    It all comes down to your preference. Personally, I share your point of view and only have a MAME wheel. I use the genre feature to access subcategories like Namco System 32. But, you could have everything listed on your main wheel or use nested wheels. There is no right or wrong, pick what feels best for you. The best version of MAME should always be the latest version. Each new release increases functionality and compatibility. Just make sure your romset matches your MAME version.

    That has happened to me because extentions are case sensitive in HyperHQ but not case sensitive in RocketlauncherUI For every extension in HyperHQ list both upper and lower case variations. Example (MAME) 7z,7Z,zip,ZIP I follow this rule for every system and have not had the issue since.

    If you only use one JoyToKey profile it might be easier to have the program in your windows startup applications. If there is no profile switching you don't need Rocketlauncher to manage JoyToKey.

    I don't currently have HBMAME set up so I'm only speculating but you might be able to use Rocketlauncher managed bezels as an alternative because it uses the "cloneof" info in the database to match parent/clone. Problem is: I took a look at the HBMAME database from Hyperlist and only a small portion of the games have the "cloneof" info filled in. I assume if you copied over the "Media/Bezels/MAME" bezels to "Media/Bezels/HBMAME" and made sure all clones had correct "cloneof" info it would function properly. I realize that's not the technique you are looking for, but it might achieve the desired result.

    OK I altered all instances of: 1_DPAD -> 1_HAT1 2_DPAD -> 2_HAT2 3_DPAD -> 3_HAT3 4_DPAD -> 4_HAT4 Let me know if that works. If it doesn't, then I won't be able to "fix" the cfg. Too much has changed in MAME and it will have to be completely redone. XARCADE_XBox360x4.cfg

    This looks tricky. all DPAD values are changed to HAT(#) Example: JOYCODE_1_DPADLEFT -> JOYCODE_1_HAT1LEFT Let's see if I can find and replace all the right text but it's a bit much. If this doesn't work the whole XARCADE_XBOX360x4.cfg needs to be redone.

    "Joy # Select" has been renamed to "Joy # Back" in the current MAME input menu This might be bad, VERY bad! You might be able to fix it by using a find and replace for: JOYCODE_1_BUTTON7 -> JOYCODE_1_START JOYCODE_1_BUTTON8 -> JOYCODE_1_SELECT Replace for JOYCODE_1 to JOYCODE_4 I made identical remap cfg for 1941 in both MAME 251 and 252 and the resulting cfgs had identical values for the start/select buttons so our existing remaps might still work in 252.
