I'm a bassist, so I'm gonna post my favorite bass solo. This is for all the A-holes that try to say "bass guitar is easier to play than guitar". You're doing it wrong!!

lyrics

You say I need a job, I've got my own business you want to know what I do?

None of your fucking business

But now i'm lying here knowing that business I had a name, but now I'm a number

1 2 3 Repeater

Repeater

1 2 3 Repeater

Repeater

Down by law, I've got this nasty habit

When I need something I just reach out and grab it

Once upon a time I had a name and a way

But to you I'm nothing but a number

1 2 3 Repeater

Repeater

1 2 3 Repeater

Repeater

Did you hear something outside?

It sounded like a gun

Stay away from that window, Boy

It's not anyone we know only about ourselves and

What we read in the paper

Don't you know ink washes out

Easier than blood

But we don't have to try it

And we don't have to buy it

1 2 3

Repeater!

A frustrated lead guitarist ? Haha only joking!

Uh-oh,...now that this subject has been brought up, it's a must that I post this compilation of Cliff solos:

Even if it's not the fastest shit, he's got some great melodic touches.

We drove to Birmingham to see Fugazi probably around 89/90, bloody bouncers wouldn't let us in; we probably looked like we were too weak to take it. :(

We drove to Coventry to see Napalm Death, cancelled.

Drove to Colchester (200 bloody miles) to see Therapy, cancelled, ended up in McDonalds.

The days before the internets kids, but still fun.

One of my favorites comes from a rather recent album by Accept. Wolf Hoffman is a very underrated guitarist. Here's "Kill The Pain" off of the Blood of the Nations album from 2010 (solo starts at approx. 3:15):

Thanks for this J*, I can't believe they are still going, that obviously wasn't Udo singing :) Accept, Scorpions and Saxon were my introduction to metal. Love, Fast as a Shark.

No, not Udo. That's Mark Tornillo (from TT Quick). He's made three albums with Acceot so far and they are as good as, or better than, anything that Udo did with them. Don't get me wrong, I love Udo, but Mark Tornillo fits perfectly with this band. Highly recommended for you to pick up Blood of the Nations and Stalingrad. Their latest, Blind Rage, is great too.

I have always loved the solo on "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC, although its quite simple, it just fits the song like a glove. I have recently been listening to quite a new band called Jettblack. I love the song "Raining Rock". I am always on youtube on the lookout for up and coming rock/metal bands. Its hard to find bands with decent guitarists anymore sadly. Oh and Avenged Sevenfolds newest album is awesome too, especially the solo in "Coming Home", one of my new favourite songs.

Sorry to put you through my nonscense, please feel free to ignore it.

I took the children away for the weekend and on the trip I was thinking about this and other music related threads. A lot of the talk is geared towards the usual rock and metal from the UK and US, but what of other countries? My thoughts lead me to Australia where I'm aware of Men at Work, Midnight oil and those singing soup stars. Where's the Aus rock? Oh and the Hard-Ons of course.

And because we were on our way to see Santa and playing Christmas songs, which involved snow and chestnuts, I wanted to know, do Australians or other countries put out new Christmas songs without reference to snow and tinsel? Or do you all just listen to Bing Crosby as well?

Thanks
