Plus the angle of the screens wouldn't give the best view. Maybe use the video overlay from the console themes? gibbawho Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Ok, after a ton of work and tinkering.. I finally have a release ready animated HD Genesis theme. You'll find it in my folder under /Release Ready/Sega Genesis HD/ I was even able to get a high res video border working. Its sort of a hack but it works. The video border is actually built into the Logo (Artwork2) and has its own custom intro animation. I hope you guys like it cause it took forever to get looking right. I remade the genesis logo in vector as I've done with most of my other themes. Also found a new genesis controller image that's much higher res and has the previously requested burgundy letters and arrows.

AlexDC22 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 gibbawho the theme is perfect on my 1980x1080 dysplay...video border is not stretched out like before and it looks cool with the new animation, and the controller looks much better now question tho...for the HD themes the boxes are all strectched out....do we have to resize them at all? I'll admit I'm getting slightly confused as to what is going on now.Who is making what? And i am doing the bezels to match this set for 1920x1080 displays only...am sure others can do the 4:3 ones if they want i started this for personal use...and i decided to share, not the best but it suits me and hopefully others as well

For those that haven't definitely check the theme out in HyperSpin, the animation cannot be put into words. Do you plan on using the border for all the themes, or will you be doing different versions to match each system? I'll admit I'm getting slightly confused as to what is going on now.Who is making what? Gibbawho discovered a way to convert his Photoshop files into themes while losing very little image quality. Using this method, he's going back and putting the finishing touches (animation and such) on his themes for a HD release. Styphelus and myself are creating 16:9 themes based off of the original PSDs, we're also using Gibbawho's new method. These are to be a low-end alternative to those who's builds won't be able to handle Gibbawho's animated themes. I'd also imagine they'll be used as a temporary placeholder by most, while Gibbawho creates his superior HD set. Alexdc is going through and creating bezels to match the themes. I also believe he's adding unofficial bezel support into some of the modules, which I would definitely be interested in seeing. There've been other contributions as well, such as ashurax, who've uploaded themes in the same style as the originals. gibbawho Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Just tested a few things. You can actually run this genesis hd theme at 2048x1152 with only minimal quality loss in the console pic. The rest of it scales fine... although it runs like crap even on my i7 4770k with a gtx760. Future proofing though, y'know. If i can find a higher res genesis console pic i'll change it but i'm not worried about it at the moment. The theme also scales down to lower 16x9 resolutions just fine as well but I suppose that was to be expected. Runs super smooth at 1365x768.

It's the Sega Genesis one demoed above. It's uploaded to his folder on FTP, I definitely recommend checking it out in action. Took alot of toying to get it where it is. Now that i've settled on methods I can start busting out the rest of them relatively easily. I'm going to need to get some new art assets for some of the systems as I go so it'll be relatively slow. Maybe 2 themes per week. Is there much community interest in 4x3 high res themes? Chime in if you want them. I just kind of assumed anyone with high res would also be widescreen.
