I wouldn't worry about it. That's the way the rule is written, but all the big projects are posted within their own threads and linked too.

You may have gotten a degree of approval with Post#16. I have always felt that there was a place for a few layers of theme making ability, as long as people know what they are getting into if they consider using something "non-official". I understand standards, but non-artists have to start somewhere. We used to have access to the ftp and that was a gold mine for systems, themes and wheels not available elsewhere.

 

Of course, when I first started here only the approved systems list had a theme, but many systems only had the first game of the XML with full artwork (wheels, theme, cart, box) as a representation of what HyperSpin could look like. The rest were hit or miss. I guess the assumption is that there are more "official" options available now. Then again, things like the Unified Mega Theme and Cinematic came from the unofficial way of doing things.

Yep, so anyone that like me wish to update their setups to 16:9 have a quick look of the themes, the download section can be dificult for that. I have my main pc with problems right now and other problems in real life (there are allways problems... but some times there are more hahahah) so... will not be arround here so much these days... hope things get better to the end of this month.

 

Gonna update the post now that i have some free time and then to sleep.

There is a method... you have to create a theme with the video using the whole screen... thats the way this cinematic themes where used before James started to create themes with the video included in background.swf.

Neonrage, please upload these themes... there are many of this that don't exists here in the downlaod section... will be better if you publish them in the theme annuncements section one by one but if not please, share them with my and i can take care of that... so they finaly get to the download section... i can even modify them with your permission if asked by the art masters here in the forums.

I have a Mugen 16:9 theme. I created a bunch based on the mega theme. The Supergrafx theme is from the megatheme as well. Do you want all the themes I have? 

 

PM your e-mail. It's easier for me to send them that way rather than posting them somewhere.

 

Let me know if you want photoshop files as well.

 

It would be cool to add moving backgrounds like the ones from hyperspin cinematic to the mega themes. Something I plan to do some day.

Sure i will PM my E-mail to you... the idea is to upload the themes first, is a lot of work but i can do it slowly.

 

And if you share the PSD with me that will help me to modify the themes for my tastes  im happy with many megathemes I have found... just modify the characters in some or delete the from logos

Removed the Mega Drive logo from one of the MD 4x3 themes shrunk it and added it back in, adjusting some of the art to fit.
