Working on a widescreen version of these themes...gave up on the cabinet idea. Now they look stretched on my living room TV. I'll still finish all the 4:3 themes.

Wow, damn you guys have done a lot of work. Awesome! I'm humbled... and truly sorry I had to walk away unexpectedly for a bit.

Had a pretty crazy last few months. Sorry I never got to releasing what I had of these.

Well I'm back for the foreseeable future and I'd love to jump back in the fray but I don't want to double up on anything that's been done.

Anyone want to coordinate with me a bit so i can help build out the rest of these?

Welcome back gibbawho. Glad to see your not dead as some members believed.

Special thanks to jaZz_KCS and Styphelus for picking up my slack. I love what you've done so far. Absolutely love it.

So do we.

Welcome back. :)

Ha...you're alive. Good to hear. Take all the themes on my folder and add your special touches. I have most of the main menu themes in widescreen versions as well. They look really good on a 16:9 TV. I'll upload them tonight.

This was my first time creating themes so obviously they are not as good as you would probably make them.

Like I said, feel free to take everything I have and make them better.

Thanks for all your work. Any plans for a pinball theme?

nice to see you!

Ok, Widescreen Main Menus are on my download folder (16:9 Format). Only PC Games has a System Theme at this point.

With Gibbawho back, I'll let him take over.

Well first things first. I just uploaded the one's I had gotten done. Only main menu's for now. I have some system themes done too but i can't remember which. I'll upload'm as i get it sorted out.

They all have scrolling animated backgrounds. I tried to get the load timing best for slower systems not to experience any visual jumping. It may be a tad slow for some people's tastes. I've also provided a transition video.. because you need to have them when you use animated backgrounds, else it just pops in the background with no transition at all. Just make copies of the transition video and name them accordingly.

These are only in 4:3. I've saved flash FLA files of all the backgrounds. I'll upload them if anyone wants to take a shot at making widescreen versions. Good luck. Its ... tricky. I don't plan to do it... but I'm not completely shutting the door on the possibility.

Theres 7 or 8 themes so far. Check out my FTP to grab'm.

I'll keep'm separate from the others so that we have both animated and non animated versions. I think that's what people want anyway.

Great thanks! Can't wait for psx series.

what are you using to make animated background?

Oh, forgot to mention. I went vector wherever it was feasible to do so in logos and background animations. The ones with vector should scale resolution particularly well.

I could do all the logos vector probably. Would make releasing these take longer though. What do you all think?

What kind of time delta are we talking about between vector and bitmap versions?

Hard to be precise but not an insane amount of extra time. maybe 4 hours of work per theme average. meaning maybe 3 days post time given how much time i actually have to work on these.

Doing all vector in the backgrounds is longer though. I'd have to rebuild what i've done in photoshop. Might even have to change them outright.

For instance the NES theme's background... you try to make that in vector and the amount of processing it takes to render can slow the theme to a crawl. That's why I've only done more simple backgrounds in vector thus far.

I think it boils down to how much you ultimately enjoy doing the work. It isn't like we don't already have themes that can be used while waiting on your future work, and even if you don't produce any more, we still have themes we can be proud to display.

I personally love your work and will use anything new you provide for us, but in no way do I expect or demand any more.

If you love doing this, it doesn't matter how long it takes. If you aren't really enjoying finishing these up and long to do some other casual activity, maybe your current workflow is enough.

I have worked on your themes and i can propose for you, alternatives themes for Sega Saturn and a first try for supergrafx theme (maybe need another background for both). I need your opinion. Tell me what you think about them. Post it tomorrow.

I love that gibbawho is back and now working on the 4:3 animated versions. And it would be even more awesome if Styphelus could continue his work on the 16:9 versions as well and the utmost nerdgasm would mean both of them working together resulting in a final product with both animated/unanimated 4:3 and 16:9 versions, so everybody can take and use what they need. It's obvious that this would mean a lot of work and I personally wouldn't if it takes ages to finish. But it would be my favourite project as of now and in a week or 2 when my new computer is here I will be able to help as much as I can. I downloaded all the GBs of PSDs and everything from both Sty's and gib's folders and keeping an eye on them.

Keep up the good work!
