Handheld Bezels All Resolutions

I have no idea how to use shaders to get that gameboy screen to look authentic.  That looks great.  Needs a tutorial for sure.

In Retroarch, you simply load a GB rom, hit F1 go to the last option "Shader Options" hit load Shader Preset, scroll to handheld folder and choose DMG (The 2x, 4x, 5x, 6x are how large you want the screen so try each til you get what you like)

You'll find other systems in there as well.

If you want to change the bezel, say using Sub Zeros, have a look in your Retroarch/Shaders/Handheld/Resources folder.

Here it is.

Bezels

Thanks for sharing!

Are they available to be used without a background attached already? I have a background I like to use behind all my handhelds already so I prefer just the system by itself. Also when I followed the link I didn't notice anything for standard 1080, did I miss it?

So stoked to try that shader out as well.

Awesome, found that shader, and it looks great!  Only problem now is that all of the sudden my retroarch has no sound audio volume at all, and I didn't mess with any settings at all. ugh.  Guess i'll start a new thread with that lol.

I will add all handhelds without bg to the folder asap, there are a few here in the thread without the background

Check your systray to see if it's muted. Someone had this issue recently.

Having issues getting the ones from GLSL folder to work.

Example is I can choose RetroArch\shaders\shaders_cg\handheld\console-border\dmg-3x.cgp and that works and looks like this;

But if I try to use RetroArch\shaders\shaders_glsl\handheld\console-border\dmg-3x.glslp I get a totally black screen

I'm trying to achieve this, which I assume is using glsl

post-41404-0-59644100-1454058754_thumb.png

I have dx9c installed and my build is gigapig's 50 system download. GLSL works fine in other emulators like Mame and N64 etc... any ideas?

edit: Just watched Giga's GLSL vid and he mentioned making sure 'hide emulator' is turned on in RL otherwise you'll get a black screen but this was already set correctly...

Would you mind uploading the backgrounds (without the consoles) too?

Thanks

I did check this but had the same issue, possibly just a bad preset or it's missing something. The shader file mentions a resources folder but it's missing. :dontknow:

Yeah I was right. I just tried the .cg version of the preset and it works. Navigate to "\RetroArch\shaders\shaders_cg\handheld\console-border" and copy the "resources" folder. Paste it into "\RetroArch\shaders\shaders_glsl\handheld\console-border"

Or just use the cg version instead.

The included bezel that comes with the preset is a bit crap so if I were to use it I would swap it out. I don't personally use RA overlays or whatever these are.

I have the same issue there I have to use the CG verison for that shader..the GLSL preset doesn't work.

Use the shaders in the hunterk folder, these ones work for GLSL

Thanks, that has fixed the issue. They now work but still can't work out the shader the sub-zero is using...

Okay guys new bezels for use in Rocketlauncher. i reacreated the GLSL shader CRT-GEOM in Photoshop and can now be added as a PNG layer so all emulators will have the same shader. 4k versions also coming

Click on the picture and be amazed :P i am still working on the shader.png to get it even closer to the crt-geom version i need to add a curve transparency scanline between the rgb vertical lines and the horizontal scanlines to get the full effect. i am already very pleased with how close i got it to the original glsl shader. but it can get more perfect.

Then try it out ;) note that your setup resolution has to be 1920x1080 otherwise it will screw up the scanlines

The final fight one above, you can test with that to see how it looks. i am still tweaking the hell out of it to get it as close as possible to the CRT-Geom
