Ggallery Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I wasn't attempting to derail the thread, was just offering some friendly advice... I hope Rain has more sense than to treat serious medical conditions with stuff by the pound from eBay You might note that I didnt tell him to not take whatever stuff cooked up in labs his doc's have prescribed him. Meanwhile I suppose only things cooked up in labs (often by truly mad scientists) are the only things that can help people treat diseases and/or their symptoms? Right, and when 48% of ALL people diagnosed with any stage of cancer die within a few years, the doctors and the Big Pharm machinery behind them (that scoff at cheap complimentary treatments) are everyones saving grace. Good thing one Chemo treament only costs about $20,000-40,000 these days (for 2-4 IV bags administered over a period a few hours). Hey Rain have they prescribed you any opiate based pain killers during your trials? That's nature at work. But there's no money in natural products (ESPECIALLY not drugs that don't qualify to be Scheduled by the DEA). Many if not most cancer chemo drugs were plant based. But you cant patent plant extracts therefore you have to change a few molecules around, then patent that. Then begins the multimillion dollar clinical trials. If something can't be patented then clinical trials hardly ever begin, and odds are nil for there to be trials beyond Phase 2 (studies on groups of 100-300 people [real big sample there]). Having first hand experience with Slippery Elm, in the case of a loved one who had an esophogus fried beyond reason via radiation, upon learning of Rain's persistent ulcer problems... My logic was simple: Ulcers are a "mucosal erosions equal to or greater than 0.5 cm", and Slippery Elm which contains Mucilage is well known to coat and protect the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, seemed like it might be of some cost-effective additional benefit. However, now that I'm taking a better look at ulcers, and the bacterial infections often associated with them, you might want to ask your doctor(s) about any possible counter-productive issues that might arise from slicking an additional protective barrier over said ulcer(s), assuming the anitbiotic treatments you've been undergoing are primarily oral (top-down) in methodology. There could even be a factor where a mucilage barrier applied with the right timing in cnjunction with the oral dosed antibiotics could create a more time-lapse effect in the antibiotics rather than said drug molecules just sweeping past the ulcer region, via an antibiotic laden protective barrier. Who wants to bet there haven't been big clinical trials to test that theory? Guess that means at $16 per pound Slippery Elm is surely akin to snake oil? For those still scoffing at my dereliction in absolute faith in the medical establishment, if there are any people suffering from Diabeties ask yourself how many specific foods or spices your doctors have insisted you work into your diet to help rid yourself of this. From the scores of afflicted people I've asked the question to not one has ever indicated this, despite the fact that right off the top of my head I alone can name several such scientifically proven foods and spices that help fight diabeties... even though this disease isn't one that myself or my immediate family has had any problems with. There's no BIG money in cures (let alone DIY cures), only treatments, and if people with diabeties no longer needed insulin shots etc 'everyday' there goes some major revenue source. I never intended to derail the thread, so if anyone would like to carry this further please send me a PM instead of post here.
Rain Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 @Ggallery, I didn't think you "derailed" the thread, as a matter of fact I'd like to thank all you whom have said "get well" or "get better soon." I appreciate all of the support from this community and any suggestion is a welcomed one at that. And beleive me, my wife is Navajo (Native American) and you wouldn't beleive some of the things that she has suggested (Sage and Patato skin water to drink! I think not!) However, to any whom care I am feeling great. I cooked about twenty pounds of stuffing tonight and am in the process of cooking turkeys. I am sure that I will survive in the end. Thanks to everybody for helping out and being patient!

Rain Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 I have been hard at work designing the new user interface to Quick Mame. I am pretty pleased with how it is turning out. I decided to share a few screenshots with you all: Main Interface: Package Management: I am not sure when it will be released, still working out some kinks in the system. I am trying to make this version as simple as possible. Anyhow guys, just thought that I'd shoot you all a little update.
BladeZX Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Looks great... cannot wait to try it out and build a new Mame 144 64bit. Will it do mame plus as well? neohusky Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I currently have HyperMame version 1.0.132.40. Should 0.144 be showing up? To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge.
Rain Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 I currently have HyperMame version 1.0.132.40. Should 0.144 be showing up? no.
SUBZERO Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Nice update buddy, be sure to take your rest and get better first, if they cant wait they just need to compile the old way.
neohusky Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I've been doing it the old way for ages and have done so with 0144. I just come across Hypermame and thought I'd try out it out. @Rain, I'll certainly give it a try again when a newer version of your software is available. Keep up the good work! To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge.
Rain Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 This is just a little update that I am throwing out there. First, I would like to announce that I have officially picked the project back up and am in great health, and feeling better everyday. Secondly, Quick Mame is progressing very nicely and has a much broader array of options than what could be found in it's parent application. I have added a few features via request from the community and am adding more and making the application look cleaner everyday. I am super excited about adding multilingual support to the application! The program now is able to detect the default language of the host system and set itself to the appropriate language (users can also change the language at runtime as well.) Right now ATM the program has been translated into 12 languages and should support roughly twenty-two upon completion. I have really worked hard on that feature because it always bugged me that the "good" applications were only in one language. With the advancement of globalization options to the application, it will also be able to set the default language of your Mame compile as well, and while that is not really a big deal I am pleased with it. From a programmers standpoint I could not be happier with the progression that this program has taken. It is super clean, lightweight and IMHO looks really nice and professional. I have used a few GNU sources that are widely available to the general public whilst building the application, from icons to source manipulation it is all really coming together nicely. Anyhow, this was just a small update and announcement that I am back in the game. Sorry about the pokey lack of updates but the past month has been really rough on my body but I now have the strength to work on the app without exhaustion. Thanks guys!

Rain Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I have a small request, I need help with translations in the following languages, so if you speak an alternative language and could help assist translating 22 word strings to your native tounge please contact me. Need help for translating to: German French Spanish Italian Thanks guys! -You will be given credit on the final build!
RodentVienna Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Hello, I'd love to help out here for GERMAN. Kind regards Alex
PiperCalls Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Would like to try this out, is it available atm? The dl link in the first post seems to be dead... Thanks.
Rain Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 @Piper it is not available as of yet as it is so much work getting a program like this up off of the ground. Though it looks calm and serene on top, rest assured that is simply a front for a layer of thousands of lines of code. I am really wanting to get it going here very shortly. @Rodent, thanks for the German. I was using Google translate, but that is so hit and miss it's crazy. I will send you the file as you requested. @Everybody else, thanks for your support and your cheers. I appreciate them all!
Rain Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Rain I could translate to spanish. Right On!!!!!
Rain Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Okay translators, I posted the translation file on Pastebin, if you could just copy this and reupload to pastebin (with the translations under the English version) I would appreciate it. Here is the link http://pastebin.com/gAHvV3uv
Ggallery Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 You could do it in the Klingon language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klingon_language Or more seriously you could use Google Translate to do the other work for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_translate
Hypnoziz Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 @Rodent, thanks for the German. I was using Google translate, but that is so hit and miss it's crazy. I will send you the file as you requested. Klingon would be dope. Better yet, convert it to the Dragon Language from Skyrim. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_language <em class='bbc'>"But does one ever truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of Fate, and thus defy the tyrannous stars."</em>
