husko Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 ALT NAMES פלאשבק: זיכרון גורלי, Flashback (Enhanced CD-ROM), Flashback, フラッシュバック YEAR 1993 PLATFORM DOS Also available on: Amiga - PC-98 RELEASED IN United States GENRE Action THEME Cyberpunk / Dark Sci-Fi, Platform, Puzzle-Solving, Shooter PUBLISHER Strategic Simulations, Inc. DEVELOPER Delphine Software International PERSPECTIVE Side view CAPTURES AND SNAPSHOTS DOS Amiga Screenshots from MyAbandonware DESCRIPTION OF FLASHBACK: THE QUEST FOR IDENTITY Flashback is a fun action adventure game that will please joystick experts and adventure gamers alike. Playing the role of Conrad B. Hart, a confused young man whose memory was wiped by the alien Morphs who caught him eavesdropping on their plan to conquer Earth. Your goal, of course, is to escape the from the grasp of the mutants and save earth from an untimely destruction. As with its spiritual predecessor Out of This World, Flashback features life-like animations, well-crafted cinematic cutscenes, and tons of atmosphere. But despite better graphics and longer levels, Flashback isn't quite as fun as Out of This World in several ways. For starters, the "puzzles" are somewhat repetitive, as most of them focus on getting Conrad from one point to another by pressing a button or throwing switches. Although there are objects you can pick up and store in your inventory, most of their uses are so obvious that adventure gamers won't even consider them "puzzle" at all. Furthermore, the game inherits Out of This World's save-only-at-save-point feature, but it is more frustrating this time around because most levels are much larger and more difficult. This means that if you die, you might have to spend hours retracing your steps, all the time hoping that you'd get to a new save point before the health meter goes to zero. Although this "realism" may appeal to some gamers, most of us who are not joystick gods will find it very irritating. Fortunately, Flashback's excellent storyline and great level design makes its weaknesses seem trivial, and makes the game worthwhile to perservere. Every new level introduces new challenges, dangers, and objects to manipulate and use. It's more derivative than innovative, but it's still one of the best action adventures you'll ever play. Thumbs up! Review By HOTUD A remake in HD has been made in 2013, you can get it on Steam. GAME THEME PREVIEW DOWNLOAD Flashback - The Quest for Identity (1993).psd
husko Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 Can not erase this game from my memory! Flashback is probably one of the best action / adventure games in the futuristic atmosphere of all time... The cinematic scenes are numerous and are realized with the same process and quality as the intro. The music is totally in the tone of the game, atmosphere action, suspense... Flashback is also one of the precursors of rotoscopy, the ancestor system of motion capture. Delphine Software is undoubtedly a name that easily revives many memories nostalgic in the minds of many players. Throughout the 1990s, this French company has developed several pearls of the world of video games that have been engraved in memory. FlashBack: The Quest for Identity is one of the most striking.

DEVELOPER Box Office, Inc. PERSPECTIVE 1st-Person CAPTURES AND SNAPSHOTS DOS Commodore 64 Screenshots from MyAbandonware DESCRIPTION OF THE $100,000 PYRAMID $100,000 Pyramid is a great computer version of The Pyramid game show, one of the most successful TV game shows ever made. The show was nominated 16 times for the Emmy Award, and won the Emmy nine times. This computer version is based on the latest version of the show, $100,000 Pyramid, hosted by John Davidson. The goal of this trivia quiz variant is to guess seven words in 30 seconds or less from a category that you select off the Pyramid. Played in three rounds, the team with the highest point total wins the game and moves on to the bonus round called The Winner's Circle for a chance at the grand prize. The object here is to describe what the category is: one person gives the clues, and the category is then guessed by the contestant. If the contestant guesses all six categories in 60 seconds or less, he/she wins the grand prize. This PC version of the show is very faithful to the original, although some of the questions are too obscure, and computer players' intelligence is quite low. Hundreds of trivia questions will likely keep fans entertained for hours, though, or at least the few minutes it'll take to reminisce about the golden days of television Recommended, and be sure to use slow down programs (e.g. MoSlo or Bremze) to make the game winnable. husko Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 ALT NAME ABC MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL YEAR 1989 PLATFORM DOS Also available on: Amiga - Commodore 64 RELEASED IN United States GENRE Sports THEME Football (American), Licensed Title PUBLISHER Data East USA, Inc. DEVELOPER Park Place Productions PERSPECTIVE Top-Down CAPTURES AND SNAPSHOTS DOS Amiga Commodore 64 Screenshots from MyAbandonware DESCRIPTION OF ABC MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Monday Night Football is a fun action-oriented football game from Data East that sports excellent VGA graphics, sounds (although they won't work in most new computers), and good controls. Gameplay is fast and simple: select a team you want to control, and direct the action in exhibition or tournament (which is simply a string of 10 exhibition games played in sequence). Monday Night Football was clearly not designed for diehard football fans who want a lot of managerial control or realism in their games. Here, the playbook is limited to only three strategies, for both offense and defense, and there is no play statistics whatsoever. Each player looks just like any other, and for all intent and purposes, all players are identical. Major football rules are implemented here, though, and there is some good commentary even if most comments are "canned." One of the best features of this game is that up to 10 players can compete in the tournament mode, each controlling a different team. This makes Monday Night Football a blast to play with friends, although only two (duh) can play at a time. For anyone looking for a fast "beer and pretzel" action-packed football game, this is a great choice, although its over-simplification makes it much inferior to Cinemaware's classic TV Sport Football. Fans of realistic football simulations are well advised to ignore Monday Night Football and play Tom Landry Strategy Football instead. Though, if you've never played this game before, I'd recommend the Sega CD version. It is definitely a superior version of the game compared to the original with better gameplay graphics, better cut scenes and awesome music. No matter which version of the game they all have the same storyline. Flashback looks and plays very similar to the classic Prince of Persia games.

One of the best Carmen Sandiego clones, Mario is Missing is a fun edutainment title that is aimed at educating kids ages 8-12 about the world's geography and history. As the title suggests, it stars Mario, Nintendo's most famous character whose reputation went far beyond the console. The plot will be familiar to any Mario fan: Bowser, the arch-nemisis of brothers Luigi and Mario, plans on kidnapping all the wold's most famous artifacts. So Mario, as usual, goes off to Bowser's castle in Antarctica to confront this villain, only to get captured himself. Now it's up to Luigi to find his bro and, while he's at it, recover all the world's treasures. While there are some jumping and platform-style maneuvers similar to the Nintendo games, this is no arcade adventure. Mario is Missing is actually a cleverly disguised voyage of discovery around the world, learning about various cultures, geography, and history. There are dozens of cities to visit around the world, and in each one you have to ask the locals to find out where you are so that you can direct your pal Yoshi to come to your assistance (he's still waiting in Antarctica). You've also got to find three evil koopas who are prowling the streets, having stolen three famous artifacts from the city's tourist attractions. Whenever you learn some interesting facts about the objects you're carrying, take note, because the girl in the tourist office will be asking you questions to make sure that you deserve the reward. The controls are a bit more complex than your average arcade games: you can talk to people, swap artifacts around, check out the city map, recall past conversations and call up a world map for summoning Yoshi. Overall, Mario is Missing won't give Carmen a run for her money, but it's still a very entertaining game for anyone who is not joystick-shy. The streets are a bit too repetitive, though, so a lot of patience is required. Review By HOTUD GAME THEME PREVIEW DOWNLOAD Mario is Missing! (1992).psd
