gigapig Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) It appears that the 1.3.3.0 version of HyperSpin is causing a few issues for our newer members. Version 1.3.3.0 comes with the older version 2 of HyperLaunch in the root of HyperSpin and also contains the older modules. If you have an older set up or you know your way around this version, then please go ahead and use it. If however you've never used HyperSpin before and you want to be able to follow the new guides etc then here's what you need to do. Download HyperSpin from the downloads section. Download HyperLaunch from here. Follow a guide to install the software, either this guide or follow a video .If when you run HyperLaunch HQ you see no systems in the left pane, follow this .To keep HyperLaunch up to date follow this guide. Finally if when you run HyperSpin and launch a game you get a "cannot find HyperLaunch.exe" please change the path to HyperLaunch, you can do that by opening the settings.ini in Notepad. Navigate to the :HyperSpin\Settings folder and open the settings.ini file. You should see this. [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=MAME Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System= Hyperlaunch_Path=C:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ [Resolution] FullScreen=true Width=1024 Height=768 Scanlines_Active=true Scanlines_Image=scanlines_ag Scanlines_Scale=1 Scanlines_Alpha=0. Change the highlighted path accordingly to where you installed HyperLaunch which is normally, C:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ If I've missed anything or anyone has any additional info they would like to add, please post. Thanks. Edited March 13, 2015 by gigapig 1 3
32assassin Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 don't forget that the folder structure in Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 is set up to run with Hyperlaunch 2.0you can delete some of the files found in that zip file IF YOU ARE UPGRADING TO RocketLauncher.x.x.xYou can deleteHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\~Install Instructions.docHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\Modules ----> this are HL2 ModulesHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\7z.dllHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\7z.exeHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\AutoHotkey.dllHyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\Hyperlaunch.exe -----> this is HL2HyperSpin Install v1.3.3.0\EULA - Read Me.txtSome of this files are required by RocketLauncher. but will be downloaded and placed in the correct folder with the RocketLauncher download pack\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\AutoHotkey.dll\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Module Extensions\7z.dll\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Module Extensions\7z.exeAll the XMLs found in Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 should be treated as place holders, Make sure you download the latest ones from Hyperlist. Your Bowers might tell you this is a malicious site, ITS NOT, it registers as a malicious site because of the AHK (Modules) files http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/
gigapig Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 is this new ??? Nope, this one was put together due to the departure of HyperLaunch. There is no need for you to install it. @stucazzo Just hover your mouse pointer over the exe. The exe in the 1.3.3.0 download is still 1.3.2.
terminator2k2 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Just like to say a big thank you for posting this....helped me out a lot tonight....back up and running , even my mame works again. Just got a couple of hiccups to sort out , but other than that it's alive again.
Fromlostdays Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Yeah good thinking Giga. Maybe even worth a sticky? I'm surprised how many people haven't updated and it's been so long since I did that I can't even really remember the old way haha. Walter:beerglass:
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) Im not sure how corretn this is and to be honest I aint even watched it myself. But I did make this yesterday to help someone out. Take a look and see if it helps?? Its for new users starting from scratch. If you want/need me to change anything in it that will help, just let me know. I still have all the bits to make changes I will be adding more details for the GIT updates to HL, problem is that at the time of posting this, the site/links seem to be under construction so I cant give any details. My aim is to get a brand new user up and running with all the systems. Im upgrading all my systems at the moment so it makes good sense to do this at the same time. Just hope its ok and helping peeps?? Edited November 5, 2015 by SIMPLYAUSTIN 2 Simply Austin's YouTube
justice999 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Hello guys, I've tried this weekend to upgrade my setup (RL beta, an old one with HS 1.3.0.0) with these tutorial, I could make MAME work but not SNK NEOGEO MVS (it was using MAME module and roms) because I was getting a message: Cannot find: E\Hyperspin\Modules\SNK NEO GEO MVS.ahk You do not have HyperLaunch 2 module for SNK NEO GEO MVS. Please create one or check HyperList. I was using the last version of RL from the git, and HS from HS website. Anyone knows what was wrong? I could not make RetroArch work too, but Mame was working well. I'm also totally lost with all these version of HS and HL. We need to us HL2 and not RL, but RL is the most up to date etc.... What should I do? What version of HS and HL should I use? Thanks in advance.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Have you updated the modules as well as the HS and HLHQ? Simply Austin's YouTube
justice999 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Have you updated the modules as well as the HS and HLHQ? Yes, everything, I only kept the .ini with all my systems parameter (in order to dont add 135 systems again). But it was like I could not use MAME module and emulator with another system (like NEOGEO). SNES was giving me the same message (I'm using RetroArch for this system). Thanks. Edit: Should I try to update it again or wait for a new release (Rocketlauncher or a new version of HL2) ?
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Same with 99% of things around here... if you wait, you may get old and die Hmmm... its must be something silly... a step you have missed. With the New Hyperlaunch the folder structure is slightly dif, unless you change the settings by hand. Have you completed this stage? The only other thing I can think of is go through my vid and see if theres anything that does not match your setup. Im thinking its something to do with folder structure Simply Austin's YouTube
justice999 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Yes I think that too, modules folder, but MAME works perfectly... I will have a look. Thanks anyway.

Im thinking its something to do with folder structure I fixed my problem, I had to find HS 1.3.2.0, and I used the last RL version from git. So far so good, its working, MAME, RetroArch (but I better upgrade my version, im still using the stable one), NEO GEO MVS (but GLSL is only working with MAME). Thanks Edit: RA problem fixed by renaming config folder, but its time to upgrade my super old version. NEO GEO problem also fixed by turning off HyperLaunch in HyperHQ. So HS 1.3.2.0 + RL 3.1.0.5 seems to be a good combo
Aorin Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Hi, I need some explanations here. HyperSpin 1.3.3 release initial install files. Just unzip somewhere such as C:\HyperSpin , DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR PREVIOUS INSTALLATION, this is an all new HS.ChangeLog:v1.3.3 Reverted back to HyperLaunch 2 BundleSo, what does " Reverted back to HyperLaunch 2 Bundle" mean? And "DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR PREVIOUS INSTALLATION, this is an all new HS." What happens with what I already have, with all those new updated Hyperlaunches via GIT and modules and such? Sorry if I missed some important info here, but I think everyone who puts their eyes in this information ask themselves the same questions I put here. Thanks! 1 Aorin
justice999 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 If I understand correctly: HS 1.3.3 needs HL2 HS 1.3.2 needs RL
32assassin Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Hyerspin 1.3.2 = Hyperspin 1.3.3 Both can use HL2 or RL Hyperspin was updated and released as 1.3.2 for the use of HL-3 (renamed to Rocketlauncher). this site only supports HL2, it cannot be bundled with Rocketlauncher. Because of this Hyperpsin 1.3.2 was repackaged with HL2 and released as version 1.3.3 its up to the end user to decided what to use HL2 or Rocketlaunher. "DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR PREVIOUS INSTALLATION because you are better of doing a fresh install just in case you break your current WORKING Hyeprspin setup.

32assassin Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 if you have the ability to specify the location of Hyperlaunch. Don't bother updating; you are running the latest version of Hyperspin, [ Main]Menu_Mode=multiSingle_Mode_Name=MAMEEnable_Exit_Menu=trueEnable_Exit=trueExit_Default=yesExit_Action=exitVersion=1.0.0.0Last_System=Hyperlaunch_Path=C:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ previous versions of Hyperspin (up to version 1.3.0) that ran HL1 or HL2 don't have the ability to do this because the location of Hyperlaunch was tied to the Hyperspin folder. 1
Metalzoic Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Yes, I agree it is confusing. Your best bet is probably to follow Austins videos. They are up to date and they do a good job of walking you through it.
suspendedhatch Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Ugh. Mistakes are being made. Regret will follow.
