romeo20007 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Anybody has a list of the best running emulators with the best compatibility with Hyperspin? Thanks
32assassin Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Hyperspin launches any exe, this includes emulators. emulator compatibility is based on your PC not Hyperspin. if you need a list of what emulator to use. look over this thread http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/769-what-emulators-are-for-what-systems-list/
THK Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 List of the best working emulator I don't get why you need the best working emulator. Why emulate work when you can work for money. Anybody has a list of the best running emulators with the best compatibility with Hyperspin? Thanks Just go outside and run IRL already! ..........................back with a vengeance........................
romeo20007 Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 I previoulsly could not get some emulators to run in hyperspin, this ways many years agon but i will post whatever I cannot get running if that happends again.
romeo20007 Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 I cannot run FCUX nintendo emulator,, I added the parameters "%s" and extension NES now what? I get the list of all games and emulators opens with an errors then nothing
suspendedhatch Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Well the pinned thread is out of date and now appears as a mess of code so this can be considered a legitimate question. This is what I have. I try to keep on top of things to have the most accurate emulators and ones that are being actively developed. RetroArch for mostly everything it supports. Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx, Nintendo N64, Nintendo Game Boy (Advance*, and Color), Super Famicom, Panasonic 3DO, Sega 32X, Sega CD, Sega Game Gear, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color, Super Nintendo Entertainment System *For Game Boy Advance, change the RetroArch core to mGBA as it is much more accurate than the default. Mednafen for PSX, Bandai WonderSwan Color, NEC TurboGrafx-16. It's on the cutting edge while RetroArch has a slight lag to incorporate Mednafen updates. MESS for any of the really old and obscure systems not supported by RetroArch, ie Atari 5200, ColecoVision. MESS is like Mednafen compared to RetroArch. It's the cutting edge. MAME for Arcade and SNK Neo Geo Raine ("Neo Raine" module) for SNK Neo Geo CD puNES or RetroArch for NES and Famicom. puNES probably has a slight advantage in accuracy over NEStopia. nullDC for Dreamcast Sega Model 2 Emulator for Sega Model 2 PCSX2 for PS2 (don't actually have this) SSF for Sega Saturn Dolphin for GameCube and Wii (don't have this either. system not powerful enough) WinUAE for Commodore Amiga CD32 Daphne (never got it working)

This was really helpful. I'm going to tweak my go to emulators using your suggestions.
romeo20007 Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Emucom so far runs the most systems I have without a issues.. I'll keep looking to see if there was something I did or I missed
Styphelus Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I agree with the above list. That was spot on. However I use Retroarch for TurboGrafx 16 and Nintendo (Nestopia core) just for convinence. For PSX I use ePsxe. You can use Retroarch for PSX as well but I like all the graphix plugins and high res that ePsxe offers. Also, if you want the home version of the Neo Geo, use Mess instead of Mame. Mame give you the arcade version. Mess gives you the home console version with added difficulty modes. Personal preference on this one.
nimpa Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I use fba for neogeo heh Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Capa Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I messed up updating my HLHQ to RocketLauncher and now have to set it all up again. So gonna update all my emu's and such. What are you guys using for Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari Jaguar? I find mess doesn't work well with with the Atari 5200.. and mapping 2 players in Retroarch for the Atari 2600 only works for one controller. I was and am planning on using Retroarch as much as I can.
nimpa Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Easier setting up controls with it.. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
32assassin Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Atari 2600 = Stella Mess only has 1 controller input Atari 5200 = kat5200 Atari 7800 = Mess (Emu7800 for the 5 or so gun games) Emu7800 only has 1 controller input Atari Jaguar = Virtual jaguar
heatonik Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 best frontend ever! only thing i use in my mame cab.
Styphelus Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Is the new Virtual jaguar better than Retroarch? Can you add a bezel and scanlines to it? I have Retroarch working great but there are a couple of games where the menus g off the screen if I want the game to fit the screen properly. Update: Having tried the latest version of Virtual Jaguar, I have to say Retroarch is still a much better solution.
OneBadVeggie Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Let's see:Retroarch - Atari 2600 (Stella Core), Atari Jaguar (Virtual Jaguar Core), Atari Lynx (Handy Core), Turbografx-16/CD (Mednafen PCE-Fast Core), Nintendo 64 (Mupen64plus Core), NES (Nestopia Core), Game Boy/Game Boy Color (Gambatte Core), Game Boy Advance (VBAM Core), Virtual Boy (Mednafen VB Core), Panasonic 3DO (4DO Core), Sega 32X (Picodrive Core), Sega CD/Genesis/Game Gear/Master System/ SG-1000 (Genesis Plus GX Core), Sega Saturn (Yabause Core) SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color (Mednafen NGP Core) Sony Playstation (Mednafen PSX Core) Super Nintendo (BSNES Accuracy Core) MESS - Atari 7800, Colecovision, Mattel Intellivision, SNK Neo Geo CD Kat 5200 - Atari 5200 Daphne - Daphne MAME - MAME Atomiswave/Sega Naomi/Assorted Sega Dreamcast - Demul 58 Sega Dreamcast - nullDC Sega Model 2 - Sega Model 2 Emulator Sega Model 3 - SuperModel Now, looking at what others have picked, I'll explain some of my options that seem to be less popular... GBA - I use the VBAM core, because I was always told that was best. But if mGBA is better, I'll test it out asap. Atari 7800 - I have never had any luck running ProSystem or the ProSystem core. Don't know why, multiple games won't run, or the colors will be inverted, all sorts of trouble. For the most part I've never had any problems with running it through MESS. (I use Ace of Aces as my example of game that just won't run for me) Atari 5200 - MESS works fine, but Kat5200 is far more accurate, and a lot of games that don't run in MESS DO work in Kat5200 (look at Choplifter as an example). SNK Neo Geo CD - MESS works great, never had any problem, and eliminates the need for having to have MORE emulators installed. I know FBA is probably "better", but I've had 0 issues with MESS other than longer loading times. Sega Saturn - I should go back to SSF, but that emulator is such a hassle. The yabause core is much better on retroarch than it is in the normal emulator... but even then it freezes a ton, so it's not optimal... I just find SSF to be a drag to work with.
potts43 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Atari 2600 = Stella Mess only has 1 controller input You need to go into 'slots' after pressing TAB in mess and set player 2 up. I love Stella and also retroarch but I found MESS using Hlsl a real treat
Awakened Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 GBA - I use the VBAM core, because I was always told that was best. But if mGBA is better, I'll test it out asap. The latest 64bit nightly of that core is really good. I switched to using it as my default GBA core. There are some minor issues with Mother 3 + English patch and FFI+II that VBA-M has that mGBA doesn't. Also, Endrift added solar sensor adjustment and rumble support as upcoming features for the libretro port. I'm looking forward to those
narfolamew Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Any one know about Jaguar cd? I'm not having much luck getting it working, I've tried a couple different emulator and nothing
Styphelus Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Any one know about Jaguar cd? I'm not having much luck getting it working, I've tried a couple different emulator and nothing As far as I know, there aren't any emulators for jaguar CD.
