Unified Megatheme - Extended

Not me, sorry! I have a widescreen TV and monitor. Can't see myself spending tons of time creating stuff I will never use. Why don't you get Photoshop? It's so much easier.

I don't like installing large software packages if I'm only going to use it for one thing. Even if I uninstalled it afterward I'd drive myself nuts looking for any traces left over in the registry and various folders which is stressful. It makes me happy when I can find portable versions of programs that are so much easier to move around and delete.

I grabbed art out of some of your 16:9 themes and resized and cropped the background to plug into my own 4:3 themes, so if you make some of these extended themes that way they'd still be useful for me too, but no biggie either way. I'm sure the art will eventually show up in a form I can use. I just saw these PSDs go up and immediately wanted to replace the old art I was still using for Japanese systems with gibbawho's awesome unified art :)

For the life of me I can't find the psd's for these themes. Am I crazy or have they not been uploaded? The only psd's I see are in the /Upload Here/gibbawho/--Unified Mega Theme--/Working/PSDs folder.

Oh and let me not forget to mention that the artwork in these themes is incredible and the character choices blended with the logo art topped with the video overlays is insane!! I could go on for a while about the little things I noticed in these themes that I was very happy to see. But I'm really trying to get a closer look in the psd.....that and rape and pillage the artwork.

Edit: nvm I was looking in the wrong folder

Gibbawho, I just tried your importing into flash 1080p process and yea....it works. Holy crap. Crystal clear at 1080p on my 65 inch plasma. No stretchy pixely mess.

When you do your video tutorial on this process it should be stickied because it's the best this fe will get until native widescreen support happens.

Thanks again for shedding light on this process.

I have just picked up Photoshop and plan to convert what gibbawho posts up as a good way for me to learn Photoshop and to give back to the community here. If you are willing to wait for gibbawho to post the video he spoke of and me to convert the files, then I'm your man! :)

Digging the new vid borders or at least I think they're new, they mesh pretty well. Not really a fan of that NES background though, just too much white going on and a bit too plain. Lots of wheels look bad on bright backdrops especially ones with white glow effects that won't show. For example, here's the static bg for the NES theme I'm using and most box art/wheels look good against it:

Also just for fun, wanted to see how one of your themes would look with a custom vid frame.

Still no plan for a HyperSync release?

That's really up to other people. I'd imagine they want the project a little more complete before they include it... if they want to include it at all. I'm not sure who makes that call even.

Good idea!

Is there any tutorial for convert themes 16:9 to 4:3 perfectly ?? I could do it

There's no perfect solution to do this. I would however suggest keeping the proportions correct whenever something is resized. Hurts my eyes every time something is stretched :P

Besides that it's purely a matter of placement of the artwork elements. Not a big deal within hyper theme.

Kyoken : All new alternates extended themes are not available for the time being, and we now have the artwork choice!

Alright I'll add an alt bg for nes.. something like what you posted there.

Dig the vid border. How many systems do you have that for?

at styphelus folder in the ftp you have 30 folders with 4:3 themes

styph can correct me if i'm wrong but those aren't 4:3 themes. There are a few 4:3 standard res themes in my folder somewhere. Feel free to use'm. But they'll eventually be replaced to match these extended themes in 4:3

Styphelus started out making 4x3 versions, but switched when he decided to go with a widescreen setup. He got through a large chunk of them too. Though these were done before you discovered the Flash method.

Thanks, just something a bit darker would work better. Doesn't need to be the same as the one I posted, even some grey shading would help. Anything but pure white.

I don't have nearly enough vid borders to work with all your themes but they were made by nlash. He has the templates you can check out if curious:

/Upload Here/nlash/PSDs.zip

I made a couple of my own for Atari 2600 and Super Famicom, but unfortunately they're already squished for widescreen and have shadows added. I lost the project file when a drive died on me, ugh. Either way, they're a ton of work to do from scratch (lots of vector shapes) and probably something to consider after all the base work is done.

Made some additions to the NES PSD. Added a new background by request of DamnedRegistrations. Also added a few new characters to the mix for more choice.

These have been added to OP and the PSD on the FTP has been updated.

Does somebody can make animated Backgrounds on FTP?

I'm unclear as to what you're asking for. Any backgrounds that are done are in themes and on the FTP. If they're not on the FTP ... then they're not done yet.

Sorry mistake ^^ Just to know if somebody can make swf files or a tuto for make them?

I decided to drop the artwork because I can't find complete sets for a lot of the systems I have, So instead I started creating some nice wheels. However, as you can see, there's a bit of blank space in the middle.

Is there a way to move the wheel more towards the center? I could move the video over to the right a bit but than the spacing on the left side would not match the spacing on the right side.
