chriz99
Hey Chris,Having an issue that I am hoping you can help me with... I have the Left slingshot mapped to input 9 and it works perfectly. I have the Right slingshot mapped to input 10 and it does the following. In LEDBlinky (just as a test), when i turn input 10 on, it works perfectly... relay fires as does the solenoid. In AFM, MB, & MM; shortly after the game initializes, the right slingshot activates and stays on. Does not turn off until I exit the table and reset it. With CV; the Right slingshot never fires. Even in the test menu. Left slingshot works perfectly, right one does no. Thoughts? works here perfect, can you double check your solenoid numbers in ledcontrol.ini? i have noticed some lag too. Not sure if its the solenoid/LED code ore note where did you guys notice some lag, which table, which situation?
shilmover
I did check. Left/Right slingbacks are 9&10. lag in all 4 tables that I am working with... MM, MB, AFM, CV
gbeef
All 4 tables lag for me also. I only have 5 siemens installed also. The lag inst horrible but you do notice it. I go from 60 gps to 20/15. Fps on all tables. If I turn Uvp off everything runs butter smooth. And veseversa.
chriz99
I do not use UVP, I just use the ledwiz software - and I can say there is no stutter here, on all my 12 "ledwiz-enabled" tables so far.
chriz99
maybe there is a prob with the ledcontrol version. In the tutorial should be the newest version, but here is my ledcontrol.vbs for double check: http://www.mediafire.com/?2taav182qr8k7hz please test it and leave feedback. gbeef
yeah there no shutter when UVP is off also on my end.. Also its not a Shutter issue its more of a FPS issue, when playing the tables with UVP on you can watch the ball drop frames as resources are givin to UVP and the LEDWIZ at the same time.lol Anyways as i go and recode everything ill turn UVP off at the same time. What ive been doing is just Exporting the screen withe UVP on so i get that nice glow, and then turn it off.
shilmover
that's the problem... UVP makes the pinball complete. If the lag cannot be fixed, I just wasted a bunch of time and $ on LED-Wiz.
luvthatapex
I agree. UVP is a must and I will make this work! (with everyones help) yeah there no shutter when UVP is off also on my end.. chriz99
I heard rumors that UVP will be integrated in a new visual pinball version. this should eliminate the stutter. until that, i will use uvp only temporarily for a handful tables. If you use my hi-res backglasses, you have some nice and original looking "glow" effect, because most of my backglasses are photographed "powered on" (you can also use uvp on the "powered on" backglasses, looks freakin awesome, better than the static ones...it mixes the glow effect on the pic with the uvp glow, very authentic)
chriz99
another tip... ext2k uses successful uvp on his machine, he reported that setting the sound sample rate in pinmame menu (press f1 during playing a table) from 44100 to 22500 or 16000 gives better uvp performance. give it a try and report
shilmover
Will test that shortly. BTW, I got the issue with the right bumper fixed... User error... I had it as 9&10 when its 10&11. 9 is extra ball light, so that was turning it on... I only have 3 solenoids hooked up so for, but holy crap, is that ever freaking cool! jpcurreri
You may try turning off explorer.exe. I gained about 50-150 fps in doing that. It also eliminates the taskbar from popping up.
shilmover
That helps a lot. How do you start windows without explorer.exe? I can manually kill it and launch hyperpin, bit not sure how to do it on system start.

I just made an autostart bat-file with "taskkill.exe /F /IM explorer.exe" the only problem is, that my dmd animation-gif also disappears with the explorer.exe
Guest gstav
Same problem for me with the disapearing DMD when I tried to optimize to startup with instantsheller. the HIDE checkbox also kills the function of active desktop, and is the same as manually kill explorer.exe Didn´t find any way around this either... Great if you could keep the active desktop DMD. Hope somebody knows!
jpcurreri
you can center the active dmd as your background and it will stay on all 3 screens and not disappear with killing explorer.exe. However, you have to find a way to edit the dmd image so that it will display higher on the 3rd screen.

I think you can only use active desktop for animated gif .
jpcurreri
It would be a normal background on all 3 screens. But only visible on the 3rd screen after hyperpin loads. you can use active gif creator or similar to change the position of the gif on the screen. chriz99
I used a standard pic for testing a normal centered windows background over all 3 screen... but after killing explorer.exe it disappeared.
jpcurreri
Im using it right now without that problem. But I killed explorer.exe differently, I made a batch file with @echo off taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe and put it in startup menu along with the hledcontrol. I put the image to the background by using display properties and browsing for the image and selecting center and apply
