Apparently the old version (4.3.19) works on ccd files. I've tested it and that seems to be the case, but the 4.3.19 version ruins .gdi archives. So you can't win really.

Am I right in believing the 7z is the only file that needs to match the xml name or does the cue/ISO/ccd/bin/img etc etc need renaming inside the renamed archive?

This is true for some modules and not true for others, I believe. Either way though, I change everything to be sure.

7z does not discriminate between modules. It is a function outside the module, so it is the same for all of them. Likewise, so is the naming requirements. Depending on the skipchecks options you set and if you use rom mapping is what determines how strict naming will be.

Recommended will always be to match everything to the xml.

If you don't want to match inside files, turn on first matching extension.

OK great, thanks. I wasn't positive about that.

The zipped file name MUST match the database. Any image using a .CUE file - the cue file name must match the zipped file name. The rest of the image content names won't matter.

Like I said above, you can turn on the first matching extension setting and it will match the first rom with a matching extension from your list of extensions you defined for that emu. So I would put cue closer to the first to match cues before bin or iso for example. If it matches iso and you can't send that to the emu, it will break the launch because the emu might not know how to handle that file.

Emb, Can you add a option for copy the name of the game selected in Hyperlist ??? with right click mouse ???

Emb has sort of retired...for a good while at least.

Unfortunately I believe that retirement is permanent. He loves programming and doing all the hours at work is fine but then coming home and doing the same thing would kill anyone's love affair.

I have asked in that rhread if emb would be willing to share source code. Did not ask for licensing though. No answer yet. Guess when he said retirement he meant retirement :-)

Not really sure where yeh want potential bugs posted so I suppose this is as good as any other. Used ver. 4.3.25 to generate a WonderSwan database using a No-Intro dat and apostrophes were left as such instead of being replace with ' . I'm assuming that wasn't meant to be.

Sorry to revive old thread but i am trying to use this to rename my roms. It seems to work but it keeps outputting them to seperate folders.

Is there a way to have it to either zip the files or not put them in seperate folders?

(I know there is a zip option but only if you copy the files - which doesnt actually seem to work)

I liked this post.  ;)

But none of the links work.  :(

Got a little happy here, thought maybe a new version?  Or a link to the current?

Thanks,

Ron

The Hyperlist Converter doesn't let me choose a folder so I can make an XML file. It just wants a DAT file. Did I miss something or did I do it wrong? I just want to make an XML file for the games I have.

If you are using RocketLauncher, RLUI can do it for you as well.  Select the system on the left you want to create a DB for.  At the top click on Emulators.  Right below that is an icon that says "Generate Database...".

With Don's tools, you have to use the program called "Create New HyperList.exe".  Sounds like you have an older version of Don's tools.  The most up-to-date version is 4.3.25.

Thanks,

Ron

Is there a link to the 4.3.25 version?  Every link I have tried only takes me to the 4.2.6 version. Thank you :)
