Hey everyone! First off, a huge thank you to everyone who reported bugs, shared comments, and threw in suggestions over the past week. I’m doing my best to keep up, but it’s clear we’ve got an amazing group of testers who are leaving no stone unturned. You all rock! So, it’s been a week—where’s the next beta?! Well, here’s the scoop: we went back to the drawing board on the cache system. Based on your feedback and the discussions here, we realized we needed something more robust and foolproof. The good news? The updated cache system is in internal testing right now. During the final round, we uncovered a few extra things that need fixing before it’s ready to roll out. While we expect a few hiccups here and there, our goal is to have fewer issues than the current build. That’s why we’re holding off until next week. Here’s what you can expect in the new beta: No more _cache folder—saving you time and disk space. No waiting for cache rebuilds in the wheel manager. Faster cache rebuilds—our early metrics show it’s taking about 2 seconds per system. Smaller, more efficient cache files with better performance. Full support for overrides in the cache. We’re aiming for a Friday release! I’ll be out of town for a work event (yes, I’d rather be here with you all, but bills don’t pay themselves). While I’m away, the team will be wrapping up some final bugs in both HQ and HyperSpin. Here’s a short list of what’s on their plate: Wheel images show instead of text where possible in the system view. Custom system support: bypass match-making and add whatever you want. Name your system during the setup wizard. Steam updates to support more media. Fixed the default themes download bug. Auto-login added for EmuMovies when you get logged out. Option to remove collections in the manager. HQ update dialog no longer gets blocked by downloads. Bugfix for the plugin system to improve HyperSpin updates. Bezel project patch applied for smoother functionality. And let’s not forget our incredible content creators—they’ve been absolutely crushing it. If you haven’t already, check out @RetroHumanoid's latest themes—they’re amazing! And a massive shoutout to @baddeolvfor his work on the default HyperSpin set. He’s been tirelessly covering almost every core system we support, and the results speak for themselves. Plus, we’ve got a few new artists jumping in and experimenting with the updated toolset. The feedback and the flood of stunning new themes are a joy to see! After the next release, we’re diving into updates for the theme builder, focusing on bug fixes and workflow enhancements to make it even smoother. Future releases of the theme builder will introduce support for shaders, groups, and so much more. I can’t wait to get started! As always, thanks for all your support, feedback, and enthusiasm—it’s what keeps us going. Can’t wait to see what’s next! Stay awesome, -fr0stbyt323 points

Hey yall! Welcome to our new Hyperspin! For anyone who used/uses Launchbox,I am sure you might have heard of the theme I created back in 2018 called Unified Refried. It is currently the 2nd highest downloaded theme for LB,only sitting under City Hunter 2,which was released over a full year before it,at a time where custom themes were not rampant. Refried covers over 220+ systems, each with HQ artwork, creating a unified and colorful look across all platforms, while also looking professional. Despite how long this is going to take me (and it will) I have decided to bring that theme over to Hyperspin! I will gradually be adding more and more to it in HyperTheme during this beta period, and hope that users will download, and enjoy using it in their setups. Any and all constructive criticism,or suggestions is always welcome. Hyperspin Refried Main Menu Theme - Hyperspin Refried Game Theme -17 points

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who’s been testing, reporting bugs, and sharing feedback. Your input has been invaluable, and I really appreciate the patience as we work through everything. I know we didn’t have a launch last week, and I wanted to address that. Some core systems—especially the cache system and UI updates—needed more work before they were ready. Rather than pushing out something unfinished, we took the extra time to make sure things were in a better state before releasing. It’s still a beta, so expect some rough edges, but we feel this build is in a much better place than it would have been last week. Over the past two weeks, we’ve overhauled the UI in all settings pages, made system setup smoother, optimized downloads, and added MUGEN support. You can now add multiple systems at once, pick multiple folders when selecting game directories, and we’ve made major improvements to cache handling, controller support, and error logging. Here’s what’s new: HyperHQ RetroArch Core Selector – No more manual typing! Select the core from a dropdown, and we’ll handle the command. For customization, click Advanced. System Setup Improvements – Automatically creates all override folders when adding new systems. New System Support – Added support for systems without a complete game list. Media Sounds Bug Fixed – Prevented duplicate downloads. Download Improvements EmuMovies video downloads are now optimized. Fixed issue where new downloads were not set as active. ROM Management Fix – Deleted games will no longer reappear. New Refresh Option – Added the ability to refresh overrides. MUGEN Support Added – Clear your system cache in the cache menu for the best experience. Updated System Add Component – Now supports adding multiple systems at the same time. Updated LED Blinky Support. Fixed Launching Error Logs. Multiple Folder Selection – Now possible when selecting game folders. Cache & Log System Improvements Updated Cache Service – Dozens of tweaks to fix corruption and errors. Updated Log System – More logs added for cache tracking. Updated UI for Cache Page – Improved settings menu for better navigation. UI Updates Updated UI for All Settings Pages – Improved design, layout, and usability across all settings menus. Updated UI for Intro & Outro Videos – Enhanced layout and functionality. Updated Plugin Page UI – Improved design and usability. HyperSpin Controller Fixes – Resolved issues where the main menu wasn’t responding to controllers. HyperTheme ThemeBuilder Fix – Fixed a double-select error. Profile Management Fix – Resolved errors when deleting a client. Collection Theme Errors Fixed – Various improvements for a smoother experience. In the Works: Revamped Controller Support One of the biggest things we’re working on right now is revamped controller support with direct HID input control. The goal is to eliminate the remaining controller issues and provide a more seamless, native experience. This is still in development, but early testing looks promising. More details soon! Thanks again for all your support, testing, and feedback. I know waiting an extra week for this one wasn’t ideal, but we wanted to make sure things were in a better place before pushing it out. As always, let me know if you run into anything, and we’ll keep making it better. Happy gaming!14 points

You might've noticed today that things are starting to find their way from Upload Here into their proper places. That's because I've started picking away at it. At the rate I'm going, it should be more or less complete in about a month or two. I also plan on reviewing every subsection for misplaced items, and I'll be putting those where they belong as well. Please be patient, as I'm doing this a bit each weekday as I have free time. It's a process. We're getting there!13 points

Hey everyone! Important Installation Notice Due to the level of changes in this update, we highly recommend performing a clean installation to avoid compatibility issues. Please follow these steps: Uninstall your current version of HyperHQ and HyperSpin. Delete the following directories manually: C:\Users\[your_username]\.HyperHQ Your HyperSpin install directory Install the latest version fresh from our official source. This will fix issues for users who installed in custom directories and ensure that all settings and media comply with the latest version. We’ve been hard at work making improvements to HyperHQ and HyperSpin, focusing on performance, usability, and bug fixes. Below is a breakdown of the latest changes. HyperHQ Updates MAME Enhancements Player count is now a preference, not a filter – Selecting “2 players” will prioritize 2-player versions of games but won’t exclude playable 4-player games. Support for 'imperfect' ROMs – These are now recognized as playable and will no longer be filtered out. Improved clone detection – Enhancements to ensure better ROM organization. ROM Handling & Downloads Duplicate handling improvements – Games from multiple regions, languages, and sets are now properly merged. Video download updates – Fixes matching errors for more accurate media retrieval. Memory utilization improvements – Downloads are now more efficient and less memory-intensive. Cache System Overhaul New UI for cache progress – You can now track cache building progress in real time in HQ. Faster cache builds – Expect 60-70% faster cache build times compared to previous versions. Media override fixes – Bugs affecting media verification and overrides have been resolved. Auto Import & System Performance Improved auto-import logic – More refinements coming in future updates. Performance boosts – Faster system loading times and smoother navigation. UI Enhancements – The title bar now uses background assets where applicable. Logging & Debugging HQ logs moved to a dedicated folder – Now located in /logs within the HyperHQ directory. New log viewer – Access it via Settings > HyperHQ > Logs. ROM Details & Media Fixes UI refinements – Smoother experience when viewing ROM details. Bugfix for media apply state – Ensures proper display of applied changes. HyperSpin Updates Media Improvements Updated music support – Enhancements to in-game music handling. Intro/Outro bug fixes – Resolved issues affecting intro and outro sequences. Cache Enhancements Full support for new cache improvements – Includes all performance and UI updates from this build. Controller Fixes Navigation improvements – Controller input handling has been refined for a smoother experience. Final Notes These updates bring significant improvements to usability, speed, and overall functionality. As always, we appreciate feedback from the community—let us know if you run into any issues or have feature suggestions! Happy gaming!10 points

We’re back! Thank you all for your patience while we finalized the new cache system this week. After a long week of travel, testing, and refinements, we’ve made significant improvements, fixed some stubborn bugs, and introduced new features based on your feedback. A few of you already spotted the early release, but here’s what to expect: Cache System Improvements The _cache folder is gone—freeing up space and eliminating unnecessary files. No more waiting for cache rebuilds in the wheel manager! Full cache rebuilds now take about 20 seconds per system. Smaller, more optimized cache files for better performance. Full support for overrides in the cache system. After updating, opening HyperHQ will automatically start the cache build process. The initial build takes about 20 seconds per system, but don’t worry—this is a one-time process. It won’t repeat every time you open the app. Once the cache is fully built, the blue message box will turn green, indicating everything is ready to go. From that point on, any newly added systems will build their cache dynamically in just a second or so, ensuring a smoother and faster experience. New Features & Fixes Custom system support – bypass match-making and add whatever you want. The setup wizard now lets you name your system—useful for managing multiple setups. Steam updates now support more media types. Fixed the default theme downloads bug. Auto-login for EmuMovies when you get logged out. Ability to remove collections in the manager. The HQ update dialog is no longer blocked by downloads. Fixed a plugin system bug for smoother HyperSpin updates. Applied a Bezel Project patch for better functionality. Increased download speeds across the board. We’re still working through a few remaining issues from internal testing. For example, cart and disk artwork isn’t displaying correctly in some themes—we expect to have this resolved early next week. @RetroHumanoid is at it again this week! Here is just a small sample of the awesome work I've been testing. This weekend, we’re focusing on polishing any remaining community-reported issues in HQ and implementing a few additional quality-of-life improvements. Thanks again for all the feedback—keep it coming, and enjoy the update!10 points

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to all our amazing beta testers for an awesome first week. We’re already 6 builds in with 12 new features and over 80 fixes—talk about a busy week! None of this would’ve been possible without you all taking the time to test and give feedback. Over the next few weeks, we’ve got a bunch of big changes planned for our backend systems—starting with our caching. Right now, we cache a lot of data to keep HyperSpin running fast, but rebuilding that cache whenever something changes isn’t as speedy as we’d like. Thanks to your input, we’ve gone back to the drawing board and completely redesigned it! By the end of next week, we’ll have a new setup that’s quicker, smarter, and doesn’t rely on the old _cache folder. This should squash a bunch of issues you’ve been seeing, like missing or default-reverting themes and wheel images that just won’t update. In the meantime, if you want to test HyperSpin after making changes, the best trick is to open the wheel manager, move a wheel (or make any small tweak), and let the cache rebuild. Depending on how big your setup is, it might take a few minutes. We also heard your feedback loud and clear after our first livestream—you wanted media overrides, and now you’ve got ‘em! We delayed them at first to focus on our new media distribution system, but I’m excited to say you can now override wheels, boxes, carts, and more. We’ve even added video marquees and video themes. For the main menu, just name the file after the system; for games, use the same name as the ROM. After the cache rebuilds, all your overrides should be good to go. One more thing: a big shoutout to the content creators making amazing themes this week— @RetroHumanoid, @baddeolv, John, and @yaron. You guys have made some truly stunning artwork. I’m using themes that are sometimes only a few hours old, and it really brings everything together in a big way! A quick note on video themes: they do use more memory. A typical theme might be around 10MB, while some video themes can hit 1GB. I’ll share more details on performance and trade-offs in another post. For now, here’s a quick demo to show them off in action! 2025-01-17 16-22-07.mp4 Thanks again for all your support, everyone. Your feedback is what keeps us going, and we can’t wait to show you all the cool stuff that’s still in the pipeline. I’ll be taking it easy this weekend to rest up before another big week ahead—stay tuned!10 points

Hyperspin 2.0 is not Hyperspin anymore. By tying it all up behind encryption, no xmls , all having to use the same themes, can’t backup your files , it’s not portable and on and on is the reason why I want Hyperspin 1.5 updated instead. At best it will just be another Launchbox and that has a 7 year head start on Hyperspin 2. I bet if you had asked all your members what they wanted before you started Hyperspin 2 as it is , 90% would have said to rewrite Hyperspin 1.5 and keep it all as it was with improved resolution etc To not just upgrade Hyperspin 1.5 (which still to this day is THE GOAT of front ends) and go in another direction instead is just unbelievable. I have been a member for over a decade and have all fronts including Launchbox. None come close to Hyperspin. I hope I am proved wrong and Hyperspin 2 surpasses 1.5 , but I can already see it won’t. ps, Thanks for the reply9 points

HQ System - view type persists Videos - videos were downloading to the wrong directory in some configurations Plugins - HS should update on startup UI - don't allow user to launch HS until its installed Wheel Manager - when setting something to not visible, the UI didn't persist MAME - refresh disabled for now until custom system can be made specifically for MAME Media Overrides - You can now override media for most media types. You can find the new overrides in [installDir]\media\Systems\_overrides Using items in these folders take priority over the media in the HS managed directories. In a future update, this will also allow video marquee and video themes. HS Media override support Bug fixes for Menu Keyboard service fixes9 points

Hey everyone! It’s been a few weeks since our last update, and we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes—especially on the Theme Engine, which has been our primary focus. Thanks to all the amazing feedback from the artist community, we’ve made huge strides toward what we think will be the most fun and flexible theme-building experience yet. Theme Engine Updates The latest build includes several major enhancements: New and improved UI controls A brand-new 3D Perspective Mode Faster load times in HyperSpin Better performance loading and rendering themes Coming Soon We’re continuing to build on this momentum with exciting new features that will roll out shortly: Shader support Element grouping Group-based animations If everything stays on schedule, HyperSpin and the next version of ThemeBuilder are expected to release next Friday. HyperHQ Improvements We’ve also been making important updates to HyperHQ, many of which were driven by user reports: Fixed bezel-related issues in the download process Updated EmuMovies login handling Bug fixes and improvements for Steam integration Resolved a startup hang issue reported by several users We’re also laying the groundwork for our next big milestone: a brand-new controller system for HyperSpin and HQ. Once the current HS update wraps, controller improvements will begin rolling out—bringing support to more device types and improving compatibility overall. Looking Ahead We’re moving to a bi-weekly release cycle, which will give us enough breathing room between builds to focus on bigger and more impactful updates as we head into summer. Final Thoughts A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey—whether you’re testing, building themes, or sharing feedback. Your input has been instrumental in shaping HyperSpin’s next chapter. Even the critiques have been helpful, and it’s genuinely made this project exciting again. Hats off to all of you. Stay tuned—more updates are right around the corner! 2025-04-04_10-35-08.mp48 points

Hey everyone! We've been making significant progress on improving startup speed in HyperSpin and optimizing cache performance. Internal testing shows that startup times are now 3-4x faster, and cache rebuild times have been reduced to just 2-3 seconds, which is approximately 10x faster. Fixes and Enhancements Emulators: Fixed an issue where the launch button on the edit screen only worked when using default directories. EmuMovies: Resolved an issue where high-quality settings were not working correctly. Cache: Added a "Sync All Media" option. Cache: Revalidation now shrinks the database and builds much quicker. Core: Prevented HyperSpin from launching multiple instances. Themes: Fixed Master System theme download issues. Themes: Updated the default HyperSpin theme. Systems: Fixed an issue where launching a game would refresh the game list to the top. Import: Stopped the importer from running by default. Installer: Fixed an issue where the installer would update the wrong directory. Downloads: Additional speed improvements implemented. Systems: Added cart, box back, and background views to the dropdown menu. Controller Support Update While making these improvements, we’ve also been working hard on new controller support for both HQ and HS. Internal testing will begin soon, and once it’s ready, we’ll roll it out to everyone. The major changes include: Support for more than 4 controllers (previously limited by the API we used). Expanded support for additional controller types. Many of you have brought us unique controllers I've never encountered before, and it’s been so much fun to figure out how they work and integrate them properly. Future Plans: ThemeBuilder Enhancements Once controller support is complete, we’ll shift our focus to ThemeBuilder improvements. Expect features such as: Group animations Child/linked animations Filters & shaders And much more! These updates will roll out incrementally throughout Q2, so stay tuned for more details. Thank You! A huge thank you to everyone who has been testing and providing feedback. The past few months have been some of the most rewarding in HyperSpin’s development, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Happy gaming!8 points

I just wanted to say that it is extremely exciting to see HyperSpin being developed again. Being honest, I migrated everything to LaunchBox several years ago, but I'd never given up hope that HS 2.0 was still going to see the light of day. While long delays in updates can and did lead to a lot of folks jumping ship, I will always consider returning if/when 2.0 reaches the same level of maturity as LB. One area where HS always did have an advantage (and still does with this new release) is in theme development. HyperTheme was always such a fun, intuitive tool. I'm SO glad that isn't changing and is being modernized and improved. Everything I'm seeing so far looks really promising and with fr0stby3 and crew on the job, I have no doubt things will only keep moving in the right direction. I understand the disappointment a lot of users felt in OG HyperSpin's slow descent into deprecation, but I think it's absurd to hold any ill will towards the developers for it. Original HS was still usable, if severely outdated, till the last day. But we have to remember that this is a HOBBY for these guys running parallel to the demands of a regular life. Let's look forward to the future and expend energy on smoothing out the wrinkles and eradicating some bugs!7 points

Man.. I feel where you are coming from. My job was going well, finances were under-control. The smaller tech company that I worked for was bought out by a larger tech company. I got a nice raise, great bonus, and all was going great with this new company... So, I put down a good amount and bought a brand new house back in June of 23. We were constantly ensured by our immediate manager and director that our jobs were very safe and they did not foresee anything happening. Well... I was laid off in July of 24. Thankfully I had severance package that would get me by for a little while... I got close to not being able to pay the mortgage, but was able to pull through somehow. I sortta expected that most companies would stop hiring until after the US elections. For the most part, I started getting multiple interviews and noticed more positions had opened with companies that I had previously queried. I recently, within the past month, got a new job with what seems to be an awesome semi-startup company. Hopefully, things will pickup for you very soon as well. I think a lot of people forgot, or just were not around the scene, back when we first released HyperSpin upon the community. It wasn't smooth, there were tons of complaints, criticism, and overall negativity about the front-end. HyperSpin was too flashy, too graphic intensive, required too much work to setup, difficult to build themes, would take forever to get decent themes, XML game list/database, blah blah blah... I could go on with the things people said then. That was very reminiscent to the way your other thread went. Everyone, even myself, was excited for HyperSpin 2 back nearly 10 years ago... HyperSpin has always been a hobby for the people involved in development. It seems that users forget that everyone involved in projects like this have our own lives. Several of us have families and jobs now that we didn't really have back when working on HS1 and initial HS2 development. Life happens... Original HS2 development was a casualty of life. Then Adobe killed off Flash/AS3, plugins that were relied upon for development were killed off. Microsoft killing off support for necessary libraries that HyperSpin 1 needed. Just about everything in/from the original HyperSpin 1 has become obsolete in one way or another. Even the artwork and themes... Over the years people have continued trying to expand HyperSpin. Many of you guys have great passion for HyperSpin and we don't question that at all. The enthusiasm, even after a decade, for HyperSpin is incredible. None of us want to start anything over. Especially things that we have sunk hundreds of hours and over a decade doing... We are very familiar with RocketLauncher and everything it can do, as it was initially created for HyperSpin. That team spun off and created the RocketLauncher you have today. RocketLauncher is great at what it can do, no doubt about it. We could have easily just incorporated RocketLauncher into HyperSpin 2, required people to set it up and be done. BOOOM! You have a new flashy front-end with an outdated, bloated, backend. We are approaching HyperSpin 2 development with a new way of thinking that does not include RocketLauncher. However, it seems that many have RocketLauncher engraved in their brains and hardwired for it to be the end all be all. Not even 24 hours pass from release and you guys IMMEDIATELY started jumping into trying to get RL running with HyperSpin 2. This is/was a punch in the face to the work that has been done to get to this point. This goes against the overall vision that we have for HS2. We don't need testing to be done with another groups piece of software in mind. Of course we are open to suggestions and feature requests. We may not be able to give feedback to every single request, but it's read and taken into possible consideration. What we really need from the community right now and within the current state of release... What do you like that's been done so far? What is working good? What's not working? What could need enhancement? What would you like to see? So, for not including another groups piece of software, of course this is definitely perceived as "being bitched at".7 points

Has anyone been able to download videos It looks like their top focus is to stop people profiting by selling these drives and to hell with the end user. Surely they could have found a solution where you had to purchase a new license for every specific setup ? This is NEVER going to work if they won't allow us to use our own media and setup any systems we like. I have over 600+ wheels and 90% of them I have created media for myself, be it from scratch or editing videos from Youtube etc, all now useless. It's like they have never used Hyperspin before and made Hyperspin 2 blind, without even looking at what it was previously. Also the way they have it, we will ALL have exactly the same setups that are dictated by what they allow us to download. Ridiculous !!!!7 points

I know it's easy to be frustrated with the quiet around here in recent years, but don't take that to mean nothing's happening. When I said in another thread that "big things are in the works", I meant exactly that. I'll add that you all will know what I'm talking about very soon. I can't wait. That's all I can say right now.7 points

Over the past week, we’ve refined the UI, streamlined performance at startup, and tackled key bugs affecting game lists. You can now rely on CRC checks for systems to get real-time status updates, and the newly refreshed UI design ensures smoother navigation. We’ve also addressed issues with RetroArch integration, resolved duplication errors, and consolidated logs for easier troubleshooting. Here’s what’s new: HyperHQ Emulators Launch Bug Fix: Resolved an issue preventing games from launching properly after editing an emulator. RetroArch Improvements: Fixed RetroArch core settings. Fixed a bug where custom RetroArch installs did not display selectable cores. UI Enhancements: Improved the emulator UI for a cleaner, more intuitive experience. Games Refresh Duplicates: Fixed an issue where refreshing the game list could create duplicate entries. Systems Add System View: Updated UI for a wider layout, displaying more data. Automatically syncs newly added systems to Settings > Cache. System CRC Checks: Added CRC checks for systems, providing status updates on potential issues. Downloads Main Menu Video: Fixed an error preventing main menu videos from loading. Expanded Support: Added compatibility for additional systems. Startup Performance Fix: Addressed lag issues experienced when launching HyperHQ. Logs Unified Log Viewer: Consolidated HyperSpin and HyperHQ logs into a single interface. Search HQ Search Bug Fix: Corrected an issue where searching within HyperHQ was not functioning properly. HyperSpin Updates (2.0.35) Image Scaling Bug Fix: Corrected a scaling issue that affected image display. Controller Exit Fix: Resolved an issue preventing controllers from properly exiting HyperSpin. Missing Images Fix: Addressed a bug where the wrong image would display if the intended image was missing. Theme Player Update: Made improvements to the theme player for a smoother experience. One of the biggest items on our radar remains the new direct HID controller support. We’re still a few weeks out from having it fully integrated, but each round of testing has brought us closer to a smooth, native experience. We appreciate your patience as we iron out the final kinks. Thank you, as always, for your support and feedback. These updates wouldn’t be possible without your help. Keep the suggestions coming, and we’ll keep refining. Happy gaming!6 points

It takes a little longer for the current cache system to rebuild, which is what it looks like you're seeing there. For now, making changes in the wheel manager and waiting for it to complete should fix up all your issues. Don't worry though, changes are coming next week that should fix you right up.

Shredder and Dazz, I am sad to hear about your bad professional experiences, I hope the situation will improve or continue to improve for you. We live in an era where money dictates everything and human relations comes way behind. I worked myself for 20 years in the aeronautic business, had a great job directing a factory plant, which became increasingly toxic because of the pressure to produce always more, always quicker with less and less direct human relations. When I said I would leave because I couldn't stand it anymore, I became a nobody instantly in the company, like I was radioactive or contagious. The time where human relationships could solve many problems was over and nowadays it can be tough for guys our generation (sorry Shredder, you are much younger :). Dazz, I appreciate how you have presented the situation in your latest post here and I thank you for that. It's much better than: "hey, we are back with the new version you were waiting for ! By the way you will have to start from scratch, but it is not a problem because what had been done before, especially the last few years, was crap". At least that is the way I interpreted what I read. I may be too sensitive about the subject but I love Hyperspin, I have spent sooo much time working on my setup like everybody else, I loved Hyperspin back when it started and the years afterward, and the last few years I enjoyed tremendously the work of guys like floatinyeti, hoscarconh, mackano, emanu, andyman, espartano, publio, jesfrnkys, dark13, Nanometrovo, creez, pademonium, johnfreitassousa and so many others who have kept Hyperspin alive. But I will stop complaining and try to be helpful with the new version, if possible, with my modest skills. I am old enough to remember the first months/years of Hyperspin and the fantastic work you produced Dazz, along with BBB and the other original devs and media creators. I remember the problems, the controversies. Back then, the other frontends were so poor, graphically and features speaking. I was using Gameex before, so you can imagine the revolution when Hyperspin arrived. The themes, and in particular the game themes were and still are what makes Hyperspin stand out from the crowd for me. It can be messy but I love the colours, the animation, the sounds, much like the arcades of our youth ! I will have a few questions and eventually propositions to raise but I will open separate topics for that. Long live Hyperspin !!!5 points

As someone who has never used any other frontend other than Hyperspin, (that would be very wrong) this news from @retrohumanoid is very exciting and kind. Looking forward to seeing your work in HS2. Cheers.5 points

I've been building a more formal bug tracking system. https://hyperspin-fe.com/development-bug-tracking/ This is open and available for submissions. I may need to tweak it, but it should be able to collect some decent data. Please submit all bugs on this tracker. We will be adding the link to the site here shortly.5 points

It certainly has a few good things going for it, been testing it now for a few hours and gave up now. I don't mind the beta quirks and short comings, a lot can fixed with time. My main gripe with it is the media management. I get it from a creators perspective, close the loop, hide HS1 and drive everyone to the "cloud". The open and accessible part is a must in my opinion without a cloud dependancy. On a more positive note, i like the working of the new frontend and setup of HS Theme editor and what it offers. Unless the media management changes, i am not inclined to invest more time into it.5 points

I agree with both of you. It's very locked down. Without the freedom to create/edit my own databases and quickly manage media its doesn't feel like an acceptable replacement to HyperSpin. But...it's only in the testing phase. Rocketlauncher compatibility was already promised. I hope database creation and media management are unlocked in the future. My experience today with HyperSpin 2.0 made me happy. Not happy with HS 2.0 (it's beautiful but currently unusable for my needs), but I have a greater appreciation for the original HyperSpin. I've been so focused on minor inconveniences that I never realized how much freedom it provides us to do whatever we want. Give HS 2.0 sometime. Once it's unlocked and free to customize, I'm sure it will be a great front-end.5 points

To Agent47 (bellend) You must be THE most embarrassing person on the internet. Your God complex knows no bounds. No matter who asks a question you are down their throats, ridiculing them or generally dismissing everything anyone has to say. I can't EVER remember you helping anyone. Why don't you do us all a favour and disappear from RocketLauncher forums forever and pass you "Super Moderator" (You probably gave yourself) title over to someone that actually wants to help people !! You hate Hyperspin, now mock Launchbox ..... it's soooo embarrassing it's laughable. Whoever put you in charge in the first place needs their head tested. ps, I posted on here because as soon as anyone questions you on RocketLauncher you just ban/delete the post like the little bitch you are !!!5 points

I feel compelled to clarify a couple of things. 1) Agent47 has nothing to do with HyperSpin, as far as I'm aware. In fact, I've heard it said a few times that he's no fan of ours. 2) The HyperSpin community isn't going away. Far from it, in fact. Stay tuned, because big things are in the works!5 points

For everyone's convenience, we've compiled all of the HyperSpin Official system databases in one zip file, which you can find in the Downloads section here. The only exception is MAME - the included 0.236 database is the most current one available and is far more complete than the official one. If we've somehow missed including any official databases in this archive, please let us know. Thank you! ProTip: These don't cover all of the systems you'll find here on the site, and there are many unofficial databases available here as well.5 points

It is a very short life and we all should be able to enjoy every single second of it. To have anyone treat you like dirt is wrong and should not be tolerated, it would not be here. We only want fun, joy and that great feeling of nostalgia here, if you are miserable, grumpy and sad, please move along. 'Have a good time, all the time' - Viv Savage5 points

I used to be confrontational with him but it was a waste of my time and effort. There are few RL members that actively help people and update modules. They're keeping the forum/community alive and for that reason I will not post anything to "upset" Agent47. He is so petty and insecure that I'm afraid the wrong comment from anyone might make him lash out and harm what little community is left. Confronting Agent47 is useless. I don't think we are dealing with an individual who chooses to be so toxic. He probably suffers from a severe personality disorder and I hope he is able to get some help. Just let it go. Anyone with authority on RL forums is obviously aware of the damage Agent47 is doing. There must be some reason he can't be removed or dealt with. For better or worse we are stuck with him. Do we really need the RL forum? We can share module updates here. Plenty of RL troubleshooting has been addressed on this forum. Agent47 wants the complete removal of HyperSpin users on RL forum. Let's leave him alone and help each other here.5 points

Today we dropped some new video snaps for the Nintendo Switch. The set is now at 3,520 videos covering hopefully most of what people need. There is an almost unlimited amount of games (shovelware) for this system. I think the total is now somewhere north of 16,000 games in the library. So here is what we are asking, if you are still missing some videos for installed games or find an error, please let us know in the EmuMovies request section on the forums and we can prioritize those videos on the next round. Here is the list of whats available now. [File List] EmuMovies Nintendo Switch Video Snaps (EM 0.3).txt Videos are now available via EmuMovies Sync and on our FTP server in HD and HQ formats View the full article4 points

Today we are happy to welcome @Andyman as forum administrator. He has been an amazing help as moderator and has stepped up to help organise the downloads section now it is back up. We will also need more active staff moving forward into exciting times. So thank you Andyman and all of our amazing members.4 points

The biggest issue is Agent47 only uses Rocketlauncher and no other front-end. He obviously hates HyperSpin (and now Launchbox) He feels obligated to respond to every question but he doesn't actively use front-ends so his response is always overwhelming negative or passing the blame to the front-end because he hasn't tested it. Any one with the knowledge or desire to help sees a negative response from the "super-moderator" and will not feel allowed to contribute the solution. If Agent47 simply stopped responding to posts negatively, forum users could feel comfortable contributing and helping each other.4 points
