Work, kids, etc. I don't have time right now.

I have more themes but will probably not do anything with them until HS 2.0. Uploading them to the FTP seems to be frowned upon and I DEFINITELY don't have the time to create 4:3 versions of the themes to go through the approval process.

I don't know if HS 2.0 will ever come down the pipeline but what I do know is that I have always enjoyed your widescreen themes. Whatever I can do to help get these created PLEASE let me know. I can't create your video overlays but I think I can emulate your themes and get them approved. I could make some themes from a psd, send them straight back to you for your approval, and if they were good enough upload for approval. All credit to Nlash and the world is happier place. :)

To help keep this thread going, I made a Nintendo Satellaview Video overlay :) Grab it from the FTP under my name....remember the video overlay will appear squished at first when making your theme until its displayed in widescreen for Hyperspin

Shown here is what it will look like in 16:9

I just remembered that I never posted my Atari 2600 theme to match this set or anything else for this except Super Fam. At least I don't remember doing so. I had also went through and made the matching system themes for these which are quite different than how Relic did them. Instead of having disc/cart support, I used that artwork layer so the vid border could stay in place. I didn't mind the sacrifice as it's hard enough to find and create box/wheel art, let alone clean disc/cart art.

I might as well upload everything since I made quite a few changes to nlash's themes (I modified most of the TurboGrafx CD theme and plenty others) and also as a backup place to find them. The only ones I didn't do system themes for are Neo Geo CD and Wii because I don't them in my HS setup, sorry.

I used his main menu backgrounds in all of the systems to match but some of them just don't look that great when used as a system bg. I never got around to replacing them. If you don't like the large gap between the vid borders and box art, look at the PS1 example and see why. Most box art we have is old, small and outdated, but that PS1 box is from a new set and is thus quite larger. Other new sets will come along. So I was future proofing :P

Previews are below. All credit to nlash and his great work of course. It feels weird to upload these because I've had them for ages and made them just for my setup long ago, so don't expect perfection. You can grab everything from:

/Upload Here/DamnedRegistrations/Nlash Widescreen Themes

------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd also strongly recommend making the following change by going into each system ini file in "...Hyperspin/Settings" (example: C:\Hyperspin\Settings\Sega Genesis.ini) and changing the 'game text' section to the following:

[Game Text]
game_text_active=true
show_year=true
show_manf=true
show_description=true
text_color1=0xE4E4E4
text_color2=0xE4E4E4
stroke_color=0x000000
text_font=Style1
text1_textsize=21
text1_strokesize=5
text1_x=32
text1_y=670
text2_textsize=28
text2_strokesize=8
text2_x=30
text2_y=700

This is so the rom info doesn't overlap the vid border and will fit properly too. You can easily do this with Notepad ++ which has a feature that lets you change text amongst multiple documents in a folder. Anyway, that's all. Apologies for the long post lol.

These are super cool. Hopefully looking forward to more of the same excellence. Thanks to all involved.

Wow those look great and really clean, sjig! Far beyond my non-artistic talents lol. They're actually a bit too clean though to be honest, they look like rendered artwork and not real consoles the way nlash made his. When I did Super Fam and Atari, I actually used high-res photos from consoles and copy/pasted textures, then created all the shapes using those instead of solid colors. Mine aren't nearly as impressive as yours but more lifelike.

Have you tried maybe adding a texture or pattern overlay to yours to give them some grain and realism? I think it'd help if you softened up the highlights and shadows too. I also hope you're keeping in mind those need to have their width shrunk by 75% for widescreen but I'm sure you know that already :P I just used nlash's stuff to match vid border dimensions.

I Know everyone is busy but any chance of someone with a bit of wizardry know how would be able to make PAL versions of the Genesis/Mega Drive and Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Entertainment System please??

Yeah Ill have to play around with them more DR......I agree they look super rendered.....was having a hard time finding proper art to rip from as there was never a nice, front facing picture of the console....pictures I found were always taken at an angle....and if I did find a nice picture, lighting was off......this led me frustrated at finding pictures on net as I would spend hours trying to find something.....Ill see what I can do

These are really cool. However they only cover a handful of consoles. What do you do you do for Mame, or Atomiswave or Sega M2/M3, or PC and so on?

That was the reason I switched over to the Unified Mega Theme. While not as cool, it's really easy to make additional themes for it and keep everything uniform.
