So nothing like xpadder, j2k, hypermarquee etc that could steal focus from your Mame.

Does this happen if you don’t use Hyperspin Startup Script?

NO none of those other programs. No did not happen until I swapped my joysticks to U360’s and used the hyper spin startup script. Yes only when I use the startup script it happens.

I recently switched to Ultimarc 360 joysticks. I couldn’t navigate in hyperspin, so I found the start up script ini. I am able to navigate hyperspin now, but when I start a game I can’t add coins until I click on the 2nd mame screen. 

I am having a problem using the start up script. I can get the script to allow me to use my Ultimarc 360 joysticks to navigate hyperspin...But when I select to start a game the actual game window is not the main window, so it will not let me add coins to start the game. I have to use my mouse to hover over the taskbar to select the 2nd window in MAME and then I can add coins and start the game. Can you help me figure out whats wrong. I've been racking my brain over this for 2 days.

Yes hyperspin is C:/hyperspin. What apps? I just want the .ini to let me use the Ultimarc 360 joysticks in hyperspin. I want mame to use its own configured control settings while playing a game.

I just posted it to your Facebook account. Wouldn’t let me upload here due to size limit exceeded. It was working perfectly at one time. I need to update hyperspin and rocketlauncher. Maybe tomorrow I’ll follow your install videos and update both and see if that fixes these issues. I’m also having an issue with rocketlauncher not closing when I exit a game. I’m having to shutdown rocketlauncher with task manager. Also get the autohotkey.dll error when I start a game. That’s the error you see in the video when the game is selected.

Ya I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with your start up script. That script is to launch apps along with hyperspin and shut them down. That error message suggests it’s something maybe to do with your RocketLauncher>profiles folder maybe. This is where all your custom controls go if you are needing a different map then hyperspin. The reason why mame doesn’t read your controls is because that error message is on top of it and is why it will work if you click mame. We need to solve that error message and at first glance it has something to do with your controls. Yes I would suggest updating RocketLauncher in general. Not sure what version you are on but if you are still using hyperlaunch it’s a no brained to update. Be sure to back up your stuff! If you are on a super old version you may want to use the transition tool to RocketLauncher but that would mean you haven’t updated in like 4 years or something

Just wanted to say that this was one of the issues that I used to have and I absolutely hated it.. Another issue was that the "hold" command in RL that I used for my exit emulator key wasn't working when using the latest windows 10 drivers for my Xbox one controllers. A third issue was that I wasn't able to map the Xbox button to any keys. I had these issues with every keymapper I tried and i think I tried all of them. I have now switched to reWASD and all of these issues are gone. It gets regular updates and has a great support forum. I was a little worried that it might not be able to handle a little more advanced mappings like the one I have made for Cemu to be able to control the mouse when holding down a specific button and so on but it works really good. I think it works even better. For example now I just press the xbox button to switch between tv and gamepad view in Cemu. All in all I'm super happy with this piece of software and I recommend that everyone start using it :) It's absolutely worth the money.

Edit: Just to clarify. The "inactivity disconnect of the joysticks" that I'm talking about is that if I leave hyperspin on for a while and later come back, my wireless Xbox one controllers are turned off and I have to turn them back on by holding the xbox button. After that I can't control Hyperspin at all with the controllers. The same thing happens if I'm for example playing a wii game with my wii remotes and therefore leaving the xbox controller untoutched which leads to it turning off. When I later turn it back on to use my exit emulator key, it won't work. None of this happens when using reWASD.

I have looked into the issues this has with joysticks and I have come to the conclusion that the issues people are experiencing is because this Autohotkey script uses the WinMM library to read joysticks. Microsoft has said that for gamepad controllers XInput is the library that should be used. For non-gamepad controllers and non-keyboard and mouse type devices then directInput8 should be used.

I am currently working on adding XInput support to this script.

In the meantime, I have attached the source code for anyone else wanting to customize it.

I am so sorry I offended you .Most people usually push for things for there setup...Relying on others. Just not sure why you was brutal back, again could be my fault not knowing your personal coding skills. I do apologize ,but the DF ..lol you may need help from some day..

If it's so easy for you then edit it all for an XBOX One controller and post it on the forum !

This only works for XBOX 360 and always has done, that's why I asked.

While you are at it do it for all the other controllers, seeing as you seem to be a Hyperspin wizard.

PS, the DF was the most polite I could be without losing my sh1t !!
