MADrigal Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Just now, goofers said: I need Zelda G&W Mad Sorry mate. If you are familiar with my games, you should know that I only simulate games I physically have in my own hands - so I have the chance to test them and make the simulators as accurate as possible. Since I do not own the Zelda G&W, I can not even think of coding the simulator. Furthermore, there is another reason why I do not code Zelda: I simply don't like it very much. I did own the actual game some time ago but didn't like it very much so got rid of it and decided I would not simulate it. Sorry, buddy... PS: stay tuned on this thread today, as I will release the new Galaxy II (Epoch) with sprites featuring a gorgeous 'glow' effect. You will love it - will be released in likely 8-10 hours. PPS: something is happening with the TIME settings on this forum, my reply appears earlier than the post I am replying to...

The list is here: http://www.madrigaldesign.it/sim/download.php There are currently 59 games there (curently release public versions). As you know, 34 new "private beta versions" are released through this thread only, so if you wish to play any of the remaining 25 games, you will have to get the "public" versions from my website linked above. The next releases will be the last 25 games, all made by VTech and comprising wide screens, small screens, necklaces, tabletops, etc.... Find them on my website. Cheers

MADrigal Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 OMG your artwork are GORGEOUS!!!! Thank you so much for them! You have done a wonderful job! However I believe they would be even better if they were made to "fit" the games and also be consistent with the rest of the collection of games. Generally speaking, I have set my own "rules" when designing/modifying wallpapers for use within this project 1. wallpapers must be 1920x1200 (not x1080) so they will be utilisable on both 1920x1080 and 1600x1200 desktops 2. the main elements of wallpapers must be almost entirely visible at my laptop resolution (1366x768) as a minimum, however look good at every other resolution (1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 1920x1080) 3. the style must (when possible) match the game. If the game has a cartoonish style, the wallpaper should have a cartoonish style or a drawing (no ptohographs). Most of the games have a cartoonish style, with the exception of Motor Cross, Armor Battle, Sub Battle (for those wallpapers I utilised photos or very realistic drawings). 4. I don't necessarily need to recreate the entire game setting on the wallpaper or show the game characters. Sometimes it could be sufficient to just create the environment without any characters, e.g. with Fowling and Frog Boaster I just utilised a view of the jungle/forest, which in some way matches the handheld game background. In saying that, I have a few ideas for the wallpapers and I will use your wallpaper of Bomb Fight as an example to discuss my ideas (read below). Banana: your artwork is gorgeous, however I thought about something different for that game. How about a view of a street, with the street going left to right with some parked cars on both sides of the road, shops, etc.? If you look at the game background, you will understand what I mean Baseball: a baseball field just like the one you designed. Gorgeous! I have to check how it looks at 1366, 1280 and 1600 resolutions with the game on top. Will do this later today and let you know if/how I need it to be changed Bomb Fight: the artwork doesn't look good at lower resolutions than 1920, because you have put one character at the very edge of the screen and it is invisible on desktops less large than 1980. On my laptop, I just see a piece of the elephant. Furthermore, you have utilised Mr Game & Watch, which is inappropriate for this game, because this is a VTech game, not Nintendo's. :-) Lastly, the resolution is x1080 so it does not fir 1600x1200 desktops. Please look at the quick mock-ups I have made showing how the game looks at 1366, 1280, 1600 and 1920. In saying that, I hope you appreciate my "directions" above and may I suggest that before you undertake the effort of making a wallpaper for the games, you keep them in mind. As said, I have a few ideas about the games and I would be happy to discuss them with you in advance. I don't want you to put effort into making wallpapers and waste your time doing them over and over again. As a general rule, if you place the handheld game at the centre of the wallpaper, and then "crop" the size to 1366, 1280, etc. you will immediately see how it would look like. Find attached screenshots - sorry I am in a rush and have to go away for the continuation of my day. Will be back later.
MADrigal Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 FYI I completed Banana last night an could not find a better wallpaper than a generic "abstract" one. I have added the VTech logo (vectorized by me) and this is the result. In absence of specific wallpapers like the gorgeous one you have designed, I will end up using similar "abstract" wallpapers with all 25 VTech games. Cheers
MADrigal Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 I am done with Sleep Walker however don't yet have a suitable wallpaper for that. May I ask Accorsi that he please assists me by creating a wallpaper for that game. My idea/input: a night view of a mansion. That could be from the outside (with lights turned on), or the interiors of a "busy" living room (busy = crowded with items). Cartoonish style. If you look at the background of the original handheld, you may come up with better ideas than mine. Thanks in advance!
