I would like to be able to load a DB and edit it and then then either just save it or save as. This would greatly speed up the process of making small changes when filtering not required.

potts43 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 If I had an xml that was already filtered but needed the year cell completing on a few cells I would have to load the xml, choose a HS wheel then select all roms to export list before I could begin to update the empty cells. I would like a mini program that simply loads an xml without requiring anything else. I can edit the required cells then save the xml. This would be used for fast field editing not filtering or artwork.
emb Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 I think it is a tad overkill to have a seperate tool for that. Create a HyperList folder, put all the full complete lists in there. Open up the list filterer. Specify the full complete list for the source XML (the one in the hyperlist folder). Specify your wheel. Then specify the output file (the one you want to prune). This should premark the files for you. If you don't want to go through this setup every time, save your list filter configuration by clicking file / save configuration. The next time you want to trim that list, simply click file, load configuration. Then click scan. If you have more questions on understanding this, I highly recommend you check out my video tutorial on youtube. Not only does it talk about this; it also talks about some other highly useful tips and techniques to speed up your list filtering process. emb Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 No. Create a HyperList folder. Copy your xml file from your databases folder to the HyperList folder. Better yet, download the latest XML from the HyperList webpage and save it into your HyperList folder. Specify the XML in your HyperList folder as your source XML. Specify the XML in your databases folder as the output file. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2 %5BSIGPIC%5D[/sIGPIC] Download HyperSpin Tools and check out my MAME cabinet

emb Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 Is anyone up for making a couple icons? THK made the original icons for each executable (sent them to me in an ico format). He did a great job with them. I just need them updated to represent the new renaming tools. Here is the link for the illustrator files. It uses the spin cycle font. http://honerbrink.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=90 An exported version of all the new ico files would be great. It would also be nice to have the "Don's" stripped off of the main logo as well. I would like that in a PNG format. %5BSIGPIC%5D[/sIGPIC] Download HyperSpin Tools and check out my MAME cabinet
dompau Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Hi, thanks for that fast update. I'm gonna take care of those icons.
