The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Today is my 1 Year anniversary here!

In honor of this historic event I thought I'd put together a timeline to mark the occasion.

January 24th, 2015:   While sitting on the couch with my wife I suddenly had the idea that it might be cool to build a Pac-man Championship DX+ arcade machine.
January 25th:   Started researching and first learned of HyperSpin from Youtube vids & started looking into cab builds and cab kits.
February 3rd:   Found someone getting rid of a mostly built-cab that was the perfect size for the monitor I wanted to buy. I decided to use it instead of starting from scratch or using a kit.
February 7th:   Truck borrowed. Cab picked up. In the house and ready to go.
February 9th:   Started designing my Marquee and side-art.
February 17th:   My Pac-Man marquee I designed had arrived from Game-On graphics (who did a great job on it).
February 22nd:   Finally decided on and ordered all the parts for the cabs PC. Powerful enough to play modern games on max settings without breaking the bank.
February 27th:   My BenQ 144hz gaming monitor arrived for my cab. It fits in the cab perfectly, like it was made for it.
March 1st:   Finished my cabinet restoration work. Re-built, re-painted, lighted, control panel finished and back in the living room.
March 1st Ordered the cheapest pre-built drive I could find because I sure as hell didn't want to waste hours of my life learning to set up HyperSpin.
March 4th:   All the parts for my PC for the cab arrived at my buddy's shop and he started putting it together and installing windows for me.
March 5th:   PC home and installed in the cab for the very first time!
March 6th:   To April 2nd. Everything just sitting, waiting for the drive to arrive. I put well over 100 hours into the design of my sideart during this month long wait.
April 2nd:   ...Holy hell! My pre-built drive took over a month to arrive, turns out the seller isn't really in New York, but Spain. Worthless scumbag.
April 3rd:   Realized that the pre-built drive was lame. Filled with ancient versions of roms, ancient versions of emulators. Like it was built by retards in the dark.
April 3rd:   Resign myself to having to do it all from scratch myself anyway and make an account here at the HyperSpin forums. If you want something done right... I delete it all except the roms and start over.
April 4th:   To April 6th. Had the HyperSpin basics up and running PC games and MAME, Daphne, AAE etc... within just a few days of joining here. Begin the never ending fine-tuning!
May 7th:   My sideart arrives! The final piece of the puzzle! I can't say enough about how amazing Brad's print work is. Better than I expected and hoped.

May 8th, 2015:   3 1/2 months from when I even had the first inkling to build it, I finally have my arcade machine completely finished.
From not even knowing HyperSpin existed to having all artwork designed & applied, marquee lit, PC humming and Running a well tuned HyperSpin setup.
Felt like it took forever.
Project finished.

...Except for the never-ending tinkering. Still one major project left to do. I plan to completely rebuilt the CP with LEDs this summer. And I will also do a redesign of the marquee and have another printed. And...

Now since it's my anniversary I believe you should all throw me a party. Make it good and I want strippers.

Congrats on surviving your first year!

That's your cue Giga. So put on something nice and start shakin' that bacon!

As you know I'm usually naked, so I'll slip on those high cut denim shorts and boob toob you like.

Congrats Metalzoic and nice game room.

Are you a chick? I personally don't know any men who remember an anniversary without a hint or reminder. ;)

That's a good point. My wife would be pissed to know I remembered this one and forgot ours.

I'm still waiting for the strippers........

I'm still struggling to get these denim shorts on and they ride right up me crack.

Or should I say up my crackling.

A little lube and they should slip right on!

Crackling? Sounds like a creature from the Dark Crystal. Scary.

I just want to say I joined in 2008 and still only have a box with an iPac/8-4-way switchable joys/buttons/cables laying around somewhere (trying to become retro itself I guess)

I'm guessing that you're waiting for all the HS art/software to be 100% before building an arcade.
