Here is what you need set, this is shown at around 5 minutes into the tutorial video. You need to set Hyperspin as the active and default frontend.

If you had to move the xml's then RLUI is not set correctly, you probably haven't set Hyperspin as the default. There are a few things you need to set so I would suggest watching the tutorial again to see what you missed. And for booting straight to Hyperspin, most of us use this.

Only 1.4.16 is available from the download section so you should use that. I've no idea about the pause menu thing, never noticed a problem there.

Dip switch settings are stored in the config files (cfg folder.) So are you guys using this xml as your main mame xml or as a separate wheel?

This script put together by rfancella will change the default special joystick animations to a different bat top (by manicshere) or ball top (by 8bitmonk) joystick. Extract the Changesticks folder into your HyperSpin folder, open the folder and run the ChangeSticks.cmd. You can then choose the animation you want or restore the original. -
